It was just me, my brother, and my friend. It was over an hour or so after the show ended, and it was a small venue (Sunshine Theater) and we were hanging out by the back entrance. He wandered out eating and we sorta approached him and he was super laid back, just stood there chatting outside the door while they moved equipment. Such a humble guy, really. He was so nice and honest. Told us he couldn't find his phone and had never really realized how much he was attached until he didn't have it. It was a great glimpse into his life.

    Breathing slowly, mechanical heartbeat
    losing contact with the living
Almighty TV plugged, hybrid empty brain
don't see anything real in the game
    The tension is building constantly
No reason just a reflex I have, driven by clockwork
I try to keep an eye open
And I realize I haven't closed my eyes in a long time
Neglected emotions lead to catastrophic voyage on the other side
I have been given so much stress and lack of confidence
I've been given the gift of so small hope deep inside
I haven't closed my eyes in a long time, I am trying
I cannot stomach these forms and colors anymore
but I'm here to continue, after all I have been through
I try to keep my eyes open, I am realizing
This life in death more precious than anything
I won't bring no material in the after life
Take no possessions, I would rather travel light
I'm of this kind that kills all day
but I don't know yet how to die
Art of dying, is the way to let all go
Within I practice in the secret of my soul
    My shape in the reflector

This is about ego death and the constant spiritual battle of killing the selfish part of ourselves. For bettering both the world and ourselves. People think I'm me liking metal means I'm really rebellious or angry. And mabye I am internally angry from some things in my past but I always saw metal as a message for humanity about the realization the we are all fucked and all we can do is trust the non selfish part of ourselves because that is all that matters in the end.

This band is absolutely astonishing. The way they can make you headbang with their killer riffs and tempo changes, but at the same time flail your body is exstasy and saddness when the melodic parts come in, and all that in the same song. It's pure talent, may they live to make music as long as they can.

The section of the song up until he starts singing is very interesting to me, cuz I believe that they wanted to capture the PROCESS of dying. The section tells the story of a person who is in the process of dying, and these are the last few minutes or moments of this persons life. Maybe a patient in a hospital, or someone who had an accident, or someone having a stroke or whatever right.
00:00-00-19 : It starts off with just the claps (?) and that's where this person realises and feels that something is SERIOUSLY wrong, and the hum represents death, cuz the hum is so obscure and you can't mistake it for anything else, so this is where the idea of dying gets in the persons head but he's trying to convince himself that he's fine, and coming up with reasons and explanations
00:19-00:57 : This is where the clock kicks in and more sounds are being added, as the intro progresses, death also progresses and this person is starting to realise that he's dying, and it gets harder and harder to find other explanations to what he's feeling, hence why the clock becomes the backbone cuz he realises that his time is out, and as more sounds gets added and it gets louder, the more he realises that he's dying
00:57- 01:10 : This is where everything else stops but the clock, and this is the exact instance where he realises without a doubt that he's going to die soon, and he doesn't know what to do, cuz how could he? We humans can't imagine death, so he freezes out of fear? Terror? Sadness? Confusion? Regret? Who knows, maybe a human emotion that we have yet to discover.
01:10-02:16 : All instruments kick in and they come in hard, just like his realisation of dying, the instruments represent his thoughts and emotions. Cuz they're just a giant mess and battle, he's feeling all of the emotions above and many more at the same time, cuz he knows his life is coming to an end
02:16-forward : Now he starts singing, and the whole tempo of the song kinda slows down to a very weird, sound? And when he starts singing he kinda sounds "off beat" in a way, it doesn't sound like it's structured with the song and that's on purpose, cuz he's dying! He doesn't care, or is even able to stay on rytmh, he doesn't CARE about small issues any longer cuz he's dying, he wants to give you his last words and these are it.
This is how I think they thought when making the song, and I think it adds a whole new dimension to the song. Thx for reading LOL!

It's a wonderful, colossal lesson on how Life should be lived to its fulness without drowning it in the materialism of our days, accepting its complementarity with the Death which is the only thing that gives sense to life itself, giving it an end. The fact that we don't live forever should be a huge motivation to walk through our existence in the best way possible.

The Art of Dying...that outro is, to me, the world going on outside while I'm dying in my hospital bed...everything I thought was important isn't anymore...all the noise, the hustle and bustle, the angst of having to scrape through another day...all the stress, the doctors, nurses, ....LIFE....slowly fading away...
