Pathfinder: WOTR is an isometric single-player role-playing story game currently in development by Russian studio Owlcat Games and published by Deep Silver, based on Paizo Publishing's Pathfinder franchise. Announced through a Kickstarter campaign in February 2020, the game will be released for PC, Microsoft Windows, and macOS on September 4, 2021. A console version for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series X Gameplay, PS5, PS5 Gameplay, Playstation 5, Playstation 5 Gameplay, will be released at a later date. The game is a sequel to Pathfinder: Kingmaker.

In WOTR the realm of Sarkoris was destroyed when Areelu Vorlesh opened a rift to the abyssal planes of existence, and hordes of demons invaded the world of Golarion. Led by the evil Demon Lords Deskari, Baphomet, and Nocticula, the abyssal forces crushed all who stood against them, turning Sarkoris into a demon‑infested land now known as the Worldwound. Pathfinder has dozens of classes and subclasses with thousands of abilities, feats, spells, talents, and buffs to choose from. The spell listing allows you to choose from Evocation (Damage Dealing), Enchantment (Crowd Control), Necromancy (Undead), Abjuration (Buffs), Illusion (Crowd Control), Divination (Buffs/Disruptor), and Conjuration (Summoning). This is combined with an insane amount of class/subclass options including Alchemist, Arcanist, Barbarian, Bard, Bloodrager, Cavalier, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Hunter, Inquisitor, Kineticist, Magus, Monk, Oracle, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Shaman, Skald, Slayer, Sorcerer, Warpriest, Witch, and Wizard! It is Owlcat's goal to give each of these classes at least 5 subclasses each!
Choose your Mythic Path and embody an Angel, Demon, merciless Lich, wily Trickster, superhero Azata, law incarnate Aeon, truly evil Swarm, merciful Gold Dragon, or forgo all of them to stand alone as a Legend. Each path will allow you to improve your hero in unique ways, adding a new layer to character development and making your hero and their allies a true match for their powerful enemies.
You will command the Fifth Crusade and govern the Crusade system. Lead your crusade during tactical combat battles in a turn based mode inspired by the Heroes of Might and Magic series. You will command armies, grant them powerful bonuses, and deploy rituals to succeed. As your generals levels up they will gain access to new buffs, spells, feats, talents, and abilities. Your chosen Mythic Path will also open up new options such as calling angels to your side and using zombies to attack your foes. Your units and how they gain power will also be guided by the decisions you make. From ruthless Hell Knights to benevolent priests you have a wide array of allies who will answer the call for battle.

As the commander looked towards their companions. Mythic power surging through their veins. The world wound churning with immense power. Blood dripping from their chest. They couldn’t help it.
They smiled.
Reaching a hand towards them the mortal turned Mythic smiled.
“Join me, my pantheon.”
The shocked faces were his reward.
From the complete flabbergasts of Seelah and Lann. The unbelievable chuckles lf Greybor and Daeran. The warm smiles of Ember and Sosiel. The shocked faces of Arueshalae and Woljif. And even the stoic yet wide eyed faces of Regill and Trevor.
Even Nenio in her near unflappable personality stopped writing to look up.
What was offered. What was just going to be given. Shock couldn’t begin to describe it.
“I promised you, all of you. A longer life, a better life, a chance to see and learn, and chance to grow and change. I promised I would even the playing field.” The commander said their voice still so strong even as their life leaked from their chest.
“Ascend with me. And let’s finally do it. Make a better world. My pantheon.”
One by one they accepted the commanders hand. And one by one they rose up. And 11 new Demi-gods rose to meet Golarion.
I was surprised though world wound have enough power to make like a dozen Divine being in one night.
Owlcat is generous here giving us wholesome ending.
Spoilers for Trickster Act 5:
You can actually *trick* the members of the counsel to fight you. If this happens use a midnight bolt on Socothbenoth instead. This is because you no longer fight Nocticula. This will net you the right amount of crystals (granted you got the other ones too) for the party to ascend.
You know I could tell that was an option but wasn't sure how to pull it off in Act 5. Might need to revisit Trickster. Thanks!
I've said it before, but Owlcat made an amazing game with a tremendous amount of depth. If your first playthrough was purely for fun, and you go back for a second run following these steps you'll have some amazing experiences waiting for you. This is some really impressive story and mechanical writing and planning.
Edit: I forgot to mention I really enjoyed how you demonstrated and and set up this guide. Easy to follow and entertaining.

