    ♥ In today's video, I share all the apps and products I use to track my time, manage my time, and stay productive so that I know I'm on track to reach my goals. I'm not all about the 100% productive lifestyle, but I do believe that if we want to achieve something, we are going to have to keep track of what we do and when we do it. And then, of course, we can schedule our off time as well, completely guilt-free.

      I'm having a very hard time concentrating and being productive lately, especially in times of great stress or when focus is crucial. It's just so frustrating and I feel like I can never find the cause. I also use google calendar to plan activities (lectures, parties, exams, important deadlines, meetings) and my own planner to plan my daily activities and structure the day. Something that I found really useful is the pomodoro method ( tomato-timer.com/ ) because 25 mins are not a big commitment and I feel like I can make it! During the 5 mins break I try to do whatever I'd like to do if I didn't have to study as a reward. During these session I listen to deep focus music on yt, it really helps because it's repetitive and it's only sounds, so it won't distract you. Every 3 or 4 sessions I take a 15 mins break! Hope it helps some fellow struggling student :)

    Hey ! Just the fact that you use all that tells me you are a hell of productive person hahah. But I totally understand your point, and I agree with a lot of the things you say but you say it in a way that helps put my thoughts in order so I can express myself to the therapist so a BIG thank you for that 🖤 I feel like im a mess hahahahahah. Anyway, I am definetly trying some of these because my life had a nice and boring routine, so I dont feel the need for these. But its about to change and im gonna need to organize my day. Being emotional again.... this videos, the way you say things... its not just a ln enterteinig video, wich is more than enough sometimes for a youtube video, its a service to society, you actually help people. At least, is helping me 😊

    • @Katrinberndt
      @Katrinberndt  4 роки тому +1

      Using a lot of stuff does not mean I'm productive. :) That's like saying just because you have a fitness watch, a heart rate monitor, a running app, a cadence tracker, a water belt, etc. means you are a great runner. Just not true. I use these things 'cause I feel like they help my brain focus, but for some just using a bullet journal for everything is the most productive. So don't think you need all this stuff to be organized or productive. :)

    I love daylio as well. I think I found that app when you recommended in a previous video. It has been incredible for really seeing what it is that is bothering me if I feel down and what kinds of things bring happiness so I can try to include more of that or do those things to break a down pattern.
    I'm still looking for a way to plan tasks and goals that works for me. Planners, bullet journals, none of those seem to stick. I think I might be similar where I start to feel awful if I'm not "productive enough" but I also don't quantify what that means... Perhaps, like you, if I track things a little better I'll feel better about what I do get done and feel better about allowing myself to relax as well and not feel so guilty when I do.

    'boop' 🤗
    I've just had a conversation about this with study colleagues. We're music students who want to become highschool music teachers. It is really hard to keep up with your personal musical interests and practicing as well as having to write papers, be in practical training in schools and maybe also conduct choirs or other musical ensembles.
    It's very easy to lose track of yourself and a lot of music students practice their instrument mindlessly to become good enough to play in an orchestra and to meet the standard practicing hours without questioning if they could optimize their practice to focus on quality instead of quantity.
    I'm glad you talk about this Katrin, because as you said: Usually we see advice how to hustle better on UA-cam but I firmly believe that a life can be much more fulfilling if you take some time out for yourself, reflect and actually enjoy the payoffs you get from hard work.

    • @Katrinberndt
      @Katrinberndt  4 роки тому +1

      So true! I love that my free time now is so much more relaxing and it gives me the opportunity to just watch UA-cam, work out, practice the piano etc. without feeling like I’m “wasting time” or stealing that time from my job. It’s great!

I'm a photographer and I've been trying to rebrand and reprice my packages which has proven difficult not knowing actually how much time I spend with one client from start to finish. Do you have any cheaper solutions for keeping track of how long you're doing each thing (little diamond tool you're using)? My managers don't understand how time consuming some of the tasks we do are and I'd like to be able to document it so they can understand.

