Congrats Audi, another machine without big tablet!!!
Congrats Audi, another machine without big tablet!!! 👏👏👏
don’t know that having a dated infotainment is something to congratulate
@ why dated? What do you need that the infotainment doesn’t provide?
Because big tablets are horrible and useless@@hardywoodaway9912
@@hardywoodaway9912you mean why you should congratulate when a car is one of the last to have modern technique and software, while packed in really stylish design. While the vast majority of cars nowadays have ugly tablets just glued on to the dashboard, not caring about making it look great. But it seems people are just accepting it, which is really sad.
@@korbrouwerdude, your not a car enthusiast if your interested in big laggy screens to do everything related to the car on. Look at the VW ID range it’s just horrible. It’s not dated it’s authentic, classic. Cars aren’t dated if they don’t have an iPad on it. Get yourself Tesla if you care about software in your car, NO personality!
I love this car. I drove pre previous model that my friend has. One day I will buy it used with like 10 to 15 k km and sell my model 3 LG for this e-tron.
I really like the addition of noise. I’m looking forward to the testing of more vehicles. Keep it up!
Dream Car❤
What about vehicle depreciation? 50% after 2years?
Like every single electric cars, they're not made to be owned but to be leased so you change it after 5 years.
Hybrid is the only only actual viable car model to own nowadays, Synthetic fuel and Hydrogen (when it will become afordable) are the future of the car industry.
Unless a regulation forces the manufacturers to make the batteries easily swappable like NIO does.
Wonderful test!
I am rewatching a lot of your tests because i am buying used used e-tron
Is there a link to a spreadsheet that contains cars further down the leaderboard?
Is this like the Porsche Taycan that when you put it in range mode (or efficiency) It will disengage the rear motor, turning it into basically a FWD Audi? So the 925HP isn't that relevant since it's a FWD 342hp car now. In that case i would say the consumption is quite high.
Well, it’s efficiency mode. You drive it in efficiency when you’re not looking for performance but city/motorway driving.
Well this vid was a nice surprise! Didn't know you would get to test the refreshed GT/RS GT already. I didn't realize it was known to be noisy. I'll have to look at your vids back then of your previous GT. I am looking at a 24 (pre-refresh) GT as the lease deal is very aggressive and was hoping it would be serene and quiet lol. I always had the GT shortlisted as my next daily driver. I just assumed it would have very little road noise/cabin noise. How does the old GT compared to the refresh RS Etron GT for road noise? Would consider the 2025 refresh but the MSRP looks to be much higher than the 2024, plus the 2024 are discounted substantially now.
Nothing beats my four wheel drive diesel during the winter, I get three times the range of this Audi and all the cabin heat you can wish for. But I love your tests!
Diesel for the win 🏆
are you seriously comparing your diesel to a super saloon with 925HP? You might as well be commenting that on a video about a Ferrari F12 or an Aventador? You'll probably get three times the range as those cars 🤣
you think you don’t get all the cabin heut on an electric car? 😂 you live under a rock, you can even preheat any electric car
@@KrisRifaKris, he was referring to the range, and you start talking performance. You of all people know for sure, as soon as you start using the admittedly impressive performance in a BEV, your range goes totally out of the window. Please compare apples and apples.
I used to have couple of Mercedes diesels before the current EV, and I have to say that the diesels were much more colder inside and heated up very slowly compared to EV. While driving long trip to Finnish Lapland, I charge the car while having lunch. So the travel time is identical with EV and diesel. Not gonna drive 900 km with an empty stomach or without coffee breaks.
HI!
Has the noise level measuring any difference if the microphone is placed forward next to the head rest? I see it is facing the seat now, but i dont know how good a microphone is detecting noise from the sides or how directional it is.
Kris thanks for making good youtube content. You seem to know a lot and share your honest opinions about cars which I like a lot 👍👍
That was just to show my microphone, I don't measure the noise levels in that position. I measure the noise levels at the headrest position on the passenger side. The microphone is omnidirectional, which means it picks up equal in all directions.
I’m always perplexed at how low the speed limits are in Norway, but then when it snows, everyone keeps going at the same speed which just seems way too fast!
Haha! Where do you live and what are the speed limits there?
@ I have been living in Oslo for the last 4 years, but I’m from Denmark originally :)
Anyway keep up the good work, your videos are really interesting 😊
Would be nice to see comparison between this measurement method and the “cheap” and also some other cars, for example the Model Y which is often mentioned as noisy.
Absolutely! As soon as I retest cars we will get those results.
Love the E-tron GT, but the winter range aren't good enough.. Same as almost all other EV's.. Really bad winter range. I'm so glad I'm driving a Plug-In Hybrid during winter.. Got double the range as this GT.. And you also used Efficiency mode. Guess that's not AWD either.. Wonder what the range would be if it was locked in awd.