The Recommendation: Don't go Aeon for your first playthrough.
The Answer: ! ! ! ! *AEON SPOILERS BELOW* ! ! ! !
[The Answer]
A true Aeon is compelled to judge Areelu by going back in time and taking her out before she has a chance to create either them or the Worldwound. The journey towards this conclusion is only fun if you know what the unaltered timeline looks like, and is, ultimately - and perhaps appropriately - going to leave you feeling a little used, and a little hollow.
[Further Bitching]
This path is built up as a transcendental, cosmic experience beyond the ken of mortals, gods, or demon lords. What it culminates in is a celestial kick in the nuts from uncaring cosmic forces that are only too happy to see you yeeted from the timeline, same as every other "mistake" that you've been retconning on your travels.
An Aeon player is not an Aeon. They're not impartial observers residing in a layer above the mundane chessboard. They're a pawn for those greater forces, and face the fate of all pawns when a game is finished.
You don't join them at the end. You don't ascend to the cosmos and join your Aeonnic space buddies for a game of space bowling and a space beer. You're simply corrected, and that's it.
It's appropriate in an ouroboros 'it ends where it began' kind of way. The universe corrects a mistake with the mistake. The scales are most balanced when they're empty. Fine. Whatever. I'm rolling Azata and punching everything between my guy and a happy ending with Arueshalae. The cosmic balance can go fuck itself.
Yup that's exactly what I heard which is amazing. Really looking forward to seeing that story play out.
I like to see that even the most “good” mythic paths like Angel and Azata can’t make the most “good” choice in the end and made the ultimate “good” sacrifice, themselves, resulting in being same selfish persons as all evil paths regardless their “good” alignment (:

All the reasons you listed is exactly why the Aeon path is my absolute favorite haha. Got pure goosebumps when my character got the blue aura when he returned to reality after altering the past. As soon as that happened, I knew exactly what I had to do to maintain the balance.

First of all, thank you for this guide, it's impossible to tell how much you helped me with this video, i've seen couple of guides in the Internet before but yours is just brilliant, it have literally everything from dates, locations, calendar to some hidden tips I haven't seen nowhere, I'm sure this video was a ton of work, well done!
Also, i can confirm that everything from "Areelu Lab part 2" works. (not sure about accepting powers tho)

And I can also give a little tip for those who, like me, have done all the sidequests, all research and everything else in Act 5 and are waiting for the desired month, you can send your party to the place farthest from the capital, put auto crusade mode and start swap your party members, the further you go from the capital, the more time will pass in the game after each swap, it took me 7 days for each one, you can skip quickly enough, and the ac mod is needed for skipping useless demon fights at the border, if you have already done everything, then turning it on will not affect ending, you will still have all dialogs with areelu about your research before ac mode

Thank you so much for doing this. Haven't finished yet but I'm trying to get full party ascension for my first ascension run. It will be my forth full play through and still I would have no chance without the information from this video. A note I'd like to add for the Ineluctable Prison if playing as an Azata: Be sure to find Hepzamirah after dealing with the Hand of the Inheritor and do NOT destroy the Prison until then. Because once that happens, can't go back and have to use a mod like Toybox to fix things. Other Mythic paths might be able to go back, but I wasn't able to as an Azata.
Good call out. None of the Mythic Paths can return to the Prison once they have left.

Thanks for the guide. Also want to add this considering 27:00 about letting Nura help you. You can totally accept her help with Mutasafen, being on an Angel mythic path, you will meet him again in his Laboratory and can continue with your mythic path etc.

I beat WotC when it first came out and decided to play it again later when the bugs were fixed. Had no idea any of this was even a thing so now on my second playthough I'm going for ascension. This guide is fantastic, concise and clear with annotations on top of it. Thanks.

Thx for the guide. Got the ascension ending in my 1st playthrough thx to this video as a Gold Dragon Mythic Path.
Didn't need Nuria though, I killed her on Drezen and still managed to make Mutafasen to stay on Pullura's Fall and save the researchers at the same time. Although one of the researchers sacrificed himself to close Mutas portal, but the rest of the crew survived.
Nice! Maybe one of the patches changed this.
I have tried to do this on my own 3 times now and always miss a couple of steps, this will come handy for finally doing it right.

