Once snowfall is out instead of making a big city you should make like a small but very detailed mountain village with all those assets you got. You could make like little parks everywhere and just have a pop. of like 300 or 400 people. You could totally make like a little river flow inside of it.
EU means European Union. The UK owns Great Britain (Wales, Scotland and England) and owns part of Ireland (Northern Ireland). It also owns the Channel Islands off the coast of France. So before calling someone dumb check your own facts.
ok lets see, what does the uk have what we want? :/ not allot, what got EU that uk need? allot, so you will pay allot for goods... en EU will pay little to non for yours. so uk ppl's money will be worthe less and less and less.. we talk again in a couple of years
The commute would be horrible. I would not want to live anywhere near that city. Cities with separate commercial, residential, office and industrial zones have nightmarish traffic.
True. This is what happens when someone that didn't actually study/read about urbanism idealizes a city. But I bet it was to avoid segregating the classes :p
Here's the ultimate city plan for commuting. We need to make it standard for major highways to have 5 lanes going either way, and smaller roads have at least 3. Instead of traffic lights, every road will have overpasses / bridges like our freeways, so no one has to wait 5-10 minutes because some idiot in front of them doesn't know how to make a right turn into oncoming traffic. Have express and regular monorails taking you to various points in the city. They should be designed so that when one train is about to leave, another comes in. Then in the downtown business areas we have those moving platforms like you find in airports that take you around the block and to adjacent blocks in overpass bridges--you don't need to wait for the walk sign and stop car traffic. Obviously these would need to be roofed, because carrying an umbrella in one of these would be a nightmare. Free parking structures every 2 or 3 blocks with no side street parking anywhere in the downtown area. It's a bit ambitious, but doing all this, you literally don't need to stop anywhere until you get to your destination.
With proper urban planning and with the right policies you can aim to reduce it. Since this is UA-cam and not a specialized forum I won't go into details. I just wanted to leave a comment to @Lucian Willi and not really engage in a conversation. The way you made that question probably shows what kind of conversation it would be (we'd talking about diferrent things). It's not about being able to go from one place to another, it's about reducing the need to go (and distance) from one place to another and HOW you go from one place to another. Cheers
Very nice video. Kinda looks like the famous capital of Atlantis as described by Plato only that one had water channels between the concentric circles of the city. Here is an idea: build a city that imitates a spiral galaxy. It has a very dense and tall city center and roads spiral out of the center in this pattern: 2 - 4 - 8 - 16 - 32. Good luck :)
I absolutely love this. It's like a blend of Mirror's Edge, Attack on Titan, with a splash of Half Life 2 in the lower level (European architecture). Keep up the great work.
1k dislikes is absurd. Looking through the comments its obvious all those people would rather jump to half assed conclusions rather than listen to your beginning plan for this city- which was to be nothing more than aesthetically pleasing. And bro- you made it so much more than that. Its absolutely beautiful! Now if you'll excuse me- I'm off to binge watch the hell outta your channel!!
glad im not the only one who noticed that. This game is basically the sim city 4 remake we all wanted. Not that EAs latest attempts of a so called "sim city" game.
The effort and planning in this deserve a like and a fav. Plus, it really looks like a Neo Tokyo design or something like that. Could have used a giant robot pod and an underground section, though. Bonus points if the whole could go underground to avoid giant monster attacks.

This was amazing dude. You should turn a city build into a series so we can watch step by step possibly? Just shootin out an idea. Keep up the great work brotha
Dude, you are so creative. All of my cities are all plain and boring and i can admit that. Makes me want to hop back on and make something like this. Good job 👍🏼
This looks like it should be a gilded age themed scifi utopia... and that forest below? Yup... tons of mutants, monsters, and horrors to eat your friends. That veneer of perfection over the top of abyssal horror. Either way, nice build!
This reminds me of the attack on Titan city. Just without the ginormous canals, but your little city isn't really worried about 20 meter man eating beats that resemble humans. All that aside, this really does look amazing. Good job ((:
Looks great, my only concern is that no matter which way the wind blows there will always be industrial air pollution blowing through the other districts. Maybe the industrial center should be lower or on the ground layer
The fire thing sorta makes sense if you think about it... it you want the district at lvl 2, but you accidentally go to level 3, you can burn it all down and try again! :D
that looks cool. Id imagine theres a subway of some kind there too. whats that music. that cinematic thing combined with that song is awesome. hope it never has to fully evacuate.
looks almost exactly like a Terran Hive City from WH40k...just a lot cleaner! this game makes SimCity look it's age. this is the kind of success you can expect when you listen to your gamer community and allow them to contribute ideas to the design and function of the gameplay.
If you like green, you should have zoned the Industrial area for Forestry. And all the roads should have been lined with trees. Oh, and Tourist Commercial would do marvellously to take advantage of those parks.
The trees at the bottom are darker because the sun doesn’t shine on them as much in the morning or at night cuz the upper tiers block the sun, so the trees are darker kinda like how trees are darker in Canada or something cuz of the cold.

