I think that Nana (in the Farang (aka "Western") world view/sense/mentality) meant "Grandmother, Grandma, and/or Nana." I think that there was a Sports Bar, next to Hooters behind a Brown (LED) sign... this was when I last visited Bangkok in February 2019...
Great informative video on short term rentals. He had to pick the 1st one at his age, pool, view, location, efficient use of space, and convenient to BTS, smart man. I can see why Chris is successful, gives the people what they want, is direct to the point, provides useful, informative information, a glimpse of the surrounding area and in a fun manner points out some things that might not be as appealing to others. I think people are willing to help Chris because they can tell he is a genuine, nice, caring person who shows respect to others.
This is such amazing work and great value you provide to everyone around you, viewers, you family, landlords, agencies! Well done Chris! You're a real pro and an inspiration! That 100k is coming at you fast, faster than you think!
Love the neighbourhood of the 3rd option. Love the local feel and architecture. A two-room townhouse would suit me fine. Lat Phrao, I will file that away for the future.
Lat phrao is a good area with 2 large shopping malls and subway access.just a couple of stops to chatachuk park for the weekend market and the park, not that far to don mueang airport also.🙏
The start of a love affair with Thailand for Adam. He'll never be the same. He'll be better. I was 10 years older then him when I took my first trip to Thailand, and have never stopped loving that country. It really is my 2nd home and I'll never forget the voice on the BTS announcing Nana. 🧘🏻❤️
LOL the Nana announcement from the BTS is truly iconic. I frequent bangkok once a month before the pandemic brought international travel to a standstill and I always stay at Nana area so this brought back alot of nostalgia.
I've been going to Thailand for 22yrs now..;0) except for my earlier years, I tend to use Bangkok as my start and end point. But your changing my mind Chris.. I'm blown away by the choice for 17,000bht in BKK. Thanks Chris
Excellent information. I'm 63 years old. I will be retiring in 4 months and I have always wanted to go to Thailand. I have been all through Cambodia. And I loved it! But I have heard that the Thailand people are wonderful. So, I'm ready to make the decision to move to Thailand 🇹🇭. Thanks for the fantastic recon!
Woww everything had changed. Bangkok is the one of the big city is never sleep. I left this place for 10 years now. I will be back home soon. I missed everything over there but never thought to go back to retire in this city. Your channel is really helpful for people who want to retire in Thailand. 👍🤩🥳
I go with Adam with the 1st choice , it's a little small but very cosy and it's furnished , nice view and awesome infinity pool. The 3rd option , the rent is almost free for such an enormous house , but no furniture. Good choice Adam !! you won't regret .
All three are great options. Option three is great for a longer-term, but I don’t know what I would do with all that space by myself. For a one month, I like the first two options. Location and size better on option two. Nana is in the middle of all the action, yet you would still get your privacy. Love the amenities in Ekkemai.
I have been to BKK many times (7/8 times a year), I like your choice of places...but for a single guy, Ekkamai is your crib. I stay in On-Nut nearby and that’s about 10-12 K., shopping, markets, BTS, fight gyms and easy access to Bangkok’s nightclubs that Farangs have never heard of nearby with lots of beautiful local ladies...love BKK. This video made me homesick.
Brilliant Chris, only today I contacted Remax only to be informed they sell condos only. So this video is perfect well done. We subscribe to your channel and enjoy all your Videos. .
Thank you Mr. Parker. As a regular traveler to Thailand for last twenty years this video makes really useful for me. Now I know where to live. As soon as the walls of Covid fall, I will be back. Hope we can meet.
I often stay in omni towers when I’m in Bangkok. Normally just for a few nights but it’s often discounted on the various accom hooking sites. Close to the action but far enough away to be quiet. They have a complimentary tiuk tuk to nana station as well.
PERFECT content, Chris! I'll be retiring in a few years and splitting my time between Southeast Asia (fall thru spring) and Eastern/Southern Europe (spring thru fall) , so the short-term rental scene has been my biggest interest, especially since I'll probably mix it up by hopping between Bangkok and other cities every 1 to 3 months between November and April.
I'm three years from retirement and have never thought of this arrangement. I was looking at purchasing property in southern France but your idea seems so much more realistic and doable. I'm glad I saw your comment, now I can try convincing my wife. 😁
Those are some really tough choices but I like the last one because of the surrounding people and businesses anyway thanks again for taking so long. Stay safe. From the US
I love the neighborhood and the vibe. So much cheaper, in reality, due to the cost of food. Seriously nice. But way too big for one person, so I would do the second one. Just me, don't need the space. The Airbnb idea is fabulous. You need to take your time to find the right fit and an airbnb gives you that slow time for good decisions.
Chris - great video!! What I LOVE about your approach is that you "Laugh and Learn" = LaL. Keep these great videos coming - as you have a great talent and it seems that you are having fun along the way!
Trane is excellent HVAC company for your Split AC unit, I know cause I had 98 units installed years back, and they are still going strong. Excellent video Chris.
Love this channel!! Even I am Thais 🇹🇭but I never see all these places that your presentation.🙏 Thank you for making a good content in Bangkok, Thailand 💚🥰😇
Used to be a great little corner bar where that Hooters on Sukhumvit Soi 4 is now. I remember touring the Omni in the 90's. It was a nice place then and still looks like a great value. Thanks, Chris. (Edited) Wow, just realized you're not too far from 100K subs! Congrats, Chris!
I stayed at that Rhythm condo a few times. I like that area with the Gateway mall right there and easy BTS access. One issue I have had at these modern condos in Bangkok is the regular sewage smell in the condo itself. Probably about 1/3 of the condos seem to have this smell. A wet towel put over the drain in the shower seems to help a little but I've never really understood the cause of it. I can only assume maybe bad plumbing, All the places I've stayed that had it were relatively new high rise condos. I've only stayed at modern condos so I don't know if older places have the same issue. Curious if others notice this as well and if anyone has an idea of why this occurs.
@@mrmartin2079 I once watched a full video on the best sushi places in Japan. I don't even like sushi. So sure, a full video on it will be great but it is more about the storyline. I also don't know who you are or trust your information.
Chris all you videos are very indepth informative and at the same time hilarious. Your videos really make my day. Appreciate it. Ladprao is the area i was residing at for two years during 2015 to 2015. I was few hundred meters from Union Mall. Thanks again
Good choice, the more space the more you have to clean up lol. I have a place by On Nut and itʻs a modern condo but the neighborhood has open markets and markedly local feel.
Thanks for such a timely video! Really nice to see a different take on condo tours. We're currently on the same kind of hunt as Adam - except looking for a long term stay - and hadn't considered the "neighborhood" option before this. Great work CEO Chris!!!
Hailey is gorgeous! ❤️ And I really enjoy your videos. You are so much fun to watch. My hubby and I are coming in March from South Africa. 🇹🇭 Is our hearts new home. Specially CNX. We will Quarantine in Bangkok. Looking forward being in the land of smiles!
So it was you! I thought i saw you at gateway walking towards the bts. Was coming out of the ramen place for lunch and there you go with your trademark walk 😆 Great neighbourhood indeed! Wer staying at Nusasiri grand condo! Just moved to thailand, bangkok a little over two months ago from Hk. Been following you and binging on your videos! Chris , thank you always for sharing the good price advantage places !!! THis is great cuz for the people outthere who wanna live short term in BBK ,,, LIKE ME lol would love these kind of infos !!!! thanks again! Have a good day , shout out from S. Korea , MR. LEE ^^ lol
Thanks, just found what I was looking for short term rental, received covid shots, ready to go, now just wait for Thai Gov. to open up, 14 days quarantine is not an options. 15 years since my last visited BKK.
Exactly for a young man is option N1, with these amazing facilities. He will will sleep only there. For option N2 is the perfect spot for old papa drinking all day long and party with the freelancers right next to Nana plaza and Hooters in Soi 4.Option N3 is the best for a family.
Hi, from Chicago. Great video! Apartment #1, Rhythm Condo is the best! Can you do more of these short terms rentals (3-6 months)? I'm learning so much from you. Thank you, Chris!
House was nice - outside the main area. The 2nd one looked nice, but not sure Id want to be in such a touristy area. The First one had the nicest ameneties but bit too small i think.
I have a one bedroom unit at Edge 23. It is in the same soi as yours and can walk to the public transportation and T21 with no need of an umbrella. The usual rent is between 25 to 28,000 bhat. I can rent it to Adam for 20,000. The utility and WiFi are not included though. Unfortunately, it is over his budget. If he is interested, just let me know.
The original Voice saying “NANA” on the BTS was a GREAT idea to put it on this video! So creative of you, Chris!