Do you really get 700km of range at -2c when there is snow and slush in the road going a steady 120kph? That would mean a consumption of 8,5/100km. Sure, you could probably do that in summer, but under these conditions? I find that hard to believe, so We should do a test. I hear diesel people claiming great range under similar conditions and speed as my test all the time, but when I try to find any videos about this I come up empty handed. So please link anything that supports these claims :)
This being an EV it can engage that front motor in a fraction of a second when needed, just like your S60 T8 is FWD until the rear motor is needed, so same same. Another thing to remember is that this Audi has 21" wheels in winter and more than twice the power as your Volvo. A more fair comparison would be an S E-Tron GT on 19" wheels.
@KrisRifa I'm usually between 7-9 l/100 km during winter highway driving. Depends on drive modes, and my right foot. Usually I don't use ACC.. but think I will get fairly close to double.. Either way I love the E-tron GT and would trade mine in a heartbeat for that GT. Despite the shitty winter range 🤣
Your not using 925 hp in Efficiency, or with ACC set to 120km/h.. So that's not relevant.
But I'm more excited to see the Kristiansand long trip test with the GT..
But even with that amount of snow and slush on the road, most of the time 2WD is more than enough, and FWD the better option. In Eco Mode the front engine is only used if needed and it has a reaction time of milliseconds, cat like, not like a mechanical AWD that it takes almost a second for the the clutches to close.
@@volvo_kristian Sorry Kristian, but unless you actually do a proper test loop with all the data and make a video your claim bears little truth. Remember that these tests are timed to get the actual speed and they are done in A-B-A style to mitigate wind and elevation changes. I hear claims like this every day, even from EV drivers. But the problem is that usually the actual average speed is much lower that what I test at, so those claims cannot be compared.
I found one range of the S60 T8 here:
ua-cam.com/video/BzC4kkl5WF0/v-deo.html
This guy claims the test is done at 70mph, but the time is not measured so we don't know the actual speed. But let's give him the benefit of the doubt and for the sake of argument say the speed was 5mph lower than in my tests his consumption over 80 miles is 33 MPG (US gallon) which equates to 7,1/100km.
engineerexcel.com/air-resistance-calculator/
If we use this calculator to correct for speed so the results can be compared to the speed in my test the consumption increases to 8,2L/100km (15% increase in air resistance, not accounting for increase in rolling resistance).
The test is also done in the dry and in the summer since the guy wears shorts. So already before accounting for much colder temperatures and rolling resistance it is already looking bad for your claim. I think it is fair to at least ad 30% higher consumption to compensate for these factors, putting the consumption at 1,1L/100km putting the range at 545km.
Still good, I never said it wasn't. But not twice as you and many claim.
But we should to a test one day to find out. Wouldn't you agree? Or are you to scared to find out the truth? 🤣
Output is relevant because comparing apples to apples is relevant. It makes little sense to compare your 455hp S60 T8 to 925HP RS E-Tron GT with aero bits and 21" wheels 😉
@KrisRifa Forgot you had trust issues 🤣 So you need facts? Well I'll give you facts..
My S60 T8 Polestar Engineered delivers 405hp. It has a stated consumption at 0.27 l/100km. Now that's a fact.. The petrol tank are around 50 liters. Let's say 48 liters usable. Then take 48 liters and divide it on 0.27 👍 I don't think range are a problem here 🤣 And if it turns out that I have a higher winter consumption, then I can refuel 2-50 liters in 3 minutes.. Even without active preheating.. So I'm already a winner 🏆 I'm driving away while you're queuing up at a charging station.. or trying to find the correct app.
But let's race 🤣 I will crush you and that gorgeous E-tron GT.. but the winner takes the other's car. Clean and clear 🤣
Will even crush you while towing a trailer.. How much can your 925hp car tow? I'll wait while you check.. 🤣
// Joking aside.. The 925hp aren't relevant. You said it yourself as well. You're not using it during winter. Listen to what you said.. Something that it was to scary. So your 925hp Audi was a 276hp volkswagen in this test 🤣 So guess you're 🍎 are suddenly more comparable with my 🍊
Sorry, not sorry 🤣🤣 But let's race.. Just remember one thing..
It doesn't matter if I win with an inch or a mile.. Winning is winning 🤣
I think it is time the new 800 V 2-speed Mercedes CLA appears 😅
design is really only for enthusiasts
With 305mm tyres in the back and that much slush on the road, this is quite good.
Buying an Audi RS to go wild driving 75 mph. 😂 The range will be 90 miles when driving 115 mph.
where is the sound... i am so sad, i am born in the wrong generation.
Road sound!
@tandemjohny i don't care about the road sound, it sounds like nothing. i like having a big V8 in my back screaming and exploding in my ears.
