Your Alpine Bloom tee is absolutely stunning! As far as the Wisp, i would frog it and start over. Why keep something that you're not happy with and, therefore, probably won't wear? And that solid blue color would be beautiful and so versatile as a vest.
Since you love the pattern & the fabric of the tank , I'd vote you Rip it back , reclaim your yarn and make it in a smaller size❤ It's for your enjoyment and this happens sometimes, even when we swatch . I had designed a beautiful dress that took me months to think of a way to knit what i 42:54 wanted years ago .. I wore it to a formal event and it grew &grew until I had a gown by the evenings end 😅Whatever you decide , I can only wish you to keep your passion guilt free & fun !
I'm just getting caught-up with your podcasts. I looooove your sweaters! Colour choices are wicked. Can't wait to knit along with the rest of your videos. 🥰
Emily I’m thinking of casting on the rota jumper so it’s good to hear it’s a fun pattern, since I think it’s the same stitch pattern in a different silhouette
Fabulous Alpine Bloom and Ranunculus! Rip out the Wisp and knit it a size smaller (it is lovely yarn and will be fabulous sized correctly for you), The pattern Pure Joy might be a good one skein shawl choice for your mother-in-law. I received my order of the same brand of cotton/alpaca yarn as you used for your Ranunculus which I was thinking to use for a baby gift knit but it’s hand wash only so I will knit a long version Sophie Scarf with the yarn held doubled (I bought two skeins as well) for my sister who lives in So. CA instead. That yarn has a delightful feel.
Michelle I have to always remind myself that it’s all knitting but it can be tough I think sometimes leaving it to marinate can make it a little less painful to frog 💕
I would rip it out and begin again, make a size smaller and with a shallower v. Love your Alpine Bloom, so much I have copied your colour way,in drops yarn wool/alpaca mix ❤, . The sweet skein of mine yarn looks like confetti, I love it. good luck with whatever you decide x
Hi from NYC. Glad to have stumbled upon your video. I am currently knitting the Kuutar tee in Antigone linen. I related to your experience with the linen yarn. I do a center pull and keep the ball in a small tote that holds it fairly tight. That has cut down on the yarn tangling. I'm enjoying the tee b/c the yolk (64 rows of lace) is challenging in that I really have to pay attention. Most of my other knits right now are more mindless, so i like to mix it up. Look forward to watching more of your videos!
Claire I’m so happy you found me I have Antigone in my stash I really want to knit with it the shine is so good. The kuutar is a great suggestion I have been admiring it I can’t wait to see yours
Good morning, just found your podcast! I was ready for something new. I also have a podcast The Island Lamb and I’m pretty new to podcasting however not new to watching podcasts. I really enjoyed yours! I’m also knitting the Alpine Bloom. I’m using Valley Yarns Charlemont fingering weight in a natural white and a lovely skein ofRich Hills Yarn fingering weight in the color way Mural. Mural is variegated in blues and greens. I love the color against the white backdrop. While I’m knitting it feels like I’m painting in watercolor paint. I plan to review my knit in my next podcast. Thank you for all your tips. I will definitely reference your channel in my next episode. Happy knitting!
Yes! I live in Florida. I made my mother the lone skein shawl out of 100% merino and it’s so petite and airy, just adds a little style to her outfit and it’s not warm at all.
@westmaven yes I used my own shops fingering weight Merino. The shawl is so light and airy. My mom loved it. I'm currently knitting her the Birds of a Feather Shawl (which I'm not enjoying haha) but this will be more winter.
Just found your video….glad I did. Beautiful Alpine Bloom. Love your color choices. Right now I am knitting the Uptown Tee from Tori Yu. And next will be Dappled Lace Raglan by James N Watts. Look forward to seeing your upcoming knits.
See you at The Lamb & Kid booth at Flock! My Wisp is slightly oversized too. I tied a scarf at the back and am considering stitching a few rows at at the front V or I’ll just live with it awhile and maybe shorten the straps. My Mini Mock is in the same place yours is, I need to try it on and make sure it fits me as I’m unfortunately short waisted.😊
Blair you're my knitting twin! I like that we have the same project going and I can't wait to see you at the festival! The scarf in the back sounds super cute I love that idea to adjust the fit.
The oversized blue vest has amazing drape the way it is, but is out if balance and needs more substance around the neck and sleeves. I would try either knitted or crocheted ribbed edges and see what you think then. ❤
I really like the drape as well which is why I don’t think changing needle size would work in this case but perhaps the smaller size will work I like the idea of adjusting the neckline
