I feel weird and old just thinking I was a little kid, watching Gen 3 and playing with their toys, and then watching Gen 4 during my teenage years. Friendship is magic was a huge upgrade from 3 but man, still have love for it.
I feel like there should be around 10-13 seasons in g4 because I feel like they should’ve showed celestia and lunas life in silver shoals like did they get attention or not? How twilight raised the sun and moon, celestias and lunas parents, luster dawn making friends, flurry heart, what happened to Granny Smith, twilight when she was turned into the ruler of equestria like the transformation, and the mane 6s life after twilight leaving them, etc!! There is so much, pinkies wedding, Big Mac becoming a dad, starlights and sunbursts life, pinkies life w lil cheese and cheese sandwich, there is so much to pick up on!

I choose to pretend it simply doesn't exist, the MLP fandom is still keeping G4 alive to this very day with comics, animations, and stories whoch means i also get to pretend that G4 is still being continued and it never ended.

I think G4 should have ended at a nice round 10 seasons rather than just 9. It's kind of a shame (real) that G2 MLP never even got a cartoon. The only MLP Gen that didn't (just the toys, a PC game and some comics briefly), and often people mistake MLP 'My Little Pony Tales' for G2 when actually it just the 2nd part of G1... but maybe if G2 proper was revived & updated a bit, MLP could have it as a lost in-universe era & lore that somehow connects all the Generations together as a missing link or something, that gets rediscovered in a Multi-Generations MLP Movie...
They did get a season 10 in the comics.

I believe this was a good ending for FIM, no need to drag it on anymore.
But then again it would suck for Twilight and the Mane 5 to go entirely. Imo they are the new faces of MLP as a whole and Hasbro wouldn’t forget them either since they made MLP a cashcow for the company. I believe they will return in a future generation albeit a reboot of the series. Twilight Sparkle to MLP is Optimus Prime to Transformers

Although I agree, I still think they could’ve made a few more episodes about some things just so we had answers to things we don’t know yet. For example Flurry Heart, Celestia and Luna, when Twilight became the ruler, and just about the future of Equestria itself when Twilight was still ruling. G5 doesn’t really answer the last one so far.

I believe that friendship is magic should’ve had a 10th season. Because since season nine ended in the same month the show began nine years earlier, it would’ve been nice for it to end on its 10th anniversary.
A 10th season could’ve been a great opportunity to answer some of our questions about Flury heart, luster Dawn and life under Twilight’s rule.
And it would’ve gave us something nice to watch during Covid.

There is no season 10, so they just give season 9 a proper send off to the entire series.
MLP G5 is the weakest, and now, they got a new line in the horse universe known as “Wild Manes”, a new series where they cashed in on the success of “My Little Pony”. The series is now exclusively on UA-cam.

@PBJA89 Everyone would have preferred a season 10 over G5, I think it would be cool if there was a season going over the aftermath of Twilight's coronation and Twilight being the sole ruler of Equestria, maybe see what Celestia, Luna, Cadance, and even Flurry Heart are up to. Maybe even Luna or Celestia giving Twilight tips on how to rule Equestria.
They could of just kept going with FIM, New Characters, Old ones can be used as helpers or side characters. But instead we get, Ugly CGI and the destruction of everything FIM created.
I personally feel every show needs to end because if it goes to long it gets stale. And I was extremely happy with its ending

Maybe an alternate universe My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is instead a mid-90s cartoon and then the show ends in late 2005 or so and then maybe over 10-20 years later after it ended Hasbro would Reanimate and Remaster the earlier seasons in HD similar to N. Sane Trilogy or Reignited Trilogy or Pac-Man World Re-Pac and then they will make a new sequel season to continue the story.
No. G5 shows a very relatable abuse story with Misty, something g4 never explored. It is not just "recycling education".

There is a new web series that landed on UA-cam, and it’s called “Wild Manes”. They’re kicking MLP G5’s butt! This is a completely different series to cash in on the success of “My Little Pony”. They dropped off the first episode last week, and the 2nd episode from Friday. I watched the first two episodes and it was good, and this is where “Wild Manes” is going to be.

I don't hate g5 but it's existence make g4 look unintentionally bad . Example like : how someone dumb as opaline could spoiled Equestria so bad to the point where twilight had to create unity crystals to keep pony kinds from hurting each other that is so dumb this is only one of the example but i believed they're many more .
Opaline is literally a worse diamond tiara let that sink in.
They are trying to tell us that a spoiled brat was stronger then all the villains before her and yet all we see is her being a spoiled brat that cant even compare to what filly twilight did in the episode sonic rainbow!

Why does it feel like that the animation improved more going from gen3.5 to gen4 than going from gen1 to gen3.5?

