NTOICE! Yes, there is a button that popped up when I looked at the VBox Guest Additions virtual CD that offers to run the software. I didn't see it at the time 'cause I was looking for a pop-up. It doesn't matter anyway, the software would not have run due to several reasons.

I installed Debian 12 on my main machine yesterday. I'm super happy with the adjustments they have made. One thing they have done is adding a non-free repo. As well as letting me select SDDM for my display manager and giving us a good selection of up to date DE's. And finally, Debian has actual flatpak support,

@@AndersJackson no, actually, drivers are in the linux kernal. What Debian 12 did was move most non-free firmware from the 'non-free' repo to a new 'non-free-firmware' repo. I triple read the release notes which are as follows:
"While it's not mentioned explicitly in either the Social Contract or Debian Policy yet, a new archive area was introduced, making it possible to separate non-free firmware from the other non-free packages:
      non-free-firmware
Most non-free firmware packages have been moved from non-free to non-free-firmware in preparation for the Debian 12 release. This clean separation makes it possible to build official installation images with packages from main and from non-free-firmware, without contrib or non-free. In turn, these installation images make it possible to install systems with only main and non-free-firmware, without contrib or non-free"

If you need a "12 things to do just after install" video then it's probably not good for the people Joe thinks about. Which is good, we need more people in the Linux community thinking of the new user or users who don't want to funk around too much.

      @@punkrockllama,
Yeah, I get it. Here comes the inevitable "but" 🙂 ....BUT...instead of Joe "rushing" through things, if he had just read some of the "instructions" / "information" during the installation some of his questions / gripes may have been answered. It seems like this video, for Joe, was more of a "Oh Debian 12 came out. Interesting. Let's have a look. I haven't uploaded much in a while, so lemme record it as well and put it out as a 'first/quick look' video". Y'know what I mean? Whereas Jay's video (which includes a full installation walkthrough) is more geared as a guide / tutorial.
Lemme just be clear, though: There's absolutely nothing wrong with Joe's videos. I'm a long time subscriber. If I didn't like his content, I wouldn't be. I like his off-the-cuff style. I'm grateful for what I've learned from him 🙂 (My initial comment wasn't meant as a dig at him. My comment was more along the lines of, "Oof, he's missed some stuff that may have left a better impression." As mentioned, I happened to watch Jay's videos before Joe's and he explains everything a little better. [And yes, again, I understand that it's different content. I would "argue" though, that it's actually the other way around: Jay's *videos are a guide/tutorial for beginners, Joe's is a "first look".])
      * pertaining to Debian 12 specifically, in this case
Contrary to "internet/youtube culture", my comment wasn't meant as an insult to Joe.
(Joe, if you're reading this, I apologize if it came across that way. It 100% wasn't meant to be 🙂 )
