      @@Games_and_Tech if you watch my aqua 5 review, that's my favorite budget fishtank case for matx. The sama neview 4361 is a close second and 10-15 dollars cheaper, so thats also a great pick. I'd put the montech xr third, but still a great option.

I haven't built a pc in about 21 years but my son has a birthday coming up in a couple months & a gaming pc is at the top of his list. I've been researching like crazy trying to get caught up on what's changed in 20 years because I want to build this with him so it's like a whole experience. So far I've ordered this case, 7600X cpu, MSI Mag full modular 850w Gold plus psu, Team Delta DDR5 6000mhz 2x16GB. I still need to figure out an AIO to run and find a mb. Most the mb I've liked are currently out of stock. I haven't ordered one yet but I'm going to order rx 7800 xt gpu. I'm going to subscribe now I like your review style! Thank you for the reply.

    can i control the color of rgb fans? and do i need a app to do that?

    • @CasualTechReview
      @CasualTechReview  28 днів тому +1

      @@slapie_war411 you can hook all the fans up to the fan hub and control the lights with that. You can also, if your motherboard supports it, hook up the fan hub to your motherboard and also control via software. Each motherboard manufacturer has their own software, and there's also 3rd party software for rgb like signalrgb.

      @slapie_war411 the hub should have a "reset" or "led" 2 pin cable which you can use the "led" button on the case to cycle through a set of preset lighting patterns.

    I picked the Okinos Aqua 3 ($57) over the XR simply because of the smaller size/footprint, usb c and usb 3 on the side vs front and included aRGB hub. cooling is more than sufficiant without the extra 3 fans by using an AIO and adding 2 fans above the bottom mesh. the front i/o being on the side and smaller size was the main factor for me over the XR.

    • @CasualTechReview
      @CasualTechReview  5 місяців тому

      Yep, the Okinos cases are definitely in the same class of cases as well. I may be checking out an Okinos case very soon....

    • @justjeremyYT
      @justjeremyYT 5 місяців тому

      @@CasualTechReview I'll be honest, its a fantastic case for the price. solid build, fit and finish is 9/10. HIGHLY recommend. however a modular power supply is a must to keep wire clutter to a minimum. the only possible complaint would be if you use RBG fans on the bottom shelf, you can see directly in the mesh underbelly. HD/SSD tray, power supply, and wires are all visable through the mesh. if you use a non modular PS, tucking and hiding the wires is a PITA. i would assume that would also be applicable to the XR and Sama cases (and other similar cases) as well.

    • @CasualTechReview
      @CasualTechReview  5 місяців тому

      You'll see when I feature the build in a video, but I didn't find the bottom fans to light up the basement too badly. I may potentially be building in a white Okinos case very soon, I'll be sure to check that out.

      @@CasualTechReview i used black case/mobo with gray accents and gold for the RGB.... very very slick build imo. similar to how the JONSBO case ad's are setup on amazon. The JONSBO D300 and TK-1 were my inspiration, but at $130/$170 for the case and a larger footprint than i wanted it just wasnt meant to be.

    Would it be possible to see a review of the DIYPC Q18? its another budget fishtank style case thats about $55 right now on Newegg. (white only rn, the black version is about $100 for some reason) It also comes with 4 fans and vertical mounting slots, but idk if the fans have the same problems as DIYPC cases have has before.

    • @CasualTechReview
      @CasualTechReview  5 місяців тому

      @keithyboii80 I'll consider checking it out. I don't buy cases just to review, they are the ones I use to actually flip computers. I've already got a 3rd budget fishtank case next up to review, but I'll keep an eye on the q18 in the future. Persoanlly, I've never been very impressed with the quality of their cases. They are cheap, and feel cheap. That's what great about some of these others is they achieve better quality within the budget price bracket.

    I can keep my 4090 down to 40-45C when i put fans under them. the mesh on the montech case keeps the fans from running at their strongest due to impedence. that would probably be my only knock. lian li cases generally do a good job with considering gpu temps.

    • @CasualTechReview
      @CasualTechReview  5 місяців тому +1

      For sure, this case was 64 dollars so it definitely is going to give up on some things that a premium case would have. I think Montech finds a sweet spot between cost and features. Thanks for watching, and enjoy that 4090!
