As a junior in college, I can confirm all these tips are essential. Unfortunately with my luck, I got severely sick throughout my first semester and people formed friendships and groups without me as I was stuck in my dorm and hospital. I’ve been an introvert wannabe extrovert so being lonely isn’t new, but it feels so inhumane at college. Please be outgoing your first year, I promise you have the time if you put in the effort to. Personally, because my luck always gets me alone I decided to go crazy with classes so I can graduate a year early and study for my MCAT
So sorry to hear about your experience :( but honestly, many people find their closest friends after college. Also, seems like you're CRUSHING it academically. Best of luck with the MCAT!!

I'm going to college in August and this was very helpful. Confirmed a lot of my suspicions lol. Also your editor is insane😂. The TV scene was something else.
My college started in late July this year and I got sick after 2 days of going to college. I'm a little introverted with wanting to be extroverted. Luckily I met some people and kinda became friends with them, I'm grateful that I didn't just lock myself in my room. I'm currently sick now with 2 days of not going to college. Wish me luck with a speedy recovery. Also the advice given in the video is the same as my older sister gave me. Glad I listened to her and went out and found some friends. I also want to give one more piece of advice 'don't get sick in the first week of college'
I'm going into my senior year and I want to make a quick note on the friendship one. In the video, he says that the friends past month 2-3 are going to be your friends for the rest of college. I just want to add that that doesn't have to be true. The main group of friends I hung out with freshman year were not the kind of people I wanted to be around and I found it draining to hang out with them sometimes. Due to this, sophomore year I slowly phased myself out of the group and made new friends. I still talk to a few people from that original group and I have some fond memories with them, but overall I am so much happier with my new group of friends. All this is to say, don't be afraid to leave your first friend group. Don't force yourself to stick with an old group just because you happened to have one thing in common. There are plenty of opportunities in college to start anew or try something different.
I'm finally entering my senior year of college in about six weeks. It's already taken me five years for my computer engineering undergrad and I have one year left. This video has some very nice reminders 😅. Thanks Gohar!
@@OhmShankar-xu2kw I feel like the advice I give is kinda basic, but focus on a few extracurriculars so that you seem passionate. There are lots of people that try to do everything which can look unfocused I think.

as a new student in my university, I can tell that all these tips helps me a lot. Once you unpack and go to dorm then your family says goodbye and all taht stuff, truly makes you feel alone. by watching this video trully lift up my spirit and try to overcome those challenges.
As a senior in college who is graduating in December, take all this advice. I took advantage of getting to start a new life for myself in college. People from high school wouldn’t even be able to know what I’m up to because I go by a different name. I started working out for the first time, just as he said, you have more time and a free gym on campus. Talk to everyone during the first weeks, but also throughout your entire 4 yrs, because you never know who’s going to be a friend for life unless you get yourself out there. I was not that extroverted in high school, but in college, I turned that around. Also, in terms of going to class, find a classroom acquaintance in every class, you’ll realize that you’re not alone in struggling and will have someone to help you through it. This is especially something I learned quickly as an engineering major. Don’t do it alone. College was very nerve racking in the first month because it was the first time I was ever alone, but you grow up fast, learn a lot about yourself, and you’ll figure it out. It’s a great time of your life, so make the most of it.
glad i found this video i just arrived at my dorm and have 2 days before college starts.. and and i agree there is noone to wake you up, cook for you and noone to tell you what to do then when i finally got to my room it hits me hard...saying goodbye to my parents and i silently cried in my room.. i just hope i meet people i can trust when my first day finally starts

Nope, went to law school and graduate school all while still living at home with my parents. Only drastic changes for me were taking the bus there and back and buying supplies, including books, completely on my own. But already in Middle school I had to wake up alone with the alarm clock or else I'd get punished, same goes for knowing when to study and when to sleep.

With the first point: I’m what most people see as an introvert, and I haven’t made any friends in the 6 weeks I’ve been in class. Everyone came to my school with their friend groups from high school… except me. I just can’t walk up to someone and be like, “hey, what’s your name, where are you from, etc.” because it’s just not how I am. Every level of school has been harder and harder for me to make friends and this time, no one’s even trying to make friends since they already have theirs.
