Hope you guys enjoyed this video as I absolutely loved making it, one of the best stories in Fallout in my opinion. Let me know what else you’d like to see and thanks again for watching!!
Excellent video. Most detailed lore vid on Randall's story I have seen so far . And I've watched like 3 other lore vids on Randall's story now. Yours is the best because you make that extra effort and go one step further with lore details. The Storytellers cinematic- machinima lore on Randall's story is great. Appreciate the effort they made to make it. But your lore vid still trumps it cause you provide the extra details, the extra pieces of the story . Far as lore goes, that's everything right? For example I knew about Randall's vault 22 g/f, but did not know her name, Sylvie til you mentioned it. And I played through the Zion quest a bunch of times when I was still playing N.V. Great job 👍
What I really like about Randall's character is although he's some of the last of humanity, he also represents how great people can be. He was strong both mentally and physically, compassionate, but also fierce when needed. The part that saddened me the most, is when he knew that he was dying, he made sure to go somewhere the children wouldn't find him. He didn't want them to know this mythical figure they looked up to was a sick old man.
The survivalist is the reason I always pick fight the white legs it's what he would have wanted. I always make sure to use the survivalist rifle while killing white legs.
It's so epic how after literally watching over the children, they and their tribal descendants still viewed Randall as a spiritual protector. I remember getting goose bumps when I first found that out
You know you've made a good character when we never interact with them, only see their story through the world and journals, and know their life ended over one hundred years ago; and still we care more about what happened to them than characters who are still alive.
If they'd ever do a movie from the fallout universe I think this would be one of the best stories. It wouldn't probably suffer the usual game movie adaption fan hate.
Randall’s story is brilliant and touching. But the most you could get out of his story is maybe an introspective short (could get surreal) film that broadly covers his life events. Films like A Boy and His Dog and The Road have two characters to bounce off each other.
While I like the story, not having the movie set within a Vault at the beginning and then transitioning into the broken world outside would instantly make it a box office failure. Most people that have heard or played Fallout (or any game for that matter) are not lore enthusiasts or completionists by any stretch. This means it'd have to target what everyone knows and loves rather than a side story. It's an unfortunate reality and also the reason many of the TV/movie adaptions from games simply opt to rewrite the universes nearly entirely and only maintain cosmetic similarities in order to make it easier to sell to people that have also never heard of the games in the first place. It's the latter, the rewriting that is, has proven to be a complete failure though as seen with many adaptions including fan-made movies since...most of the watchers have at least played the games a little bit and...normies (lol) won't ever go watch a "nerdy" movie.
@@Floodsye I get what you're saying on the one hand. Though within Randall's canon.(A movie or series). It could be shown the transition tween Randall's experience as the bombs fell while driving his pick up near Zion. Him sitting in the truck, knowing what was happening, closing his eyes so to not get get blinded by the nuclear flashes, silently praying the next bomb would not take him out. While the other 12 bombs fell around him in the distance. Then show him putting the old blinded couple out of their misery.. Cut to vault 22. Show the evolving story of that vault. ( where casual mainstream Fallout fans, or non Fallout fans, get a proper insight as to how the vaults worked etc) And how and why those survivors turned into such black hearted cannibals. Then show Randall ,tracking them, watching them. Preparing to take em out ,when he discovered what kind of people they were in Zion. Nerdy movie? Not at all man. Fallout verse is just way to varied in lore to be just 'nerdy'. You have the Vipers ,Jackals and Khans for instance. Khans are basically outlaw bikers of a post apocalypse with no bikes. Twice as tough and brutal. Randall's story would be about survival " Alone " kind of style, showing his flawed ,pained human experience, computer logs etc. With plenty of off the charts violence and as much grizzly brutality and gore you could put in a movie ( it would have to be rated X 18 +, to get full realistic brutality of Fallout I think). The story following the vault 22 survivors, and what they got up to and how Randall ended up putting them down. Also would need to show his compassionate side ,how he looks out for the survivors who became the Sorrows. How he basically mentored, cared for a whole tribe from the shadows. How he gave the vault 22 woman a chance ,when she got caught in a bear trap. And she became his feminine side, intimate companion he so needed after he lost his first wife to the bombs. That part of his story that would give the romantics and female audience what they want and need, as in light and shade to his story. Randall's story has everything to make for an epic Fallout piece. That provides men and women with what they want to enjoy in a movie or series. It would all come down to careful, thougtful writing, acting and production in executing the story. In the right hands it could be a block buster movie. Fallout is well over 20 yrs old with fans from at least 3 generations. It already has a solid fan base yeah?
Randall Clark and Raul Alfonso Tejada are the best written characters. Even among other games and franchises. Nothing comes remotely close to being as emotional as they tell their stories.
This has got to be one of my favorite DLC to play for Fallout: New Vegas. First time I played it I didn't do the main quest right away. I wanted to explore this new land of green and fresh water. It was cool finding the entries on the computers in the various caves around Zion Valley. I remember wanting an option for the game to be able to bury his body when you find him. He deserved that much at least for all the good that he did and tried to do.
I really loved running across these terminals in HH because minus them I felt the DLC to be pretty bare though I loved that it rained and the water was safe. I felt bad reading everything that happened to him but hearing it all laid out again gave me an even better scope of just how detailed and great it was.
Just imagine living that life though… Sheesh man. Out of all characters in the Fallout series, this guy has to have one of the most tragic tales. Definitely up there with Harold.
Love the video man. One of the best characters in all of fallout in my opinion. I mean I can't think of any other environmental storytelling that tops Clark's story.
No matter how many times I've played New Vegas, this side story brings tears to my eyes. Man survived the death of the old world and witnessed the birth of a new one. Makes for a bittersweet tale, parts of it remind me of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's "Rime Of The Ancient Mariner".
It was this story that made me choose to stay and fight the white legs in the dlc. He did all he could to keep the place free and innocent and even told them to defend themselves. Having the tribes flee like that would of done a dishonor to all Randall did for the kids and all those who came after.
Love you, also I think Randall was actually in some kind of Military Training when the bombs dropped, or something. Still love you and the sound of your voice. So soothing.
This is the first time I ever heard about this character too bad he had died before The courier got a chance to meet him in game, the next video should be about Ulysses especially if it's Fallout NV video, I would also like to see videos on asura wrath and vanquish .
You forgot to mention that the vault survivors ate the Mexican women and children two days after capturing them Randal started his war against them after he went to save them and saw what they did
Every time I replay Honest Hearts I don the Survivalist Armor and Rifle before the confrontation with the White Legs. As if The Father was defending his children one final time
@@AsymmetricalCrimes I can't get over how brave you were to destroy all those Securitrons at the Fort, you know? It's just going to make everything so much more...challenging! Yeah, challenging!

