Just bought my Bren 2. Compared it to the SCAR, MCX, Tavor and a few others. I couldnt be happier with my choice. If youre on the fence for buying one. This is your sign. BUY ONE
Here in Canada SCARS are prohibited so this seems to be the closest choice for a enthusiast to compare to. After tax $3,800 CAN . Very limited stock Can't wait to have a side by side function test between my X95 and Bren2 comparing reliability and accuracy. Two thumbs up on the informative video 👍👍
I just placed my order for a Bren 2 Ms yesterday :) I can't wait to receive it. I actually paid $4700 haha plus tax; for them to install a 18.6" barrel and new handguard. I wonder what the barrel length was for the rifle in this video?
Great video! First one that popped up on Gunbroker was for $1850. I should have snatched it up. This one reminds me of the Bushmaster ACR with the way it looks. I do wish they shipped with the military profile barrel and handguard
@@apb2887 I don't think the new handguard is "ugly" per se, but I do find the handguard on the Bren 2S's much more attractive. The Bren 2S's (military version) basically had the same handguard as the one on the 805. Sucks major ass that CZ only imported 300 of those units to the U.S.. CZ-USA wanted a more modular weapon so they came up with the Bren 2 MS handguard. Which carried over to the carbine unfortunately. Either way, im good with it and I'm sure CZ will continue to improve the design. We just need to get enough people to petition for a variation of the old handguard lol.
If anyone is in the Tampa area, shoot straight in pinellas Park has bren 2 pistols and an OG bren carbine for 1900. I bought the last bren 2 carbine yesterday but the 805 carbine made it a hard choice
Just purchased from Modern Sportsman. (June 2021). Been waiting a year for them to be in stock to purchase. I've seen it and held it, but still have to wait a week or more for the transfer to be completed by the state. Only 1600 odd transfers ahead of me. The packaging looks the same, although the cleaning kit now comes in a much nicer zippered case. Not enthused by the magazines, just too tinny for me, will be getting some polymers.
I have the extender and it doesn't fix the issue. You can avoid the mounting screws if you're paying attention but I'm betting you will hit it more often than not :)
I didn't think the Bren 2 had a "supressed" gas setting? I thought it was "Normal", "adverse", and "off". That's what the manual says for my Bren 2 pistol anyway
Got mine and had to immediately fill out a warranty claim. Had a chipped part on the inside of the buttstock where it opens. Will see how cz handles it
I have one being delivered today. I found it for $1900 + shipping with no credit card fee (yes that matters too lol) There are not too many 556 carbines out there for sale. I am wondering how their prices are going to be effected if a new import ban on "assault rifles" will be implemented by the current administration.
Have you had any issues with your mag well? My Bren seems harder to load than any of my AR’s. It seems to catch on the magazine catch tab in the mag well.
I had this same issue in the beginning it gets better after you hit the range a couple times. Also just by practicing reloads. It’s smooth now. Also my bolt release and safety were super stiff at first but those also smoothed out.
How do you like the Bren compared to your Ar's as far as shootability and function? I'm on the fence on which way to go and I need some opinions to tip the scale lol. Thanks
If there’s one feature I don’t like about my AK’s, it’s the charging handle on the right side. The Galil Ace solved that issue. Have three of them now.
@@TheArmedScotsman That's cool, I'm from Ireland myself trained to become a gunmaker in Germany and just received my green card so emigrate next week. Thanks for the simple to understand and straight forward video on the Bren 2. CZ seems to have quite a good following. And their quality is apparent.

@@kelstr Looks like 16.5". I'd like to get mine with the 16.5 and add the 15.8" handguard. How was the wait time?
Plain and simple, Cz makes good firearms.
Agreed on your review. I love mine and it's so freaking nice to shoot it. Super light too. I got mine in May from Preppergunshop.

I agree. This handguard is ugly as shit imo
@@apb2887 to each their own. Mine looks badass

Interesting... The cleaning kit that came with yours is different than mine. Same contents inside though.
that is weird.
and it does not coming with that stock, stock harder to find than the gun itself.
Hbindustries makes a charging handle extender that’ll fix that knuckle problem hitting the mount

Beautiful rifle and good takes
Is this the 16.5” Bren 2? Compared to your 11” Bren 2, the gas block on the 16.5” is further up the barrel compared to shorter barrel Bren 2 right?
The charging handle is reversible, or you could reverse the scope mount so the screws are on the opposite side.
Good for us southpaws.
I didn't think the Bren 2 had a "supressed" gas setting? I thought it was "Normal", "adverse", and "off". That's what the manual says for my Bren 2 pistol anyway
Boy is you dumb?!!
This is the Carbine. Not the 2MS/S.
You can get an extended charging handle for it to help with the scope.
Is there a way to adjust the comb height ? Is the scar style or replaceable strap like on a handgun?

Gun is at cz. They sent me a shipping label

Get a Leap mount from Scalarworks. Problem solved and it's a better mount too. 😎

Does a Magpul AR15 sling fits nicely?

I really like the Brens, maybe more than my custom ARs. It's a tough call. If you have an AR already grab a Bren for sure. Good luck on choosing
i sold my custom built AR after buying my Bren. Its my favorite rifle i have now. i dont even pick up my SCAR anymore.
Why not running it like an ak and switch the charging handle to the other side?
I just prefer it on the left. I don't personally like it on the right side.
If there’s one feature I don’t like about my AK’s, it’s the charging handle on the right side. The Galil Ace solved that issue. Have three of them now.
having it on the left side when shooting right handed is the superior way to shoot. Why the AK47 has it on the right i will never understand.
Looks great! Haven’t seen them available yet 😑
Are you originally from Scotland?
Sure am. Moved here 16 years ago.

So, has anyone drilled out a 3rd/suppresed hole/gas setting???
The carbine has a gas setting its the pistio version that doesn't.
Just turn the mount the other way...
