It should be noted that Tatooine was turned into a desert planet due to the natives staged a popular uprising, causing the Rakatans to retaliate by turning the whole planet's surface into glass, which then shattered and became sand.
Without the sand people, the Republic wouldn't be made.
I also read that the species on Tattooine that were the top species were tortured & destroyed by the Rakata & devolutionized into what we know now are Sand People & Jawas
Still one of the coolest alien races in Star Wars. I wish more was done with them.
agreed wish the dawn of the jedi comics got continued, they were cool in that series. i wish kotor 3 could've been made, who knows they may have shown up in it

I loved the dawn of the Jedi comics and the conflict w the Rakata, and how they later appeared in KOTOR and the bane books, great video as always, I liked the new music at the beginning! I wish we could’ve got more Dawn of the Jedi comics

Thank God this is all still Legends content. Somehow I feel Disney's sorry excuse for "Canon" would ruin this ok so many levels.

I believe it was also due to the Rakata having genetically modified themselves, the plague that stripped them of the force was why it spread so rapidly and is among the many reasons they fell so quickly