@@SlanderedGaming Also I did picked the gloves on 43:11, apparently you have to pick them first (before any other item in the shack) and it is mentioned as the 7th dialogue, at least that is what it said: "you did pick up my son's favorite belongings first"

32:56 Regarding the Heart of the Inheritor, you can DEFINITELY give his heart back even if he doesn't trust you and STILL get the Ascension. (The dialogue with Areelu in the end won't even bring up the Heart and the Inheritor's fate which is why the rumor of it blocking you of the secret ending is most likely false.)
34:12 For the Ineluctable Prison, you can kill the Worm first before fighting the Hand of the Inheritor. However, when you go to Hepzamirah's location in the Prison BEFORE fighting the Inheritor, you will see no one, so you need to defeat the Inheritor first. If you somehow forgot to talk to Hepzamirah and left the Prison after defeating the Hand of the Inheritor, just go back to the prison. She will still be there for you to talk to.

i just finished my 7th playthrough with a arcanist trickster i gave him his heart when he hated me for being chaotic i got ascension
Did another playthrough as a Trickster + ascension ending and I'd like to add. It is not necessary to kill the Worm or the Ashen One in the Inelectuble Prison. Just head to where Hepzamirah is and talk to her after defeating Inheribro then leave dungeon. But hey extra exp is always nice :D

Just got the full ascension ending as a Devil (pre aeon). I did cheat a bit to get the crystal dagger, but otherwise, thanks to this guide and some other things I read, I got to complete it.

In order to have Areelu summon Baphomet and Deskari, you must make her high priest of both. And to achieve this, you must rid the current holders of these positions: Deskari's Echo and Horzalah. But you have to learn that from Hepzamirah's ghost in the labyrinth after you fought against Iomedae's Champion.
Where is horzalah? I’ve completed everything in act 5 other than Iz and still can’t find them?

@@Nikiokoin act 4 I did all of graybors quest, gave him his half of money and told him it’s his choice if he wants to join the assassin’s. He has not come talk to me at all in act 5

And what have you done in act 4? Did you enter Willodus' mansion and kill him?

I wish you would show all the different endings because a lot of us either don't have the desire or the time to go the game for all the different endings. When you realize the very first choice of the game is at the very beginning but you're around the end of act 4 so you use toybox to change it.
By the way, if you do want to use toybox to change that etude, go into Search n Pick, search "Areelucrossbowrefused" and select "Unstart". Now search "Areelucrossbowtaken" and select "Start". Do not select "Complete".

@@jupiterrising887 Nah, not a fan of going through character generation. Did not have a save back then before the attack started. Even if I did, it's likely beyond outdated.

There's also a perception check directly after the 4 knowledge/lore checks you need to pass to combine the 2 lexicon parts. The DC is lower than the lore/knowledge checks, but still quite high. I respecced specifically to be able to pass those checks then stumbled on the perception on 1 attempt, (had to reload & buff to get through it).
Oh good point I forgot to mention that.
@The Infinity Sock Mine was 27 dc, though I think they change with difficulty setting.
I did this on my "good" lich playthrough. I was not disappointed. It was a great ending, almost all my companions ascended (seelah left and wenduag refused) and Demon Mom, plus I got to give Pharasma a little "up yours". I hear the first DLC continues from the end of the game(or at least we get to use a full power char), so I can't wait to see it.

How exactly did you have good lich run? I heard something about killing Zacharius and Siding with Geb but that sounds like some sort of rumor rather than in game thing.
@@kubakwak921 You just pick the good options? Nothing preventing you from being good alignment after you do the Mythic Path Alignment quest. I started out with a Neutral Evil character, pick mainly good options, was neutral when the quest popped up to "not be good" and just talked to Zach to pass the quest while being true neutral. After that you dont need to worry about keeping alignment to below good.
Also, most companions wont leave you if you earn loyalty (I'm sure there is a way to make seelah stay too).
In my playthrough I saved the Queen, only raised Staunton and Kestogar, didnt pick the Lich option in Act4 drezen (so didnt raise the dead). I Eared Zacharius loyalty by killing both, other advisors (more to it but...) I basically did all the stuff I'd have done on an angel playthrough (bar what I needed for the demi god ascendancy)
Also you can kill Zach (his wand/phylactery is in the ziggeraught) and ally with Geb. I've done that in another playthrough. I dunno if there is a definitive "good" lich ending, I just picked the good choices through out the game. All my ending slides were positive due so....(well bar wenduag)
@@Dinvan I see! It always brothered me that it seemed like you can't play as lawful neutral lich, Ainz Ooal Gown style. Glad to know I actually can remain not mustache twirling Evil.
Finished the game today. Fantastic game! Played as a ranger-demon hunter Angel. Fits great with the story. Didn’t get the secret ending, but went in blind so that’s expected 😊