Very true, that story touched my soul, my heart , best story of all fallout lore for me.
Such a beautiful, heartfelt story... indeed our loved ones do live on in our memories...
Truly beautiful, deeply moving

I love this character. It is probably the most accurate story line in Fallout Lore.
This has got to be one of my favorite DLC to play for Fallout: New Vegas. First time I played it I didn't do the main quest right away. I wanted to explore this new land of green and fresh water. I literally Cried hearing this Story
And I'm gonna cry again

I found the fathers corpse first then i fell apart as i found each little bit of info after that

I SEE RANDALL CLARK, I CLICK. SIMPLE AS THAT

This is exactly why I chose to stay and fight, as well! They can fight, and they can continue to thrive.
This story gets me every single time. 😭
To be only a quarter or the person that Randall was...
Every time I remember Randall i cry. Easily one of the best stories stories in the Fallout Universe
I've heard his story before, but your narration drives home how tragic it all really was. Great vid as always.
Just played HH for the first time this month. Great video.
Love you, also I think Randall was actually in some kind of Military Training when the bombs dropped, or something. Still love you and the sound of your voice. So soothing.
I always give him a 21 shot salute when I find him and his rifle.
Joshua and Randall are what make this DLC good imo
My favourite character in fallout, would be awesome for them to make a book based in his story.
I’m amazed they haven’t made a comic book about this dude.🐱

wow i diden’t know that the lore on clark was so deep
I never experienced this story, but I also cowboyed my way through the dlc
This is probably my favorite character in fallout, and he doesn't even actually appear in the game
Obsidian's master writing. BGS could learn a billion writing things from these doods.
its here, its finally here.
Many thanks for this epic tale! What a fascinating character! Great narration and art direction!
You forgot to mention that the vault survivors ate the Mexican women and children two days after capturing them Randal started his war against them after he went to save them and saw what they did
Cool video. I think the next fallout video you would make should be about the story of Mr. House and the company of RobCo Industries.
One of the best fallout nv characters
Me pilfering the Survivalist’s corpse for the 500th time:
*Its free real estate*
Really incredible story! I hadn't heard of this character but what an interesting one. Really enjoyed this. Well played.
These fallout stories make me tear up.
This is my favorite fallout video. Hands down I tell everyone I can about this, to this day.
Hey WiseFish, awesome video!!! Have you done a video on the Pitt yet? If not, can you do a vide on it. Maybe a video on Ishmael Ashur?
What a cool tale never gets old
Yooo my mans making New Vegas lore vids in 2022 😂😂 I fucking loved this game man , definitely best Fallout imo
This story is amazing, and the fact it’s just an unmarked quest is so wild. Randell, you are a god. Such a beautiful ending. Fuck Vault 22.
I love seeing topics I suggested make it to a video.
Every time I replay Honest Hearts I don the Survivalist Armor and Rifle before the confrontation with the White Legs. As if The Father was defending his children one final time
This poignant story always gets me
Right off the bat, a rocky landscape.

Joshua Graham and the and father are the same character in different time
man...
Tom hanks would make a great Randall Clark.
Personally I'd prefer Norman Reedus playing him.
Pretty lonely father.
