Perfect video just in time, I've been getting physical therapy for my shoulder and I came to realize yesterday that some of the pain if not most of the pain was from biceps tendonitis! Like I said, perfect timing!
I LOVE YOU TWO SO VERY MUCH! I’m not sure what I did but this morning in the shower I was vocalizing the pain which means it was an 8 pain wise. I needed help drying myself! Just having those couple minutes of no pain was FANTASTIC! Thank you so very much!!!! I discovered in 2020 that nearly every tendon in my body is tight. Every time I work on one area another one gets aggravated. It’s frustrating but as I repair the 41 years of neglected tendons the pain is lessening. Thanks so very much for all your informative videos!
Guys, this video is brilliant! Strained my arm the other day through over exertion pruning a tree! Treated it as a pulled muscle but by yesterday was in agony. Then, I came across your video, realised I had damaged the tendon so did the exercise twice before bed; the pain had decreased a lot so did not have to take painkillers. Woke 3 times in the night and did the exercise again each time. When I woke in the morning, the pain was about level 2 but still with some soreness. Will continue with the exercise whilst it heals, but I am so glad I watched your video. Thank you.
I thought I pulled the muscle today, now I think it's the tendon. Looking forward to seeing if this works. What they said and did makes perfect sense: looking forward to trying this.
@@fernandom783 It didn't for me. I didn't try it for more than a few days though. I literally could not do the exercise exactly as shown as it was too painful, but did the best I could. I absolutely did not have the range of motion to do this exercise. A few weeks later, after one especially painful aching night (I learned the true meaning of _ache_ !) , I went to the doctor. Got a corticosteroid shot a week ago. That has helped. But the bottom line (for me at least, I totally can't speak for others): it's a slow healer and the doctor hinted it could take months. My age might matter at 68: the older we get the longer it takes to heal. The exercise might be more useful now than when I first pulled it. Part of the pain was undoubtedly from some swelling (though the swelling was never obvious in my case), pushing the tendon out of its normal spot. And I know that, after hearing the doctor explain the snap/crackle/pop (yay Rice Krispies, lol) that I also got moving it around. If that is the case, the exercise wouldn't do much where the swelling was concerned. So I'll bottom line it now and say that the exercise probably works, but that right after the initial injury, you should apply cold to keep the swelling down, and then a day later start applying heat in addition to the exercise. Since I did neither, that may be why it's healing more slowly. For me (I feel I have to keep saying that), the best healing has come from simply not using the arm much, resting it as much as possible and certainly not in aggravating it by pulling anything with the arm outstretched. I can pull and lift things with the elbow against my ribs. I should be a bit more detailed and add that the tendon I pulled was in the right deltoid area. And I learned just using my right hand - even for typing as I am right now - tires that deltoid area out and will eventually cause pain too. It's an interesting lesson - and my wife had to point it out. It is interesting how the muscles in the fingers and hand/forearm affect the deltoid area. I'll add one more thing, a lesson aging has taught me that has been a big surprise. Old injuries that I thought were healed from decades ago have come back to say Hi! Still here! So when you're younger, you "heal" in part because the body adapts around the injury, not necessarily that it heals back to its original self. And as we age, we tend to start to lose muscle mass, which for my old injuries seems to be how my body adapted.
My guys, you got yourself a new subscriber that shit works a treat, didn't just show me a stretch but explained each part and why I'm doing this and how it helps. Absolute quality
Thank you guys so much!!! I’ve been suffering with pain on my left arm for a few months and I’m tears over it. Have been looking online for help and came across your video and I got instant relief after the first try. I can finally move my arm again! Thank you so much!!!!
What the? Unbelievable. I have had terrible inner arm pain on and off for a couple of months. Did 2 reps of this exercise and the pain is 90% less. You guys rock!!
