Thanks for this, I had heard of the others but Sanabi slipped past me! My under-the-radar recs are: -El Paso Elsewhere: a monster hunting love letter to Max Payne with bullet time, so-bad-its-good 90s-style hip-hop OST, and a really well delivered narrative about overcoming trauma that had me in literal tears! -The Roottrees Are Dead: a mystery game inspired by Obra Dinn and the Golden Idol, scouring old records for clues to fill out a family tree. A really meaty, well done mystery that took me about 6 hours to complete, and it's free!
I loved Hero's Adventure and you should totally give it a try if you like dense rpg mechanics and mind boggling narrative choices in an Asian martial arts and cultivation setting.
_Laika: Aged Through Blood_ got enough press to have over 1700 reviews on Steam (at time of this post), so it's not exactly flying under the radar, but it could still use a little more love. It's beautiful and probably best if you go in blind.
@@danomak Terrific! Just a heads up, it might take a little while to come to grips with the "game feel" but it'll get comfortable in fairly short order if you stick with it.
Dredge reminds me of Sunless Sea/Sky. Dave the Diver was surprise for me. Citizen Sleeper is also a great game. I didn’t think I could appreciate a word based paper RPG, but I did. It’s Only Money is a great game as well. It’s PG-13 GTA
Gotta give a shoutout to Humanity! One of my fav puzzle games in awhile. And it was awesome in VR.
VR headsets are gaining their audience and games, at long last