@@jameslothian2978 thanks for the tips. Looks like a good area to settle into for a month or more. Not as much chaos but with all the conveniences.
But traffic is the worst there, until the rail is ready.
This is one of your best videos, it's simple and not too much editing. As well as showing pure info is the goal.
Best thailand format I've seen up to this point. Keep up the great work
Thanks, will do!
number 1 Thailand youtuber in my opinion! Keep it up!!

Your videos keep getting better. Can't wait to get back to Thailand. Pro tip: check the hot water and pressure before renting.
Congrats on the 100k. Probably the fast leap to 100k amongst similar vlogging content focused in Thailand.

Can you make a video about the process that Adam has to go through in order to rent the actual apartment? Or what all he needs etc?
I am going to guess its pretty easy right now. I think landlords are desperate for tennants at this time.
Great video Chris. Agree with James that a video to show the process of renting short term apartment would be nice. Thanks
It's the same as any asian city - 2 months deposit and sign your name -- you really need a full video about this ??🙄

Another excellent video, Chris. Thanks! I hadn't been considering older buildings but now I will.
if you do, you can find better than the one in this video i think.
Great work Chris. Just the video I was waiting for. I would also choose number one. Room just has that cozy feel to it for a good price per month.

Great Video Chris, those options were a great cross section and was really helpful
Glad it was helpful! I wanted to show a variety of 'categories'.

Can you do a video on Bangkok parks when possible!🙏
yeah i will. i have featured several of them in previous videos but not a video all about parks.