I just wanted to say- I have had some sort of a very painful left distal bicep tendon issue for 6 weeks. Lifting weights is like my version of church. It is one the most important things in my life and the most helpful thing for me to relieve stress. Anyway, this injury has been a huge source of stress because it was impacting a lot of my lifts, I had to have my training partner help me lift dumbbells for my overhead presses etc. Anyway, I've been scouring the internet for some remedy and found this video. I tried this stretch last night and then again this morning and sitting here tonight the pain is absolutely gone. I know I still need to take it easy and am not going to go do preacher hammer curls or anything for a little while, but I cannot emphasize how helpful this was to me. Thank you both!
Thank you for making this video! My biceps doesn't hurt anymore. I can go back to the gym tomorrow without feeling so much pain. This video is very helpful!
I literally cannot straighten my arms my biceps feel HARD I only started working out & I bought 30day membership at the gym and I can’t even go like wow ......🤨it’s so painful too
Damm man same here I started gym yesterday and rn I can't even extend my hands fully ,so u got any other solution of this problem in this whole month or shall I try this technique mentioned in video
Guys that was amazing, thank you. I've tried heat/cold, anti inflammatory, everything I could think of and this was the first thing that helped appreciably. Keep it up!
I was doing push ups and all of a sudden I heard a pop in my right bicep and now it hurts and my bicep 'disappeared' and now when I flex the bicep peak is no longer visible.
I’m 60 and decided to climb over a 6 foot gate I couldn’t open. On the way down I used my arms in ways they’ve never been used. 😂 Couldn’t straighten my arms! The pain! This REALLY helps! Always go to Bob & Brad to help with my stupidity. 😉 Hope Bob is well. ❤️
It's ridiculous how well this works. Why did I have to sift through a dozen websites looking for bicep tendonitis rehab techniques before finding this? I started doing this less than 24 hours ago and my pain is 90% gone, not an exaggeration. Wish there was a double thumbs-up button :D
@@snaji9148 probably 2 weeks, where it significantly reduced, but took me really a full year to fully get back to 100%, even now, I can sometimes feel very weak pain, very light pain, but its rare, my advice is look up "cross hatch scar tissue massage" that really really helped, i just did it on my arm when i layed watching TV, now i can train at gym fully normal again
Working at a call center . I have found a lot of discomfort just below the bicep area. I believe the many hours spend moving that mouse is causing the pain. I tried this technique and I honestly felt instant relief. I was in pain for days . Thank you !
go slow and steady. huge weights and getting super sore is not the way to go. make sure you know how and why to do each exercise. us older ppl know from being dumb af ourselves. dont make our mistakes
Not sure if you know this already this helps with the pain but the cause of pain is because you aren’t probating through the throw. So supinate is rotating the thumb out like they showed. Pronating is the opposite. Thumb down through the throw and you’ll get tighter stronger spirals. Hope all is well
At first I thought it was bullshit ..still gave it a try and Guess what …This is the first time i am subscribing..U earned it..100 seconds and 50% pain is gone…
@@kushtrimzogaj2827 oh watching the video definitely helped bc my arms are moving completely normally again. It didn’t solve the problem instantly, but it did provide relief and I think it sped up the healing process. Thank you Bob and Brad!!
"Lie" down. Grammar Girl says a nifty way to remember this is the song "Lay Lady Lay". It is WRONG! You can lay your keys on the bed, lay a book on a table or if you're light enough, someone could pick you up and lay you on the bed but you "lie" down to rest or sleep. You guys are GREAT! Thanks for all the helpful information!
I couldn't believe that I am relived after 3 months of arm and shoulder pain in less than 24 hours. I did this exercises in combination of other exercises in other movie for biceps.