Hey guys. For those of you who are like me can't be bothered with keeping track on elven pages and constantly missing them - there's actually a very easy way to combine Lexicon yourself even if all of your Knowledge and Lore skills are literally 0.
The most important part for this is level 20 cleric and domain powers - you going to need Touch of Good, Visions of Madness and Touch of Law. Sosiel can do this for you unless you already leveled him up in a different way. If so - hire a merc. You can get both Good and Law domains during character creation if you pick Erastil, Iomedae or Torag as deity. Madness can be added as impossible domain mythic ability. Make sure you have +8 to INT and WIS buffs (easiest source - level 20 brown-fur transmuter merc). You also going to need character who can cast greater heroism and someone to cook Mulled Wine or Lucky Hand Sandwich (if you are willing to deal with Enigma).
To combine Lexicon you gonna have to travel to an area where you can buff your MC with all this good stuff. If you're in Drezen the closest location is Lost Chapel. Go there.
Rest, cook Mulled Wine/Lucky Hand Sandwich (+4/+5 Meal), cast on MC: Guidance (+1 Competence), Greater Heroism (+4 Morale), Visions of Madness - Skill Checks (+10 Untyped, need to overcome characters spell resistance to apply), Touch of Good (+10 Sacred) and then as a bonus Touch of Law for guarantied 11 rolls.
So provided you already have INT/WIS bonuses, stacking all of this allows you pass all of Lexicon checks without any problems. On Core the toughest one is 41. I don't know if the checks are harder on higher difficulty levels.

Great video, and I don't know if anyone will be reading this after 2 years, but I think there's a couple things that deserve pointing out:
1) If you romance Galfrey and get enough crystals, she will also ascend with you
2) During the ending of the Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC, you are able to get another crystal, meaning you can have a Mythic other than Trickster or Demon and still be able to skip Nenio's final quest (up to personal preference if you think the quest or Midnight Isles are worse)
3) SPOILERS for the Aeon Mythic ending: True Aeon cannot achieve ascension because at the end of the game, you roll back time so that the Worldwound never even existed in the first place, therefore you never got your powers (and possibly never existed either I don't remember exactly). However if you are on the path of True Aeon you still can make the choice to not reverse time and ascend, however this will switch you over to Renegade Aeon.
4) The year does not matter when entering the Threshold, the game only checks the day and month, although it is very unlikely that you will be entering in later years unless you deliberately skip time.
Fun Fact: _The Glass Key_ (1942) is also a great film noir movie.
(InB4 someone in the comments points out "It's from a book, ya nab!" - I know but I can't authoritatively say the book is great because I haven't read it. Instead tell me I should, and I'll add it to the groaning backlog of books I need to read).

So much options that you can't go in like that.... Only the game developpers knows all this to achieve full ascension....It's amazing...
Yeah they did a great job.
You must finished the game between the 16 and 21th Gozran but there's not a limited year ;), on my last run i have finished the game with 6 cristals and Ascension in 4718. With the increasing content, it's normal, otherwise you would have to miss out on quests, which, as an rpg player, is difficult to accept.