    • @Katrinberndt

  • @RianneOK
    @RianneOK 4 роки тому +1

    Oooh that diamond is super interesting! At my last job they used this tool called toggl, it is also used to track your time.
    I also use Clue and I have an app called Moodnotes but I haven't used it in a while... I was trying to use it while depressed to help me improve but then focusing on the fact that I was depressed made me more depressed (e.g. if I had ended the day on a good note but then reflecting back on me being depressed earlier in the day...). I like the sound of dailyo maybe I will give that a try. Also am not in that place anymore for a long time now.
    I recently found this app via an Instagram ad called Fabulous that tries to help create new habits which sounded very interesting to me. You can set up rituals for different times of the day and what you should be doing e.g. before going to bed or first thing after you wake up. And it has challenges e.g. if you would like to declutter your home you can opt into a declutter challenge. But it was a bit too confusing for me in the end. Maybe I'll get back to it later.

      @Bee-qm7rd 4 роки тому +1

      Nakumi Yumi No you can’t. But the point is to choose the one that dominates that particular day.

    • @Katrinberndt
      @Katrinberndt  4 роки тому +1

      You definitely can! At least in premium. I don’t know if that’s available for the free option since Beatrix said you can’t. I can select a mood for every hour if I want. But I tend to pick one for the whole day or two if I change drastically. ☺️

    Is it okay that i don't like to set goals? I have a journal and i write things i have to do or where i have to go but if i write my goals and not end up making them i feel shity...is that normal or i need to try the goal think?

    • @Katrinberndt
      @Katrinberndt  4 роки тому

      Super normal. Not everyone is at a stage in their lives where they need goals and that’s okay. One day you might desire something you cannot achieve today, which means you can set it as a goal and make up a plan to achieve it. But until then it’s okay to be satisfied and content with what you’ve got. 😊

    I'm struggling with time management because I am a time pessimist... And I'm either really bad at giving myself breaks or have breaks that are so long that they don't work if that makes sense

    Are there any requirements to join the K club? Like do I need Facebook or so? Wasn’t sure the last time... great video, always helpful to see what apps other people use.

      Hey! Yes you need a Facebook account to participate. But it’s okay if you want to just make an account for K Club. You don’t need an active account with all your friends and family on it. 😊

    Thanks for a great video 😊 I’d like to get more structure to my days, feels like I’m just drifting around and have no direction when it comes to goals and aspirations.
    I also use Daylio and Clue, another great app is Life Cycle which tracks basically everything you do based on your gps position and you can also get data from some other apps (sleep, exercise etc) and at the end of the day you get a summary in the form of a doughnut. You also get weekly, monthly and yearly summaries.
    I might be bad at explaining so I suggest anyone interested to check it out. For me who doesn’t have the greatest memory it has been a great help. :)

    Hey Katrin, thank you for making this video and explaining the Timeular, i was always really interested in it, when i saw it on your Instagram. I generally really like your "how to adult" type of videos! :) I do have some off-topic feedback: I got a total of 3 mid-roll ads on this video which made it really hard to enjoy. I understand that you need to make money from your videos and i don't know if you can actually decide on how many ads get played (and when they get played) or if UA-cam just puts them in. But if you can change it: i really think three mid-rolls are a bit much for a 13min video. Maybe consider only putting in two or spacing them out differently so they don't interrupt the content so much, it would really make it a lot easier to watch. Thank you if you take this into consideration and for putting out great content as always :)

    • @Katrinberndt
      @Katrinberndt  4 роки тому

      Hmm I’m pretty sure there are only two mid-rolls and one before the video. But I’m sorry it disturbed your viewer experience! You’re the first one to complain in many years now so I’m afraid I can’t change the way I do things just because of that. And I do my best to place the ads at appropriate times. But thanks for your comment nonetheless. 😊🙏🏻

    • @sarahmarah
      @sarahmarah 4 роки тому

      I watched it on my phone and there was no ad before the video, instead they were all mid-roll. Maybe that's because they were interrupting so much. I just wanted to let you know because some other UA-camr posted that UA-cam is launching some kind of beta version of something new and they were adding in random ads in his video. I thought that might have been the case with you as well because they all cut you off in the middle of a sentence. And it was honestly the first video of yours where it even bothered me. Thank you anyways for taking the time to answer me :)