+Yolo_Gaming Yeah, but make it a Let's Build and not a Let's Play, because then it would probably drag out quickly.
+Yolo_Gaming great idea but maybe a little bigger like 1,000-1,500 people
+Yolo_Gaming Possibly around 1000 people would be better
Marblerunman12 yea 400 would be to small
Ok I don't play this game alot myself so I really don't know what a big or small city is xD
This City looks absolutely breathtaking
it is such an amazing build, appreciating your work :)
You should go to a map with a massive river, dam it up, then make the city in the dry riverbed. Just an idea! :)
And then at the end, destroy the dams and flood the entire city. :) yes I am evil
+Yuvraj Jain yes lots of innocent people dead in a matter of seconds
+alex dempsey Mwahahaha!

they will

No. The best thing to do is reduce the need to commute. Cities should be - the most possible for every specific case - for people, not for cars.
jcmlpt
Then how do you plan on reducing commute? If you can't get from one place to another, then all the space in the world won't do you any good.
With proper urban planning and with the right policies you can aim to reduce it. Since this is UA-cam and not a specialized forum I won't go into details. It's a cake for godzilla.

I've fought mudcrabs tougher than you!
Atlantis you tards.
to be honest i would live in this city

+Carsten Kuehn yeah i wold cuz for me it looks epic and cool like i wold
you would be drawing circles your whole life..

more like city of endless loops... like fish in a bowl
Do like a city that is built into the side of a cliff or that has bridges connecting large spires of rock

You mean Minas Tirith?
@@horseduck2839 from got?
UK in EU, lol
He was right all along
yeah in the EU
He was right until Brexit
UK is still in the EU. It has decided to exit, and that might take years to finalize.
Lol
The river must be holy water.
Shane Davis i’m gonna burn in that
Yep its a Holy Water

Its ok that you didn't know the UK was part of the EU, they fixed that for you. :)
if the river flowed through all the 4 sides, it'd look like Water-7 from One Piece
I absolutely love this. It's like a blend of Mirror's Edge, Attack on Titan, with a splash of Half Life 2 in the lower level (European architecture). Keep up the great work.
More like cyrodiil lol
Haris 007 the symmetry reminds me of Isengard.
The Imperial City was more efficiently designed (and prettier).
This reminds me of Attack on Titan lmao
XD I was thinking that it reminds me of a Warhammer 40K Hive City XD
yeah I can see this being a really tiny hive city, like a hive village haha
I was thinking more along the lines of kill la kill XD
This town reminds me of the city of Water Seven present in One Piece!
That isn't so stupid now, is it?
Nice job. Don't usually watch this type of content but it was cool watching someone who really knows how to play these games.
Cities Skylines - but it's SC4 music in the background....

Can you build the terrain up for the highways leaving the city, so it seems more realistic than 500 ft overpasses?
David Starr 500 feet highway overpasses are normal in Texas.
@@ash.mystic got one down the road that leads to arkansas
why the SimCity 4 music?
glad im not the only one who noticed that. This game is basically the sim city 4 remake we all wanted. Not that EAs latest attempts of a so called "sim city" game.
Peter Ian Staker still lacks the region play of SimCity 4
Superchad245
Love Simcity 4 and its music tracks
Peter Ian Staker
I awaited such game for a "Simcity5" but the actual SC5 was kind of disappointing
I really wish there was a really good successor to sc4 but CS is good but is not the successor for me.

the future imperial city
Tiered city concepts are so geometrically pleasing. If I were a city planner, I’d do nothing but design tiered cities XD

why does this just make me want to believe that this is a dystopia

Either way, nice build!
This is like RBE city, Very good design, very efficient, good job m8.
I like the contrast of the richness of the inner part of the land and the poor outside of the land. YOU"RE PRESIDENT SNOW
I love it! It reminds me of Walt Disney’s original design for EPCOT
I really, REALLY want to write something about this city. It can serve as the setting of a sci-fi, cyberpunk, utopian story. I love it