Thank you guys so much, been watching for years, been having a hard time figuring out weather my current pain was rotator cuff or bicep tendonitis and this video helped me realize ive been doing several exercises that could irritate my bicep tendon in the shoulder area, its not very painful, and it was difficult to pin point, but can feel the inflammation. The pain was worse while training so, now i will change some exercises and utilize this, I need the gym and exercise for my mental health and it i destroys my confidence and enjoyment when I get repetitive injuries, ive been doing exercises to prevent rotator cuff tears so it was very upsetting when the shoulder pain came on. Anyway thank you so much 🙌🏼 whats confusing is that I don't feel pain when curling, instead I feel pain when lateral raising or bent over lateral raises
@@bv2799 im about 94% healed , so I have really focused in on how I perform my rotator cuff exercises, I was most likely over extending and hitting the center back more than the actual rotator cuff, its a difficult movement to master , but getting better , I also have been focusing on my lower traps, which is another muscle responsible for helping to keep the shoulder back and down. For a while there I was only training upper traps with shrugs, they are powerful muscles so I can see how easily a muscle balance could occur , its my theory that many injuries such as repetitive ones stem from muscle imbalances , because even when relaxing, the muscles are constantly pulling on your skeleton, so over time and agrivating bad habits like poor posture, or forgetting to train the smaller less noticeable muscles muscle imbalances occur, and tbh that's been the cause of many of my injuries all of which I've been able to recover from and be just as good if not better than before , catch is being self aware enough to catch it early and act to correct before you get past the point of no return , ive had the same injuries come back years later, and new ones pop up and most the time its due to laziness, just not performing the exercises correctly enough , or neglecting the smaller ones like I said. So for now I will continue to strengthen my lower traps & rotator cuff, work on staticly stretching the upper traps( to keep them from pulling my humerus up into my bicep tendon) keep working on shoulder capsule flexibility, and utilizing some of these realease techniques ect, where ever the pain is located, the problem is around it, ive come to notice over the years so any other techniques I pick up along the way I will continue to utilize what I feel is helping and drop what isn't. While remaining patient and consistent. Also utilizing heat to help draw blood to the area and cold to help reduce inflammation when needed. MASSAGE ect also feel like having my arm bent all the time typing on my phone is aggregating aswell. Taking tumeric, msm, ect. Also my left arm is the one I had mrsa infection in that needed surgery and thus a piece of bicep was removed unfortunately, feel like the left side of my body has always been beat up lol also changed my bicep stretching methods to fully supinated
I hate this feeling everytime I go to my first day at the gym and I keep forgetting to switch before and after, but for me I just get a pillow place my arms under it while I lay on my bed. Place my head on above the pillow on the arm that I have the stiff problem(one arm at a time). Keep doing this routine and your arm will be flexible soon
I pulled both my biceps a day or so ago, my arms felt so tight and wouldn’t straighten, anytime i tried to move them there was a sharp pain going from my shoulders all the way to the top half of my forearms. I did the R.I.C.E but the pain was still dormant, so ended up here, after doing the exercise in the video the pain was immediately reduced, thank you very much for the video Bob and Brad😊😁
After doing this my bicep muscle pain actually worsened. I had a left arm bicep pain after lifting a heavy table. I would rather recommend to talk to a physical therapist for this situation.
Thank you. Going to do this today. From 4 months facing this problem. Doctor gives me a vitamin d3 and told me not to do exercise. 2 weeks back while I was doing biceps exercise, pain was completely gone. Performed very well. But again problem come. I am feeling, somewhere I did/doing in a not proper way in exercise biceps .
Thank you for the great info. Much more valuable than what I'm getting now. Going to Therapy for a torn bicep tendon and supraspinatus tear, I am a Pilates instructor that rehabs many body parts and was hoping they would give me specific exercises like you guys just did but sad to say they do not have a clue. It feels like most give everyone that has had surgery or paid the same exercises :(
Had rotator surgery and bicep is what is still painful 5 months later. I actually do this when I wake up at night. I fall back to sleep easily. Never knew it's a technique to heal the bicep too.