Lauren Faust was hired to create only two seasons. Hasbro needed the IP going and wanted to sell some merch to little girls. Faust pulled a fast one and made the show all-ages. Hasbro's board was expecting the show's viewer demographic to level off after season 2, but it didn't, it continued to grow. The board was confused by the adult male audience but happy with sales so they let the production team continue on their own. The show ended because Gen 4 did not fit with what Hasbro calls their Brand Blueprints. MLP's Blueprint was created by the Hasbro board and focused on 4-14 year olds. So G5 is only targeted to that age range and not an 'All-ages' demographic.
As to G5 being cannon? The Twilight Sparkle shown in the lighthouse's hologram is not Princess Twilight Sparkle but rather Harmony Sparkle the avatar of the Tree of Harmony. G5 takes place in a pocket dimension, most likely created by Harmony as some form of test.
Twilight from hologram is real Twilight. Hasbro forbade G5 creators to use Twilight's final form
I haven’t been watching much of any broadcasts these days. Did catch a few G5 episodes and YT for snippets.
So why don’t they have a nerdy historian pony in G5 that try to piece together what happened? We have people these days still studying the Roman Empire and Ming Dynasty so why not?
G4 had an Indiana Jones type so where are the explorers for the past? G5 should be like Europe entering a Renaissance rediscovering old knowledge and history. We have dungeons to explore here. What about Tartarus?

Whatever Hasbro does with the franchise, I hope that someone who gets in control if it can see the magic of HOW FiM was produced, the utter success and the factors in terms of design and execution, and find a way to use those essences to make a new show that can do something different or unique, while still having the kind of elements and care put into it that allows anyone to enjoy it, and for it to shine.

This is going to be confusing. So, I don't know how accurate this actually is, but I went to do research on Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. One of the first things that popped up when I googled a question was this wiki on alicorns. In Season 8, the episode titled "Horse Play," we discovered that it took a bunch of unicorns and Star Swirl to raise the sun and the moon, and the process of doing so was draining. When Star Swirl and the other pillars returned in the Season 7 Finale "Shadow Play," we found out that he was Celestia and Luna's old teacher. But anyway, this wiki claimed that Celestia and Luna started out as unicorns, and they had the ability to raise the sun and the moon selectively, hence gaining not only their cutie marks, but they also transformed into alicorns. And in the Season 6 Premiere "The Crystalling," Celestia had said that a born alicorn (referring to Flurry Heart) was something Equestria had never seen before. I'm not sure who wrote it, but the Season Six Premeire and that wiki do not make much sense as multiple websites are saying that Amy Keating Rogers and Lauren Faust have confirmed they were natural born alicorns. Amy Keating Rogers even wrote the "Journal of the Two Sisters" book containing diary entries from Luna and Celestia about their early years as princesses. In the book, it's been a while since I've read it , so I'm not sure if it's implied or if it actually says they were born as alicorns, but it starts out as one of the sisters writing an entry about how Star Swirl, and some of the characters from the tribes during the founding of Equestria came to the sisters. They were already alicorns at that point, but another unusual thing was that they did not have their cutie marks despite being beyond the foal stage. They asked the two to lead Equestria as they were the only of their kind and it seemed like a good idea for the three tribes. So, they did earn their cutie marks from raising the sun and the moon, but they were already alicorns before that.

I think it will be much more interesting and much more fair if Hasbro at least ended MLP by solving all misteries,for example where did Dazzlings go and how did they learned to sing again or how did Discord got away with pretending to be Grogar as shapeshifter? There are even more misteries that aren't solved like where is human Sunset Shimmer,there is every copy of each pony from Equestria to human world and there had to be second Sunset aswell...Well i just think that if Hasbro continued the series it will be better for all of us and the show will still be popular so everyone will be more happy and i mean turning off really popular show just to make a new show for kids,then losing all older fans and public of My little pony is just a big loss...

It wasn't canceled, Hasbro just wanted to go a new direction after the success of the Gen 4 era. Sure it's not as good as the film made it seem, but it is technically a "new generation"
I joined the fandom during the pandemic because I was bored and wanted to watch something new. When I found out it ended 6 months prior, I felt that I’ve missed the boat and to add fuel to my fire, it ended during my final transition year of high school. Seeing Twilight leaving her friends was just a gut punch. I had to sign petitions to get FIM back. When they announced G5, I was utterly devastated. I called G5 the “Cheap Woke Mane 6”, at least it’s ending next year. We should probably hope that G6 would be a reboot of G4 but only time will tell. I mostly moved onto Bluey.

Season 9 is the last season.
Hulu got rid of season 9 since late January, because of the merger with Disney+. In addition to season 9, Hulu also got rid of many MLP specials with most of G3 off the platform as well. All of the MLP content are now on Kidoodle TV and on UA-cam.
