OMGosh, I bought tomato powder for a fortune and it got like a rock. I wanted more to store better. I have made other powders, yet it never occurred to me to make my own from tomato sauce. Thanks.

Did you happen to vacuum seal the tomato powder? I made that mistake a while back. 🤦‍♀️ Hope you try & enjoy it!

Did you say you have a freeze dryer too? Would you still prefer dehydrating over freeze drying for tomato powder?

I do. Hmm…that’s a tough one. I think the freeze dried tomato slices powder more finely than a dehydrator, which I like.
But I think my favorite, quickest way to produce powder is doing tomato sauce in a regulator dehydrator.

Thinking of purchasing an Excalibur … I know you said 7+ trays … is there a wattage recommendation needed too?

      I don't really have a wattage recommendation. My Excalibur is a 400-watt though. :)
