My dude that is how Haitians make their mac n cheese. Minus the ham and breadcrumbs. My mom would make the Mac n cheese, with rotini and put it in a casserole bowl, then sprinkle a whole lotta Parmesan cheese on top and put it in the oven until the Mac n cheese would start looking a little golden brown. It would come out like lasagna. You just cut into it.
I use 5 different cheeses one of them being blue cheese, maybe half a cup. My wife became a fan of blue cheese after eating my mac n cheese. I also bake mine.

I love how Grandma OK goes to finish off the grilled cheese at the end. I like to add ham on my grilled cheese for a little more filling version, but it's an absolute must to dip it in tomato soup!
If we're sharing grilled cheese tips, I like to put a little cream cheese in it along with the regular cheese to make it a little extra creamy. Not too much or it affects the taste and makes it a little bland, just a little layer to complement the cheddar/American/etc cheese
H p That’s a good idea! I used to add a little cream cheese, or sour cream, to my Kraft Mac & Cheese as well. It gives it a bit more richness. Can’t add too much or it throws the flavor off. 🙂
I just take a slice of cheese on bread and put in the bottom of the broiler and watch it, when its gooey I fold it in half and eat it........without soup! Yum......! Just finished my comfort food of some french fries with cheese it a few minutes ago.
What a lovely Grandma! I recently lost my last living grandma and she reminded me heavily of mine, wow, didn't realize I would tear up in the middle of writing this... Great video!
There is this America trope where whenever you’re sick as a kid, your mom makes you chicken noodle soup. Like when I was a kid I would be so excited when I got sick bc I knew it meant my mom would make chicken noodle soup. Even now as an adult whenever I get sick I make it. Also Mac n cheese is my favorite food and it hurt so bad to watch you disrespect it like that :(((( jkjk
@@allietone20 I'm do baked mac in my house and I actually go through the effort of making a beschamel rather than just using either. A bit more work but totally worth it imo. Edit: and yes, a little bit of ground mustard does wonders in mac, I say this as a person who doesn't even really like mustard.
Chicken broth is high in electrolytes, that’s why it’s good when you are sick. The saltiness is actually a benefit and part of what helps you feel better. That’s also why many people drink salty electrolyte drinks like Gatorade or Recharge when they are sick. I think it’s also high in calcium and magnesium, and also collagen, which is an easily digested form of protein.
I feel like the most important thing with comfort foods is that they should be the version you grew up with! Like with the chicken soup I only want the one my Mom makes from scratch, but Kraft boxed mac and cheese is also a major comfort food for me because that's what we always had when I was a kid. But then I know other people would rather have homemade mac and cheese, or Campbell's soup, since that's what they grew up with. Comfort food is interesting because it's so personal. :)
I had tons of canned chicken noodle soup growing up, but my mom would also make the best chicken and dumplings so that became a comfort food for me too. I can have either one when I'm sick and be happy! But if I'm really sick the can is better, because I'm too exhausted to chew haha.

Your father... was a chef. You didn't know, and he didn't either... but he committed to cooking like a real chef. How lucky you were!! Make the dish tonight to honor him.
@@Divorceja My dad is a retired chef, actually. He started washing dishes in a diner as a teenager. He was trained as a short-order cook when the existing one was planning on going on vacation and moved up from there. He never spent a day in culinary school. He spent most of his career working in industrial cafeterias.
I love your grandma so much! She‘s so adorable!!
When I heard the crunch of the grilled cheese my mouth began to water! 💦
I’m American and mashed potatoes and gravy is one of my favorite things to eat. Ever
Especially with fried chicken. And green beans.
Thats the best combo. Or baked chicken quarters
I would also have accepted "corn" in place of "green beans."
Or green peas, but only the little ones
@@tranurse I don't think peas work so well with chicken and potatoes. Peas are better with meatloaf, I'd say.
I’m craving chicken pillows, mac & cheese, & A grilled cheese w/tomato soup now... and don’t even get me started on the comfort foods that are in the dessert category 🤤
Mmmmm Bread pudding
I love seeing your grandma enjoy food. Makes me smile every time!
since i'm fasting for ramadan, i still can't eat yet so i decided to watch other people eat and now i'm hungrier than ever. also grandma ok's reactions to the foods were so adorable and warmed my heart
Hymayra Chowdhury Good luck with your Ramadan fasting! :)
Hymayra Chowdhury Ramadan Mubarak hope you get to eat soon!
Me too hahaha. Just a few more minutes!
Good luck with ramadan💜
Good luck
3:58 OMG YOUR GRANDMA IS LITERALLY THE CUTEST HUMAN BEING EVER. AWWWW
Paris yes ❤️😭 she reminds me of my grandma and I love that women to death❤️❤️
My Korean mom talks like that :’))
Now I miss my grandma. Guess I'll go make myself a grilled cheese.
🥰😭💖🧈🍞🧀🍞🧈💖😭🥰
Hard to find an elder to try new foods. You have a grandma that is willing and enjoys them. 👍👏
Omg I can’t stand it, that grandma is so adorable!!!
The grandma makes me laugh and smile everytime I see her. 💜😊
3:57 Grandma is so cute and I love her🥺💕
I love how Grandma OK goes to finish off the grilled cheese at the end.
@@susanmaggiora4800 That sounds great! I bet sour cream particularly would give a nice hint of tang
Also, try tomato slices on the sandwhich. Soooo good.
your grandmas so sweet!! i was so happy to see that she enjoyed everything so much 💞
Grandma is so positive about everything. Love her 💕
Channel owner: "Hi kids"
Grandma: "Hi, KING"
I think we all know who has our allegiance now
Grandma is so cute and pure 🥺❤️ protect her at all costs
Grandma is slowly becoming a Korean American Vicariously through food.
Kyser that’s how you bridge the gap between cultures. Food brings us together
Welp it’s western/american food that is making asians more sick though...can be a treat though
@@jaminwaite3867 it is very processed