Dude, be an architect and design a whole real life city. You have a future.
Astonoshing build, I must say!
But I have to admit, you overdid it with those trees :)
Badass. If there was a lava mod then having a lava river would make more sense. Volcano.
The fire thing sorta makes sense if you think about it... it you want the district at lvl 2, but you accidentally go to level 3, you can burn it all down and try again! :D

Grats, you recreated Metropolis in Simcity3000, now with elevation.
If you like green, you should have zoned the Industrial area for Forestry. And all the roads should have been lined with trees. Oh, and Tourist Commercial would do marvellously to take advantage of those parks.
This reminds me of a slightly more bizzare version of Jaque Fresco's 'Venus Project'.
Your city makes me think of what Midgar from FFVII would look like if it existed in reality.
You may call it a wedding cake design, but I’ll always think of it as Ba Sing Se
Build a city that goes deeper into the ground by tiers, but on the condition you have to make the city seem as it wasn’t planned
very awesome! great cinematic display at the end. could be used by developers to show how awesome the game can be.
about the building size repetition: just checkerboard it based on the size you want your buildings then vice versa once theyve been occupied
That is by far the most beautiful city i've ever seen
Imperial city from elder scrolls obvilion?
Yes
I love the sim city 4 music. That game was where it was at back in the day
Those cinematic shots are on point👌👌👌
Чувак, Ты крут!!!
Dude, you a best!!!
You tore up a lot of time from your life to create this virtual beauty.
Walt Disney’s original plans that he had for EPCOT as the CITY of TOMORROW.
As my mom would say right now, "All the pollution from factories is going upwards to our house"
I don’t understand English, but your video is so funny! and your city is beautiful!!
I wish I could put 2 or more likes, that looks absolutely incredible.
The trees at the bottom are darker because the sun doesn’t shine on them as much in the morning or at night cuz the upper tiers block the sun, so the trees are darker kinda like how trees are darker in Canada or something cuz of the cold.
The cinematic at the end somehow heavily reminded me of Oblivion's intro.
"I was born 87 years ago. For 65 years I've ruled as Tamriel's emperor. But for all these years, I've never been the ruler of my own dreams. I have seen the gates of Oblivion, beyond which no waking eye may see. Behold, in darkness a doom sweeps the land. This is the 27th of Last Seed, the year of Akatosh, 433. These are the closing days of the 3rd Era...and the final hours of my life."
Looks beautiful. Amazing it only took 3 hrs. After 3 hours my city looks like something a dog threw up.
I'm buying this game tomorrow hopefully. I've played (the new) SimCity for a couple of years now and this game looks *worlds* better. I'll probably end up buying the DLC for it as well, but I'm going to stick with the base game for now. Looks super fun and excited to play it myself.

2:08 european style: orbital periphery - core costructivism in city buildings.
Here is a circle it knows how to get around, it has a radius from center to rim and it's diameter goes from side to side now isn't that simple. Pi R squared sounds like area to me (π × r² = A)And if I need the circumference I just use Pi D (π x the diameter of the circle)
The Circle Song!
For anyone who can't be bothered to mod their game (vanilla) for the river, you can use underwater filtration plants (I believe that is possible) for the source of the clean water. Also, if you wanted to keep the city very self contained, you could start with water intakes in a natural river until you got the river in your city flowing normally. Then you could add intakes along the side of your city and then remove the ones in the natural lake. (In that order).
DISCLAIMER - I am not 100% sure if that would / wouldn't work so try to keep you boiling levels of trigger contained within yourself if you spend 3 hours trying to do it and you get to the water and it fails.
a very original city and idea...

Atlantis! It's what I first thought of when I saw the preview.
They say Rome wasn't built in a day, but Tiered city was built in less then a minute.
This city looks like the world of a post-apocalyptic book called ''Atherton''
this might be a cool city to live in. good job
The Simcity music fits pretty good.
12:30 This video has not aged well
Waterfalls instead of the river would be so much better. Awesome city btw. Great city for the GTA franchise.
That end scene should be city skylines cinematic trailer. XD
i think you should have put these "main-roads" not at the edge of each tier, but rather right through the middle, which would improuve flow, since you can have twice as many offroads in the ame area (think fractals: a line becomes a surface)
