    Thank you Kris for the audio test. Audio tests are so important for people like me who enjoy listening to music when traveling . Yes, I'm an audiophile who bases his car considerations on the audio system.

    When I first heard about the missing back window, I did not like it. But then I started to think about it. That is not really that bad. Maybe even a really good choice. When I look into the rear mirror of my Polestar 2, I can see just a small part of the window. A camera for sure will have a much wider sight. So the only problem with this car is that I already have a great car.😂

      I'm having similar thoughts. Wouldn't mind if you had the camera have the ability to connect to the main screen to utilize a wider field of view either.

    The P4 is a great looking car….and love that it removed the rear window, opening up the back seating with more space…and the inside rear view mirror provides far better, and wider field of view that is available from a rear window.

    Kris. I have always enjoyed your reviews when I was researching the P2 which I ended up leasing in the US. I'm definitely going to lease the P4. I can't wait for your drive test. On the sound test, I don't know how you do this but others reviews don't play songs for copyright. Kudos. Please post your drive test as soon as you do it.

    Looking forward to your test drives P3, & P4. I viewed the P4 Performance in Sydney a week ago. What an awesome machine. Camera resolution is way, way better including dynamic range of cameras. Would be a great upgrade from my P2 MY24 LRSM. I can't complain though. Will be up sort of your way next Feb - Helsinki. Loving your You Tube channel and hopefully pushes the share price up in time.

    Thanks Kris, it does indeed look great, sat in one at Battersea this week along with the P*3. Delivery in the system was saying late 1H 2025 so I may end up extending my current P*2 for a year and jump in next year, hopefully with upgraded 800V architecture. May even start seeing some price competition kick in by then :)

      Delivery is only Q1 2025 if you choose the electrochrome roof option.

    Hi Kris, fantastic video. The most informative video about PS4 on UA-cam.
    1. Do you find it's as easy as a normal SUV to get in and off the rear seats? Especially for seniors. Thanks.
    2. Grateful if could cover the cabin noise level during testdrive. It appears PS4 doesn't have double glazed windows.

    I'm with you on the vent controls being in the screen. What's even the point of having them motorized if there aren't any oscillating patterns you can choose?

    I had to come back to this review after having sat in the P4 twice now at our local Polestar dealership. I have to believe there's something wrong with either the software or hardware in the car I sat in. No amount of adjustment delivered any level of "punchy" bass that you describe. Didn't matter which source I tried using either. It sounds worse than the HK system in my P2, which it definitely should not.

    Great review Chris! Is Tidal an option built in to Android Automotive for this car? Wondering how the hifi quality coming from Tidal in this car compares to Spotify over Bluetooth in your test.

    Swede here who are often in Copenhagen so that could be a cool meet up! I've already checked out the car last weekend. It's quite nice but I think it's a bit too expensive in Sweden for what you get and too touch screen centered which most other car makers are guilty of these days.

    When I set the seat and steering wheel position to fit me the Steering wheel blocked the view so the left lower corner of the middle screen wasn’t visible.

    Like the P2, the P4 is a “cross over”. But call it what you want, as the lines between all these labels vary on who is talking.

    I dont get that point if someones are against that no rear window thing. I never turn my head to look straight back, I just watch that rear view mirror. Many times rear view mirror view is not that good and those cameras does make it way better in that Polestar 4.

    Interested in the car, but just wish it was price competitive. The P3 and P4 are way too expensive and not at all competitive in the market. These will not sell well, and looking forward for depreciation hitting these hard for those that do sell.

    Thanks for testing out the sound system. I do appreciate your opinion on this, and for me the sound system is a big part of a car.
    Had a chance to look at one for the first time yesterday. If I was in the market for a sedan this would be really high on my list. SUV? Eh, no. It really looks good in person! The lack of rear window which I really thought was an own goal when it launched didn't actually bother me much when I sat in it. The landscape screen and the better layout for 360 camera and backup camera next to eachother helps too. Sure, actually driving it on the road in real world conditions will finally tell how well the digital rear view mirror works in practice.
    One omission I did notice looking at the car is the lack of a ski hatch... Not ideal to have to fold a seat in order to load skiis. The little hach behind the rear hedrests is simply too small to fit skiis through. The boot without the rear window is otherwise actually very practical! We rarely fill it above the boot cover in our cars not to leave things on show and without the rear window it makes all the space usable and if you put the boot floor to the lowest level with a load lip it is very large.
    I'd also like a 230V plug socket in the boot/cabin to be able to tap in to the massive battery for various things when on the road on top of the rather weak 12V 120A outlet.

    This needs more power in RWD trim (+50kw/65hp) IMO. For a premium vehicle with an equally premium price, it should have premium level performance. This has the same 0-60 time as a $35k (USD) Toyota Camry Hybrid/Honda Accord Hybrid.

      @@naivoj122no confusion. They all have 0-60 times of approx. 7 seconds. Hopefully the real world numbers are more favorable.

      @@jrwaters943 cause yes, p4 is said to do 0 to 100kmph in 7.1 and those mentioned hybrid is said to be doing above 8 seconds.

      @@naivoj122 The 2025 Camry Hybrid is too new to have official published numbers, but given the power increase it should be a bit better than the prior model which did 0-60 in 7.4 seconds. The Accord Hybrid does 0-60 in 6.5-6.6 seconds according to MotorTrend and Car and Driver.

    Not really sure how you determined that the Tesla Model S and BMW i5 are comps for the Polestar 4? Doesn't make any sense to me. It's going to be competing with other small, premium SUV EVs like the Porsche Macan Electric and the BMW iX3.

      he's spot on in his comparison. the overall price/package of the ps4 compared to the macan ev is borderline ridiculous. the ps4 comes out looking like a steal. I'm sure however that that porsche badge is still worth paying the additional $10k+ to some people though.

    Harman Kardon hasn't been good since the early to mid 2000s, for Home Theater applications anyway. I wouldn't touch BOSE with a 10-foot poll if I could help it.

      Harman Kardon is just branding. The company, Harman (which is really Samsung now), make the vast majority of in car audio systems. Bang & Olufsen, JBL, Becker, Mark Levinson etc., are all made by Harman.

    You sure Polestar of all companies will be putting in real leather, not with the marketing push they talk about sustainability and sustainable materials suspect it's vegan leather, aka fancy-vinyl. The headrests not adjustable we need someone who is Jack Scarlett height to really test it to find out how it is as similar to Tesla & BYD with non-adjusting headrests I'm not a fan of. You put your profits into license fees then I assume for the music to play it for over the time period before getting pinged by UA-cam's algorithm's for copyright.

    A major complaint about your review is that you din’t even bother to mention, or demonstrate the view from the inside rear view mirror, and how it actually provides a BERR, and wide view than you would get from looking out a rear window (if it had one). Seriously….the #1 thing most people will be talking about is the lack of a rear window, and you didn’t even address Polestar’s solution? WTF?

    Call me what you will but I vote with my dollars and I refuse to buy a car that puts simple functions like vent direction into a touchscreen. It's terrible unnecessary design and would drive me crazy because I actually adjust my vents fairly regularly depending on the circumstances and who has been driving the vehicle. I am not giving up physical vent controls. Now get off my lawn! 😆