49 years old. I've had partial tears, my biceps and strains and everything many many times over the years from over training. Fast forward 49 years old. I decided to start bowling. Having some major thumb socket issues I decided to try no thumb bowling and the first day I tried it, something happened in that area whether it's torn or bicep elbow area. There's some pain in the upper forearm as well. The problem is I joined a bowling league and I'm trying to figure out what to do. I've bowled again the following week because it had felt about 50% better and decided to use two hands instead of one to put less stress on it. It's way worse now, and I felt and heard something in my arm pop yesterday when I was sitting on the couch picking up a cup. I'm wearing a compression sleeve on that joint almost 24/7 now. My question is do I need to quit bowling? This is pretty much the only activity I'm getting right now so I really don't want to quit. Plus I owe the dues regardless if I go
Sorry you’re dealing with that. Had similar but not as acute. Doubt these tips and techniques will 💯 help get you back. Time to heal, proper assessment, and physio. See your doc and get imaging done. Don’t wait for their report, get to a sports physio to start. Good luck!
I injured myself from kickboxing, throwing repetitive hooks and uppercuts with my left arm, also performing curls with dumbells at the gym, and carrying my kids around, eventually it all caught up to me. Thos is super helpful, I'm already feeling so much better after doing this exercise.
My arms currently wont straighten it's so much pain when I do. I've pressed my thumb into the tender area which seems to have helped a little. I hope this technique works
I worked out for years thinking I was a hard gainer, but the reallity is I just had a bad. I then tried the Agoge Diet, and started seeing much faster and better results.
Hey guys for those of you that feel their biceps too tight after a bicep workout. I would suggest rest for a couple of days and then get a full body massage done. Ask the massage person to focus on the bicep area. It's all about blood circulation. This helped for me 🙌🏼
When I did this for rehab I tended to hitch my shoulder up towards my ear. That tendency was from the chronic pain from bone spurs that had been removed. I had to focus to not do that.
The pain doesn’t go up my shoulder, it’s just my forearm and front bicep with a little bit of my tricep like right above the elbow. It’s been only a couple of days since I messed my arm up at work, can a few weeks of rest fully heal my arm?
@@viveksanatani108 based on my experience, at first when I was just getting into workouts and gym, it took me a whole week and a half before I know of this video, now this and many other ways helps alot and once you’re used to it, and from last time this happened, it only took 5 days or less
I will try this and see if it helps. My current issue is all around the elbow with the forearm and bicep. then shooting pains on occasion up my arm to my shoulder. I know it is all related. The most pain is from when lifting a water bottle in a hammer curl position. Mainly the upper 5% of the lift. Also pain when I rotate my from palm up to palm down. As far as I can tell it is mainly a forearm muscle issue. I have been using a thera-band and doing curls and rotations. Trying to move slowly and going through full range of motion. I have also been doing some forearm stretches because that one muscle does feel sore and tight. The majority of the pain is in the lower bicep fully curled upwards making me very weak in the arm. Any suggestions for exercises and or a sleeve to help support the muscles and tendons?? Thanks guys and as always great videos
I hurt my left arm with 10lbs dumbbells Last night, Idid this technique and I can feel the difference, it’s hurts a lot less. I’ll be doing this through out the day. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Great information. I’ve been dealing with this bicep tendon issue for a month now. I’ll put this therapy to use and take off a couple weeks from training. Many thanks for the tips.

Perfect video just in time, I've been getting physical therapy for my shoulder and I came to realize yesterday that some of the pain if not most of the pain was from biceps tendonitis! Like I said, perfect timing!
Wow, a miracle. This fixed the spasmodic pain in my upper arm! I love you!❤
I LOVE YOU TWO SO VERY MUCH!
So what was your out come? Did this work?
@@fernandom783 The tendon didn't repair any quicker, but using this exercise really helped manage the pain.
Wow, had nagging pain for a week. Did this technique for two days and pain is almost gone. Thank you!

Thanks guys you really are the best physical therapists on youtube
This helped because I’m a QB and from repetitive throwing it was hurting like 10/10 pain and this saved me thank you so much 😊
Not sure if you know this already this helps with the pain but the cause of pain is because you aren’t probating through the throw. So supinate is rotating the thumb out like they showed. Pronating is the opposite. Thumb down through the throw and you’ll get tighter stronger spirals. Hope all is well

How are you now?