For those trying to get this ending on patch 1.1.0k (released on October 28 on steam):
-Save before the last fight (with Areelu + demons lords)
-If the demons lords at the end don't drop crystals, it is worth trying to reload
-In my case reloading wasn't enought, I restarted the game twice and then they both dropped a crystal (both appeared on the same pillar)
Interesting well at least the issue is halfway fixed.
An alternative solution for Pulura Falls I found to rescue the Stargazers:
If Ramien ( Desnan priest you saved from Hulrun`s clutches/ Act I ) sides with you, then you can safely deal with Mutasafen.

i like how this time the secret ending is way more impossible to achieve and all it does is just make you a god. i know i know "oh wow godhood" but it doesn't give you anything mechanically in the game is just like getting a colored sash at the end of a competition. its like "huh, neat"

I got this on my first playthrough. The only thing I looked up was the date range - I knew the chances of getting it naturally was almost zero (I never saw an NPC like the Pulura stargazers mention it either. Dunno if that's a bug or not, but there it is). Saw some people mentioned a date range so that's what prompted me to look it up.
Everything else I just lucked into fortunately :) . Very satisfying ending! I got the whole party + Areelu ending. Angel path.

About to try this on my playthrough shortly. Hopefully it checks out. I achieved just about everything here that was mentioned without knowing it. I didn't even know there was an ascension path/secret ending until chapter 5. About to enter the Threshold. I had to use the Toy Box in a couple instances to make sure I was set for this.

@@SlanderedGaming Ugh. This failed which otherwise I felt was a perfect playthrough for a lawfully good angel character. I ascended, but only me. I had crystals, happened to complete so much of what was covered in this video without even knowing about ascension chapter 5. When I defeated Areelu, and selected the "I've uncovered your plan" dialogue option, and then selected the "I want to know, I want to follow" option, I only had a couple dialogue options and according to Neoseeker, there should be 5-7 listed. So I didn't get to fight Deskari and Baphomet again and only I ascended. It would be nice to know what I missed which resulted in those dialogue options missing.
It was damn tedious to follow guides to get this ending. There’s so many steps you could easily forget about.

Not sure if this was mentioned before but if you play as a Trickster you can use Trick Fate when trying to combine the Lexicon, use it on the 3 most difficult roll you have to make and you will roll 20 for those 3, you then only need to roll successfully the remaining one and the perception.

Idk about Baphomet in the final act, but for some reason Deskari dropped 2 Nahyndrian crystals when hit/killed with a midnight bolt. He died on the same hit from the bolt. Accidentally killed Baphomet with an overpowered Trever so idk if he is supposed to drop one.
Some people have said that fight is bugged again where they had trouble getting the crystals to drop. Hopefully it's all cleared up when the enhanced edition comes around.
I wonder. The missing check to convince her your her child. If you have the lucky bracers you begin with the game with she will mention she made them for her child (who has your name surprise surprise)
I remembered it playing my azata and her mentioning them cause I literally never took them off.
Yup and if you want the alternative choices towards the end there is a pair of gloves you can get in her lab that give you a luck bonus to AC and your stats.

@28:53 I just played this section. First turn my archer fired a midnight bolt and there was a brief interaction. After the fight, it goes into a cinematic of sorts and I was presented with a dialogue option to pick up the crystal. Hopefully that will help people to get consistent results with that battle.

@@incelstar only renegade aeon can ascended, become deity as a normal Mortal technically is a "law breaking". So true aeon cannot ascend as they are law

Going around drezen judging people. I'm sure it gets better later. But I restarted as a magus eldtrich scion. And I'm gonna go azata with zippy magics seems like a fun build. Yea aeon just wasnt really feeling it I dont know why. I loved the demon though. But I didnt ascend I scarficed myself at the end. I missed alot of stuff though and kinda rushed the last chapter cause the game was so long lol. But I love it. This time I'm gonna take my time with the azata
@@priestskorge i basically acted more like a devil than an aeon and i was also good. So in the end instead of a transformation i had to kill mephistopheles to become a renegade or become a devil. I had the power to go into angelic aspect at will which was cool
This guide needs an update, because I can personally confirm two things: First of all, the True Aeon CAN get the ascension ending. You just have to choose to not rewrite the past during the battle of Threshold. That will let you go on to fight Areelu the normal way. Second of all, you do NOT need to accept the Mythic powers from Areelu's Lab, or Nocticula's Palace, because in my play through, I rejected both of them and was still able to complete this ending.
The first one is an update from a recent patch. For the second one you do not HAVE to reach mythic level 10 but that means you will miss out on one of seven possible ways to convince Areelu you are her child. As I said in the guide you do not need all of them to convince her. Congrats on achieving Ascension.
@@SlanderedGaming You still get Mythic rank 10, even if you reject the power she offers you. Instead of gaining your Mythic ranks from Areelu's help, your power increases by drawing upon your hidden reserves of strength.

