When people outside of Chicago think "Chicago pizza," they automatically think of deep dish because it's the most different from the pizza served in other places. But if you ask a Chicagoan about "Chicago pizza," most of us think about a thin-crust pizza that's a little heavy on the tomato sauce, has a bit more zing in the tomato sauce (usually from a bit of extra white pepper), and is cut into squares instead of triangles. Typically with big chunks of sausage instead of pepperoni. Pan pizza is something I only eat about once every other year, usually when guests are in from out of town. It's just too filling and heavy to eat on a regular basis.

@@bluerath exactly. Looked as if there is load of cheese and some marinara sauce on top of it. And it looked a bit too flat and crust isn't that pretty and attractive. Sure, classic "deep dish" is just a layer (literally a layer) of thinly sliced pepperoni, then cheese and load (not a little bit) of marinara sauce + a little bit of parmesan sprinkled on top. i can live off of new york pizza-
i love your grandma..she is so awsome. I envy you. i love how you and your grandma experience new things together. great vids..
I've just recently stumbled upon your videos and I love them! They are so fun to watch! I want pizza now but it's 10:34 pm and I have to go to bed. I love pizza!
As a Chicagoan I can't look at that ugly "deep dish" :(
Looks like a normal stuffed pizza. Actually impressive to see it outside Chicago.
Kyle McDonald deep dish is such a tourist thing
as a new yorker, looks like your average chicago lasagna to me.
But anyway there are quite a few places where it's done much more appetizing.
Anyway, I agree with @Kyle McDonald. It's awesome to have different styles of the same dish everywhere in the US. (I don't know where they film these videos).
@@mmulvill checked their photos on Google maps. Looks like a bit upscale pizza/Italian cuisine in comparison with average neighbourhood pizzerias :)
I would go there. Looks promising! Thanks for sharing.
The wrong thing they’re trying to pizza cold it is nasty when it’s cold
yall really do be sleeping on Detroit style tho
Oh that's the kind with corners, right? It looks really good in pictures. I've never been to Detroit but could you recommend a national brand that does a decent approximation?

In WI, we had Rocky Roccoco, but there are fewer locations than before
H p I don't know, the only thing I can really think of would be jets? I'm not sure but I've seen a lot of them in Michigan so they may be in other places!
@@hp8685 Try Jet's 8-corner pizza if there is one near you. If you ever visit Detroit you gotta get Buddy's original.
I love the way your grandma enjoys food so much! God bless you.
Love watching your grandmother try these foods , her reactions are priceless thank you