I’m making the Thonnan tee and just cast on the. Ibex tee. I’m inspired by your black knits. I’m now planning a black Misurina! I also have the Komorebi on my queue inspired by Girl Meets Yarn.
Oooh, yes, mohair for the apline bloom motif would be lush. I’m self drafting a camisole - a bit like the summer secret crop in outline but longer and with folded hems and neck edge. I’m just adding a double knit armhole edging extending into double knit straps. Such fun as my first go at self drafting something. It’s in a merino linen blend. So far so good. Also I am knitting the lacy Kuntum socks from 52 weeks in Wool and the Gang glitterball. Lots of fun and knitting up very prettily. Seems like you really love the Wisp and the colour and feel of the yarn. It is a lovely combination, so I say frog it and knit it the same but smaller x
Hey, love the podcast! Your Alpine Bloom is stunning. Love the Mohair idea too. For the Whisp, I like the idea of shortening the sleeves at the top. You could then pick up around the neck and do an icord edge or just crochet along the inside of the neckline to draw it in a little more. I think you can definitely make it work as a vest and not have to frog that lovely Suri.
Don’t frog the wisp! Add an I-cord edging like Petiteknit does in the cumulus top/tee/blouse. If you knit a tight I-cord it will bring in the neckline. You can do it around the arms as well. A bit labor intensive but better than frogging and more summery looking than adding rib IMO
I love your aesthetic/color use! I am working on an SS&A by Natsuko Iida in linen. It has an interesting panel down both sides that break up some stockinette. I was almost finished with it and decided that I did not like the fabric - very loose and sloppy looking so I frogged it and started over with smaller needles. Almost finished with the body now. Like you, I prefer a good bit of positive ease, but I find it difficult to decide on size vs. needle gauge sometimes. Thank you for making your videos so informative.
There's a worsted weight of that sabri yarn and I just used it to make the Tolsta tee. Also a fantastic yarn. Your Alpine Bloom is just lovely, I have that on the needles now!
I like your color palette idea. I like your new ranunculus. I think your current "summer" sleeve is perfect. My summer version I picked up for long sleeve but only knit 5 rows and then did 5 rows of ribbing. I love. I'm going to start another ranunculus using Malabrigo susurro in 118 Tortuga. Grey. What number of stitches are you casting on for your ranunculus? I like the look of yours. My neckline is closer to my neck and I would like it wider. How confident are you that you can frog the tank successfully? I say frog. The color totally works for you but I agree. It looks too big. Your Aplenbloom is nice. I don't think I will make make one but if I did it would be black and white. Or black and grey. Sounds kind of boring but that is my favorite. I am working on a sweater Xarabia in a color called Cherry Bomb and black stripes. Also making a vanilla sock in Black Cat Fibers but I can't tell you the colors. How did I lose BOTH tags?!!!!. Neon purple toe, cuff and heel. Main body of the sock is light grey speckled with hot pink and the same neon purple. I want to cast on Persephone by Caitlin French. It's almost a tank. Also, don't feel bad about your husband's socks. I was making my husband socks for Xmas and I finished them on Valentines Day. 😂 Just finish them when you can. I like the speckled tank you are working on. I will look into making that one too. Byeeeee
Heather I cast on for the wide neckline I think it’s the same for all sizes but I cast on LOOSELY I haven’t tried susurro yet but I want to, the ranunculus will be so nice knit in that.
Your Alpine Bloom is gorgeous! The linen looks so lovely. I think my next cast on will be a Mini Mock Neck Tank, I dig it haha As I watch this video I'm painstakingly frogging part of my Amedeo Tee, but my main WIP at the mo is a Helix Halter and I'm loving it. The lace is engaging but quite simple so it's a nice balance!
Sylvia The Amedeo is such a pretty pattern, as well as the helix halter. I definitely think you should cast on the mini mock neck tank, the more cast ons the better 🤣plus I really am enjoying knitting it
I would finish the tank, donate it to a certified charity, deduct the cost of the yarn on your tax return, and start over with some of your other yarn. Everybody wins, especially the person who gets the blue tank without having to make it😎
I knit a size 3 which I think I was in between a 2/3 I saw on @stressknits podcast hers ended up a little big as well I think had I checked the finished garment measurements on the pattern I would have chosen the 2 I hope that helps the double suri also has some give so you could block it out a bit if you need 💕
Love your Alpine Bloom, great graphics. On your Wisp, sounds like you will be most happy if you 🐸 it and make the size and color you want. Probably go even faster this go around. Curious about the Blackbird Linen- would you use it in a tee? 🧶 Cher