On a side note the locusts at your video indicate that you re currently playing a swarm yet you said swarm cannot ascend. I'm a bit confused.
It's a bug in the game where sometimes if you load a save where you are swarm the locusts will stay on the screen even if you switch to another save. All the clips are from my Angel or Trickster playthrough regardless of any swarms you see.

Technically the Ascension ending doesn't close the World Wound, it just makes the plane that it connects to yours instead of Deskari and Baphomet's. Which can be a good or bad thing for Golarion, depending on what Mythic Path you took.

I suggest you to try a updated guide to this going on demon mythic path because there is in Alushnyyra a quest from Yozz who wants you to kill leader of shadow demons... in his lair there is another Midnight bolt. I am pretty sure you know this, so it would be pretty cool to add that in your video. :)
I think there are actually multiple things that have changed since this guide even though this guide can still be used to ascend. At some point I might have time to comb through and make a video on the updates.

What does the Pulura Shrine do by "clearing the skies" before you enter Threshold? I forgot to click it and entered anyway. Later when I got control of my outside "B team" and had to defend the camp, I found I could still click it, so I did, but I'm not sure what it actually did.
Hmmmm honestly I don't remember and it was never clear if that step is actually necessary to achieve Ascension.

@Sharles Davis Kendy - True Aeon is not described accurately. A True Aeon makes Lawful Neutral choices in Aeon judgements and retains the ability to time travel. A Renegade Aeon makes good choices (going along with Seelah) and loses the time travel ability. True Aeon cannot ascend because they will time travel and undo the Worldwound before you even get the opportunity to convince Areelu you are her child.
@AncroKT - The conditions for Rebel Aeon are tighter even than just the Ascension ending itself, so if you want to become an Ascended Aeon it would be best to follow a specific guide for it.
@りずきくん - Most of what you need can be retrieved using the Toybox mod. Nahyndrian Crystals - Fresh Crystal. Purple Dagger - Crystal Dagger. Type "lexicon" to search for any kind of Areelu Keys or Elven Notes for the Storyteller.
@Badbentham - If Ramien (from Act 1) joined the Crusade, he can help you deal with Mutasafen even if Nurah has not been recruited.
@-Elphirein- - If you are an Evil Mythic and give Galfrey the Lexicon you can kill her for it in Act 5.
@Ashrun Zeda Regarding the Heart of the Inheritor, you can DEFINITELY give his heart back even if he doesn't trust you and STILL get the Ascension. (The dialogue with Areelu in the end won't even bring up the Heart and the Inheritor's fate which is why the rumor of it blocking you of the secret ending is most likely false.)
@Ashrun Zeda For the Ineluctable Prison, you can kill the Worm first before fighting the Hand of the Inheritor. However, when you go to Hepzamirah's location in the Prison BEFORE fighting the Inheritor, you will see no one, so you need to defeat the Inheritor first. If you somehow forgot to talk to Hepzamirah and left the Prison after defeating the Hand of the Inheritor, just go back to the prison. She will still be there for you to talk to.

On Aeon - the reason that a True Aeon can't ascend is that they consider the Worldwound to be a crime that needs to be written out of history entirely. There is a hidden Rebel Aeon counter in the game that checks to see how tightly you follow the Aeon path in attempting to unmake the Worldwound, things like convincing Xanthir Vang to research nahyndrian crystals for you instead of creating mythic demons. I haven't finished playing Aeon yet myself, but the conditions for Rebel Aeon are tighter even than *just* the Ascension ending itself, so if you want to become an ascended Aeon it would be best to follow a specific guide for it.

Jeez this game is soo huge and complicated I just gave up 😮for me there’s just too many options and not enough time.. I only got one life lol. People must have found out about this by data mining seems impossible to have just stumbled across this end. Respect to those that finish this great game

Your video got me back into it think it's a case of an hour or r two here and there and not worry about getting every achievement. Every time I level up and see all those options my mind boggles to the depths and love owlcat put in to this game seems wrong not to finish it
10:22 - The video is a year old, so it's probably been mentioned already: a true Aeon prevents Areelu Vorlesh from becoming a demon and opening the Worldwound by travelling into the past and fighting an easier version of Areelu. This is why the Aeon can't ascend.

