That’s what I feel like I’ve tried other recipes and twice get some alien looking thing I’m gonna try this one tomorrow for my 3 rd day of trying to make a dairy and gluten free cheesecake 😔
Omg I made this for thanksgiving it was so good and I made a crust-free It was so rich and creamy Made it for my mom because she can’t have dairy and she loved it
Thanks for this. I used Vegan Life cream cheese which is made with coconut oil. Before it even got in the oven the cream cheese separated. I made another batch, baked it and when it came out the oven it was a layer of coconut oil floating on top. I thought I over oiled the pan ( i use cooking spray).
Thank you for letting me know! yes that is what I assumed would happen which is why I do recommend the nut based cream cheese! I've tried both the Almond and the Cashew based and both have worked well 😁😁😁
Thank you for the recipe. I added another ingredients so the cheesecake won't be too sweet. I added half the amount of sugar and half a can of condensed milk. It was delicious and it came out perfect. It was a big success. Once again THANK YOU!!
Hi. They do have a dairy free condensed milk. Just so you know. My son and I struggle with dairy free and would get very sick from the regular sweet & condensed milk used in many recipes. 💌
@@gmmamaof3496 I’m kinda late 😅 but I found out recently there’s such thing as coconut condensed milk, in my opinion it has a coconut flavor (obviously) which I’m not fond of but if you or your son like coconut it’s a great substitute! 😊
Hi Abi! I really like your sunniness. I had a rough go of a dairy free cheesecake and this video made me smile. Do you think your recipe would do okay with gluten free all purpose flour? My husband can't eat gluten and I can't do dairy. We make a good pair. I would want to include him if I can. Thank you for such a fun video. It was encouraging.
Birthday coming and a special request: dairy free cheesecake. Thank you for the amazing recipe, without it I would make a little young lady very disapointed, hahaha
I watched another video and the lady mentioned gelatin! Have you used it before, for different flavored non-dairy cheesecake? I am new to your channel and love this recipe! 😁 I want to experiment and wanted your insights! ( re: orange flavored, lime flavored, etc. )
I bake my cheesecakes at 200F for 8hrs. or overnight. I always baked my dairy based cheesecakes and custard based pies at this temp and perfection. No need for a bath and flour or starch in your recipes. Hope this is helpful. Also I use dairy free cream and df sour cream as I adapted my traditional recipe to go plant based. Stay safe and healthy everyone❤️
add your water to the outer pan after you put your cheesecake in the oven - just be careful not to burn yourself on the hot oven, and work quickly (yet safely) to try to minimize heat loss from the oven. i use a jar full of water or something easy to pour without getting my hand near the hot parts of the oven. So you don’t have to carry a slosh-y water bath with a cheesecake in it from the counter to the oven, and can avoid it sloshing when you center the pan on the oven rack. i’ve had some success with a pan of water on the rack below my cheesecake as well.
Can you substitute the eggs for Just Egg, or would you need to add agar powder too? I like your idea of coconut whipped cream! How long does the cream last?
I have not experimented with substituting the eggs but they are definitely vital to the structure so you might want to try adding the agar powder as well! the cream lasts for a couple days if kept cold. I like to put it on right when I serve the cheesecake though 😁
Korean Cooking Videos: Graceful, feminine text describing the ingredients. Elegantly manicured hands folding sugar into cream. A kitchen so blissfully silent that you can hear the spoon ring against the bowl like birdsong. American Cooking Videos: WE GONNA MAKE A CAKE! AHHHHHH!!! *HOUSE MUSIC*
the only trouble you will have with no crust is getting the cheesecake out of the pan! if you are looking for a gluten free crust you can use gluten free cookies instead of graham crackers 😊 adding fruit to the batter would be an experiment. as I have not tried this I can not tell you exactly if it would work but it might be worth a try 😊
Thank You Sm for the recipe✌🏽! The question is does it taste like cheesecake and have that creamy texture?? Also what’s the price range on the groceries? I might make this for my lactose intolerant friend @ work
it does taste similar to classic cheesecake, as close as you can get without the dairy! not quite as rich as a regular cheesecake but it is very creamy and delicious! prices for dairy free cream cheese are pretty high so you'll need to budget about 30$ ingredient cost for a small one. if your friend is just lactose free you can save a bit on the cost by buying lactose free cream cheese instead of the vegan cream cheese and it'll taste more like a classic cheesecake as well! 😁 hope this helps!
OR you can make it with soaked cashews ground really fine instead of the cream cheese. it won't be as tart but it still has a nice creamy consistency 😍
I have baked it with a pan of water on the oven shelf underneath to create steam and it worked ok. if you bake it without the water bath the sides tend to cook/brown too fast leaving the sides harder and the center underdone most of the time this results in cracking of the cheesecake ❤
I would bake it at a lower temperature for longer. if youve had success baking a regular cheesecake that way I would use whatever temperature/time combo you used for that one 😊
hello! you are correct! in the video I made an 8" cheesecake and the recipe makes a 9" I am so sorry for the confusion. if you would like the conversion for the 8" cake let me know 😁
thank you! yes i do mention this at minute 10 in the video. I like to leave mine in the oven until its almost completely cool before removing it 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
hello! it is in the drop down video description. also right here 😁 Recipe: Yeild one 9" Cheesecake 4 8oz pks of Nut Based Vegan Cream Cheese ( you can also use Lactose Free.) 1 1/2 C granulated Sugar 4 eggs 3/4 C Extra Creamy Oat Milk (or any other dairy free milk) 2 tsp. Pure Vanilla 3 Tbsp All Purpose Flour
definitely try this new recipe I just released. You will want to substitute the Coconut Oil for Vegan Butter and the Coconut Cream for dairy free heavy whipping cream (Silk makes one I am not sure if it is Coconut free) ua-cam.com/video/GUg0ONQL6qs/v-deo.html
Hi Abi, There are two things I'd like to say to make you a better UA-camr . 1. Is that recipe you have given us is incomplete. You have only given us a lift list of ingredients but no temperature for baking the cheesecake. 2. You are making this video in an empty room and I can tell because the sound is live - you need to put a carpet on the floor maybe a carpet on the wall. And you are speaking too loudly and your microphone is distorting.
Thank you for your constructive criticism. I would like to say the temperature is well explained in the video you must watch to get the whole recipe 😊 check out some of our more recent videos where we have added sound proofing to the roof, as a carpet won't work in a kitchen 😊

Very clever with the water in the pan. Because of course you’re not supposed to put plastic in an oven.

yes I've found that the pan on the bottom rack can work definitely. thank you!
I wish you would put the backing instructions also in the recipe. Going to try this
hope you enjoy it!

Any replacement for the eggs? Could I use chia or flax eggs? Or xantham gum?

yep! commercial grade plastic wraps are used even at higher temperatures 😁

I can only get my hands on cream cheese that is made with coconut oil. Do you think it would still work if i were to just freeze it instead?
I would try a nobake cheesecake recipe instead
OR you can make it with soaked cashews ground really fine instead of the cream cheese. it won't be as tart but it still has a nice creamy consistency 😍
@@cakemom9705 great ideas, thank you
No problem at all 😊
What 4 8oz of cream cheese mean what is it in grams, i can't find it.
What happens if you skip the water bath? I don't have a large enough pan for that, and the regular cheesecakes I baked didn't seem to need it.

Dairy free cheesecake? what is dairy and what is cheese? crazy!
we now have dairy free dairy of all kinds 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m very confused, I thought vegan was another word for dairy free so the egg and milk definitely throws me off 🙄
I’m not sure if you know but dairy free is referring to milk or any cow products. Egg is not dairy…. She never said it was vegan
