Have played through the game over half a dozen times, tbh it gets even better after the first play through. And the two hunters to the right of the Cathedral are really not that bad.. did you play past there or was that where you called it quits?

That cannon killed me the first time too. I had no idea what the hell it was. Everything just blew up and I died despite nearly having full health. I was being very cautious and thorough at that point and luckily got my blood echoes back, but still. So many areas were like that - they just obliterate you the first time.
ForcesOfOdin nah. Loading times are laughable. Pvp sucked & grinding vials can make early game a (an?) annoying grind. BB definitely has its flaws. Still a pretty damn good game. 5/7. edit: also: i dont know how it is with newer playstations but mine (first edition on the market) always became a jet engine 15 mins into the game. It would get louder than my tv in a long session. Shit was ridiculous. The game really did push the hardware to its limits.
True Pride Life not replenishing is a great feature. It encourages a more voracious playstyle instead of turtling and dodging until your health comes back. Farming Blood Vials is gay af tho, especially when you are grinding a boss. In many cases it would've been superior design to have enemies that drop vials on the "quick path" to the boss.
True Pride it is like that because of the lore. Blood vials are a precious commodity in this world, that's what turned whole Yharnam to shit man, that's why it would be ass design to have it replenished all the time. just teleport to central yharnam/cleric beast boss lamp and kill the werewolves and giants, rinse and repeat. also "checkpoints are trash because you have to be on your toes all the time" is the most retarded thing ive ever read. you having to be on your toes all the time is kinda the point. thats what seperates an inconsequential shitty rpg and a horror-esque action game dripping with atmosphere to glue you in to the world.

I know it's three years later, but I just started playing this game, and it has been ridiculously fun and addictive. Not many games can be hard enough to make me retry a boss fight for 5 hours and still keep my chomping at the bit to play more.

Blood vials are a precious commodity in this world, that's what turned whole Yharnam to shit man, that's why it would be ass design to have it replenished all the time. just teleport to central yharnam/cleric beast boss lamp and kill the werewolves and giants, rinse and repeat.
also "checkpoints are trash because you have to be on your toes all the time" is the most retarded thing ive ever read. you having to be on your toes all the time is kinda the point. thats what seperates an inconsequential shitty rpg and a horror-esque action game dripping with atmosphere to glue you in to the world.

I know it's three years later, but I just started playing this game, and it has been ridiculously fun and addictive. Not many games can be hard enough to make me retry a boss fight for 5 hours and still keep my chomping at the bit to play more.