I´m on the lich path but I only chooses good option in Act 4 to gain the inheritors trust. When I try to give his heart back he responds his heart is beating (with the blue commantary that he trust me) but I don´t play furhter because I don´t know if the evil path locked me out of the secret ending if I give his heart back even i he tust me?

Oh, and does accepting the "Make the worldwound into a crossroads of the dimensions" option in the Trickster path block ascension? You didn't say, so I wasn't sure.

Hey so, I finally managed to start Inevitable excess, but thing is, I keep resting and time keeps passing and I'm now at 21 gozran (month 4) --in the dlc--, my question is, when I go back to the main campaign after finishing the dlc (haven't cleared the main campaign yet) will it pick up the date after the dlc or will it pick up right where I left it?
Inevitable Excess is completely separate from the main campaign.
Question about Act 5 stuff: Aside from needing to do the end part in a specific week of a specific month, is there any rush to get to Pulura's Falls or Iz? I followed the NeoSeeker guide and it sounded like I needed to get there right away.
Some Mythic Paths don't gain their 9th Mythic levels until Iz and more quests are complete. Therefore it might make sense to finish them ASAP. As far as Ascending though no it doesn't matter.

My math may be off, but do you need to play Trickster or Demon (to get the extra crystal), for the "everyone ascends" (including Areelu) ending?
No playing Trickster or Demon just lets you get it without having to do Nenio's quest.
Most people think you cant go lich or full evil and keep your paladin, that isn't true you have answer you questions lawfully and evil as much as you can. If you stay lawful she wont leave.

Thank you. This video is in depth, believe it or not, I played as a Demon on my first playthrough with no guides and closely got this right. Things I shouldn't have done or did do:
I got all the storytellers notes. I gave the first part of the Lexicon to Queen Galfrey 🤦🏽♂️ (You can kill her and get it off her corpse before facing Deskari's priest, Deskari falls afterward). If not, she will not trust you if she lives as you state when back in Drezen...and since I didn't sadly most of my companions left me in that instant so they all faced my Demonic rage: instant death!!! I kept Suture alive and freed him. I showed Shamira the purple knife 🤦🏽♂️. I told Areelu, you need to tell me everything first 😀. I had 2 Nahyndrian crystals. I stopped Mustafen. Etc. Etc...such as giving his heart back to the Hand of the Inheritor and he trusted me...and so on.
I didn't make the time cut off of 4717, it was 4722, dammit the crusades kept me busy and didn't account the time that u stated. I killed Areelu and myself due to Demonic rage sacrifice to the Worldwound 🤣🤣🤣, so Game Over showed for me! 🤣 That was my Ascenscion in a nutshell!🤣

Yeah this game has some strange achievements. I got one by accident last night that I didn't even know was a thing. I think it's called "A Very Important Deed" ? Or something like that. Apparently, in a single playthrough, you need to rescue the ale cart during the Defender's Heart attack, AND rescue all of the courtesans in Daeran's mansion when the demon's attack. Apparently only like 3% of players on Steam have pulled that off? I frankly didn't even know it was something to do xD
😂😂😂 Yeah it's weird the things that will pop an achievement for you. One of these days I will turn the game down to easy and pick that one up. Most of the time a Courtesan gets slaughtered before I even get to make a move.
@@SlanderedGaming Yeah I know! I mean you have zero control over the courtesans in that scene, so it's basically all up to the RNG gods if they survive or not. I do think they are more coded to flee the threats, compared to the Drunk Nobles? But no clue.
First time I played that fight in turn based combat, I secretly was hoping they were all some kind of monastic/brothel sect of monks, and the fact that they were all nekked wouldn't matter, and they'd just start whoopin' butt. Way of the Pleasured Fisting martial style! xD Sadly no, they were just nekked, and running around in a panic.