What a lovely Grandma! I recently lost my last living grandma and she reminded me heavily of mine, wow, didn't realize I would tear up in the middle of writing this... Great video!
I love watching you 2 together. Such a great relationship between you. Granny is up to trying anything. :)
"Al dente has left the chat"
😂😂
Grandma OK eats tomato sauce
“It’s quit tomatoey”
That is the most Grandma OK thing she has ever said
Your grandma gives me life I am serious she makes my heart hurt I love her so much 😍 ❤️🤩😭❤️😍
Why is she the most absolutely adorable grandmother ever? ❤️🥰
Me: **Watching this in the midday of Ramadan**
Also me: *Why do I hear stomach music?*
I see the "Mac" but where's the "Cheese"? 😂. I'm kidding, just messing with ya.
Lasmar, did this video break your fast?
I finished a cup of ramen and now i’m eating cereal 😳
@@kaychiken What kind of cereal? with or without milk?
SS'ParrOw fruity pebbles with milk
Omg, your grandma is so sweet. The sweetest ever.
"'Al dente' has left the chat" 😂😂💀
i died
"what's this yellow thing?" omg bless grandma's soul she's so cute 🥺
That would be "cheese". What they named the sandwich after. :D
Oh my god, your grandma is so cute. So enthusiastic and the way she genuinely enjoys the food is adorable.
Do you make your Mac n cheese with milk or condensed milk? In my house we mix both, because the condensed milk makes the cheese a little more tastier.
@@allietone20 condensed? I don't think I've heard that one. I've been told about adding mustard powder tho
@@allietone20 I'm do baked mac in my house and I actually go through the effort of making a beschamel rather than just using either. A bit more work but totally worth it imo. Edit: and yes, a little bit of ground mustard does wonders in mac, I say this as a person who doesn't even really like mustard.
@@allietone20 I use water, because I'm a weirdo and got used to that flavor. XD
@@kaldo_kaldo That totally sums it up! Nostalgia is everything!
Nick Miller oh man! I haven’t had my Granny’s homemade chicken and dumplings in 10 years now.
Absolutely true! Comfort is individualized, as not everyone is comforter by the same things. Good point!!
@@kaldo_kaldo Oh yeah!! Chicken and Dumplings has got to be one of my favorite comfort foods! I just made that yesterday, in fact. I like to use Bisquick biscuit mix for the dumplings 🤤
As an American - yep, spot on these are definitely our comfort foods! Glad you enjoyed them!
She showed herself truly American when she ate "Kraft" mac& cheese.
Never eaten that in my life...only semi-homemade
she needs to give her annie’s mac n cheese.. or better yet, that premade one at costco 😍
Kraft Mac & Cheese is an insult to real mac & cheese....
@@zoelopez3993 Dear gods are you trying to make the woman hate American foods? Those are horrid!
Right I hate fake Mac n cheese
This is potentially the most wholesome content on UA-cam
Awwww you 2 are just adorableee❤❤

I would love to see both of you try Polish food
Oh yes! I would love to see them try Pierogies! Definitely one of my top comfort foods (I'm from ohio, and we sell them everywhere lol).
I have never eaten as many comforting food as when I was traveling in Poland and visiting local families. So many homemade dishes! Heavy and hot! Everything felt so welcoming =)
Yesss. Eastern european food is awesome
I love how she eats the spaghetti "asian style" (slurpping) instead of making a ball like it's usually done
You mean I've been "Asian Slurping" my spaghetti for over 50 years and didn't know it?
Fork twirling is for the birds.
@@Savatage1964 Search why are asians slurping noodles on google and you will understand. It's a way to show appreciation of food in many cultures... Instead of just meaning we eat like a pig here
I don't know *why* I get such joy from watching people I don't know, speaking a language I don't understand, eating food that I don't have. But I do :-) Thank you for bringing a little bit of happiness to the world.
Your grandma is totally adorable, she makes ya just want to hug her.
Grilled cheese and tomato soup and the spaghetti and meatballs looked damn good! I'd be happy as Grandma too eating them. Honestly, it's been a while since I've had either of them.
“No time to say goodbye, sorry” 😂😂😂 I like your style grandma!!
Already brushed my teeth and laying in bed but now I’m hungry
