    This video really saved me. I tried to wire this exact thermostat with the same setup. 2 x 240 volt coming into the heater. I had never seen these before so I tried to wire it with the way I knew and it blew the breaker in the service panel. Now I can replace the breaker and wire this up properly. Thanks for the great video. Are the voltages on both those hot wires 240v?

      The wires are 120v×2 hot wires = 240v with a double pole circuit breaker clipped to 2 fhase on electrical panel, thank you very much for watching my videos

      @@BahianoReno would you know why there would be 2 240v running to 1 baseboard? All the other baseboards ran to a thermostat on the wall and had 1 240v wire running to them. When I say 240v I am referring to red black and ground which is normally used for 240v . Thanks for the great video.

      @@AcadianMan Hello john, in this case, the other 2 wires were just carrying power to the next baseboard heater, but all we had there was 240v, in this case it was just like a junction box

    I installed my electric baseboard and nothing else turns on only when it is high and if it is at the minimum or medium temperature it does not work only when it is at high temperature

    • @BahianoReno
      @BahianoReno  2 роки тому +5

      Hello Memes, thank you very much for your time, it could be a defective thermostat, not very often, but some times it happen, factory issues, if you have others heaters and thermostats in your house, you can switch them and find out the issue, I would check first the thermostat, I had few issues with thermostats on the pass.
      are the thermostat and heater new?

    how do u connected this to power ? can u get a wire from the wall plug and connect this
    also how much one of these cost and where did u buy them thx

    • @BahianoReno
      @BahianoReno  3 роки тому +6

      Hello John, thank you very much for watching my videos, I picked them up at home depot, around $50.00 for the heater and $14.00 the thermostat, Ca dollar, probably would be more now.
      The feeding wires come from the panel, 12/2 wires with 220Volts and 20Amps double pole breaker, usually a regular plug is 110V here where I am, if you plug it into a regular outlet, you would get only 110Volts,, heater will work, but with half of it's capacity, it mean, no much heat will come out of it.
      A 110Volts heater would work better on a regular plug, if you have any more questions, please let me know,

      Hello Jaime, thank you very much for your time and support, you can use a the built-in thermostat in conjunction with the wall thermostat, else you can use the electrical box for the wall mount thermostat as a junction box to connect the wires, keep safe

    I feel you did this wrong. The other video I watched said put the two power wire with the two red wires. Then the two black wire connects with the two wires from the heater. It makes more sense since the power goes to the thermostat then the thermostat controls if power should go to the heat. Your way is super confusing

      Thank you very much Terry, for your feedback and watching my videos, in that particular heater it has one set of wires going to another heater, else it been used as a junction box, keep safe.
