    Looking for the latest info on this for my 2023 Husqvarna 701 supermoto - my rear 160/60 r17 Contiattack SM EVO are great, but already showing signs of close to bald (seeing the chords) at 2400 miles :(.
    Looking for something comparable and will give me some more miles! Can’t find any Contiattack SM EVO in stock anywhere here in Orange County.

      More grip = less life. Michelin Power 5 is arguably just as good, but lasts a bit longer. The Michelin Road 5 or 6 is, IMO the best compromise between tread life & grip if you ride on the street at all.

    Hey man good video, im watching bc the rear tire on my 03 sx is a solid band of cables on its entire circumference.
    Do you think any of the tires you mentioned would be a good match on my bike? Its a 525sx. I bought it with 30 hrs on a new rebuild.
    The previous owner raced it at gocart circuit tracks, therefore It had everything short of forced induction already done to it when I got it- 570cc w/11:1 ratio. Head smoothed stg. 2 cam, Kibblewhite 1mm overesize valves, full akrapovich exhausr...accelerater pump mod... aaaand...17"s w/ battle axe street tires finally... it was converted to a 6spd using 5th &6th gears from an MXC.
    Idk what ratios were used, but there's too much torque to use 1st gear any longer than a millisecond.
    It's the only bike I've had since my little 50cc back in 2nd grade. To me it seems unstable compared to the few 600cc sport bikes I've rode.
    Sometimes I get a little rear wobble as i transition from being upright to the beggining of a corner. Also iver never done a burnout or anything like that but you can tell I'm shredding the tire when I start off hard and go to 6th.
    Btw I'm 170lbs and the bikes around 260lbs, Should I lean towards a harder or softer tire to get the most traction when riding through the dozens of sharp steep, hard banking corners that run through my neck of Mark Twain National Forest? Thanks for wading through all this text btw.

      Haha! NP! Well, I personally don't take my sumo off road, so if that's your goal, you'll have to ask on a forum or something, because I've only put road tires on mine. I *just* put the Michelin Pilot Road 5's on it. So far, loving them for the street!

    Would the Michelin pilot road 4/5 work on a lighter bike (300lbs) or would I have to go with something stickier?

    • @kornflakez
      @kornflakez  5 років тому +1

      They will work just fine - my bike is about 320lbs wet, and I run with about 25lbs of air in the rear, and about 28lbs in the front. I am getting kinda fat though, so you could drop a few pounds of air in the tires if you wanted :)