@@mduckernz I think the trick, is to prioritize the enemies in order of initiative. Regardless of distance and other factors. If you can simply kill them before they get to move, you will keep pushing the number of attacks so far back down the roster, that very few of them will have a chance to go, and thus less likely to hit a courtesan? *shrugs* That's usually my standard operating procedure on who to focus fire in combat, assuming there isn't some priority enemy with a nasty ability that I want to remove ASAP. That might help you accomplish it.
So complicated….yet still easier than falling in love with a fey….
Tbh I feel like the normal ending to some paths are just as good even a little better. Though it was a nice surprise for a secret ending.
Yeah the Fey was definitely harder than this. I like that the regular endings are so different so you can actually get enjoyment from both versions.

how about a guide for things like Saving all the Courtesans for the "Truly Important Deed" achievement. Do you just save before the fight and try it over and over again until the Courtesans don't wind up charging into a bunch of Dretches?
Or getting fireballed by the wizard before you can do anything about it?
or make their fear save and charge the enemies?

Out of curiosity, what class did you play as when getting thid ending? Im thinking of going angel oracle but those skill checks needed (specially the perception ones) make me consider something like master of all rogue angel haha
I have achieved ascension as an Alchemist, Cruoromancer, and a Priest.
I can say that, so far so good following this guide. My only concern is accidentally using a midnight bolt instead of cold iron arrows since both look similar xD
Unless it's a bug, the year doesn't matter for when you go into Threshold, just the month and week. One of the guides said someone managed it during 4716. I'm aiming for ascension during my current playthrough, on track so far, playing Azata though so no trickster/demon crystal and I gave an attempt at nenio's quest my first try around and gave up part way through, it was pure torture. So guess I'll save just before the final choices and have one ending where I ascend with my party and one where I ascend with areelu to get the 2nd best endings.
My understanding is you can only enter in 4716 or 4717. If you miss 4717 you are screwed.
Just as an FYI, I followed this (and the other one on steam) I thought pretty closely lol. I got the ascension ending, but the Pulura shrine at Threshold was not there for me and did not stop me from getting the ending.

I find your guides very helpful and wanted to say that because u helped me with your guide 3 times already with how to sort my army how to build in drezen and also the secret cave entrance in monastery... U are always str8 forward for some old noobs like me lol... I have 2.5 questions lol half cause last is more your opinion... 1 you mention in your guide if we want to play angel we should better not ask narah to help... By that you mean not ask her from act 2 when we discover she works for the demons or later in game before fighting the guy with the hostages? Second question is the deskari fight when u say someone should pick up his crystal essense u mean like start the fight and send one of my toons pick up his essense? Would u make a video in the future doing this fight just to have an idea and the half question.. I usually play on core without huuge problems but u are much more experienced than me and did a run on normal for this ending... Do you think I should do normal instead? Is this ending considerably more hard on core? Ty

1. Don't ask for Nurah's help in Act 2. Just discover and jail her.
2. When you shoot the midnight bolt at Deskari, a crystal will drop onto the ground. You then need to have a toon manually pick that crystal up BEFORE THE FIGHT ENDS. Otherwise it will fall through the floor and you will miss the opportunity to get it.
3. Core is considerably harder than Normal. I don't play on Core because I refuse to play harder difficulties on games that are bugged and I don't like playing harder difficulties when I am going through a game for the first time. I want to focus on the story not the mechanics. Which one works for you depends on what appeals to you most in a playthrough. If you want the challenge by all means stay on Core. If the challenge is grinding your nerves and makes you enjoy the game less then bring it down to Normal. Whatever works for you my friend.

Don't know I honestly haven't tested this.
I think I locked myself out of it by breaking the wand in Act 2 in leepers smile. This means I do not get to Zacharius and do not get one of the elven notes.
A patch removed the elven note from that location and placed it somewhere else. Also you do not HAVE to complete Storyteller's quest to ascend it just makes things easier.

@@SlanderedGaming I completed it with angel. It just doesn't make sense for good mythic paths (angel, azata and dragon). I would take the test of starstone like Iomadae and Cailean, instead of using the crystal. This ascension makes my angel KC a power hungry god despite which really opposite for most of her actions. However, for a trickster and a lich would make sense for me.
I also expected that Iomadae or Noticular should show up during the last conversation. Ember didn't like godhood but she still took ascension meanwhile my Nenio rejectet it.
I just wish Owlcat will provide the test of starstone for the proper ascension as DLC.
So i have a question for everyone: which ending is harder to get? This one or the Nyrissa ending in Kingmaker.