Thank you Amber, you are so right about not wearing it if I’m not happy with it and where’s the fun in that 💙
I would rip out the Wisp and knit it again, but make sure you’ll be happy going down just one size. I love the color of that yarn. ❤
Debbie I’m definitely leaning towards this
Gorgeous FOs. For the Wisp Tank, I recommend ripping it out and making it into a size that you will love.
I agree I should definitely start over 💕
I would rip it and start over. The yarn is beautiful. I loved all your knits. Just found your channel, am enjoying very much 💕💕💕
Maria I’m definitely thinking the same, I’m currently frogging a larger project and will share soon, 🐸
Thank you for the colour palette idea. I just received a beautiful skein of yarn and had no clue what to pair it with. Great advice.
I hope you find a perfect match for it ✨

Cheryl the camisole sounds amazing if you post on instagram tag me so I can see ✨thank you for the advice on the wisp 💙
@@westmaven I will!
You know what you need to do with the tank……frog & re-knit. It just takes a wee bit of time to comes to term with 😉
Jenny I think you are right !

Joanna this is a good idea fix the ease 💕
I’m knitting on the Pi camisole 🥰
Marla, what a fun pattern, I want to knit one
I wasn’t actually thinking to knit the Boyland Knits top but I kinda do now 😅
Do it 😉

I just looked it up I might have to knit that it looks really fun 🤩
I’m knitting the bright axis tee and the garter marler cardigan. I have swatches for the queens cami and uptown tee next.
Also I would frog the wisp and redo in a smaller size.
Jessica the uptown tee is on my list! Also I think you are right about 🐸
Knitting on Campana by Alison Green. Knit with DK cotton..😊
The Campana, looks like such an elevated basic tee I love it
There's a worsted weight of that sabri yarn and I just used it to make the Tolsta tee. Also a fantastic yarn. Your Alpine Bloom is just lovely, I have that on the needles now!
I almost bought some illimani Sabri II but I haven’t found a pattern to use it with yet maybe a Rota top……

I'd shorten the straps. Simple! Looks like it will be fine!
I should probably try this before I rip it out 💕😆
Currently working on the footloose shirt by Erika knight. Quite a simple knit, easy and fun. Might be something quite up your alley.
The footloose shirt is fun are you going to do a pocket on yours? I would be tempted to do a different color 😃

@@westmaven hahaha I am tempted, the yarn is all winded into cakes staring at me every day 🤣🤣
You do wonderful work! You could put ribbing around the neck and arms if you are going to wear over shirts?
I thought of this and I think it would be a very nice way to finish it
For the Wisp Tank - What if you picked up around the neckline and added 2-3 inches of ribbing to pull it in and make it feel more like a vest?
This is a great suggestion thanks Elizabeth

Did you use the recommended size 10 needl, or did you use a smaller needle?
I used the suggested needle size Jess 🖤
@@westmaven wow!
Doesn't look like it at all.
You have inspired me to make a fingering weight Ranunculus.
I want to learn pattern and to handle different colours during knitting?
