  • This is a how-to video on installing some hydronic baseboard heaters by Cadet and replacing the old conventional baseboard heaters that were no longer working.
    ❌ Traditional baseboard heaters turn on and off and on constantly to keep up the warmth of the room.
    ✅ Hydronic baseboard heaters warm up a liquid within the unit that maintains the warmth over a longer period of time - making these far more efficient.

    Outside of that, we have the thermostat install which only takes a few minutes, and some other minor cabin warming projects. I'll have the bathroom wall heater installed here in a few weeks and that paired with the new insulation, new windows, and other baseboard heaters - this place will be cozier than ever!
    💡 Check out the AirBnb listing here: www.airbnb.com/h/twincreeks
    This is our new journey in the real estate investing world where we'll take on a full cabin remodel in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The plan is to fully update and make this a short term rental or "vacation rental property".
    We will be implementing the BRRRR method where we Buy, Rehab, Rent, Refinance, and then Repeat. This cabin was already purchased $10K under appraised value so we are in the green. Once updated, our hope is to rent this out on short term rental platforms like AirBnb and VRBO, then refinance to pull all of the money out that we put in and do this again on another property - AND best part of all, we get to use this ourselves as a vacation property.
    We've never done this before so this will be an adventure. We're starting here in NC but the dream is to have several of these across the country that we can live in or rent out as needed.
    Hope you enjoy!

    really impressed with the work you are doing. We will never need to install heaters for ourselves but this was fun to watch none the less. 😀

    Thanks for making this video! Just two recommendations... 1) Because the white wire is hot from the breaker, it should be wrapped with black electrical tape to indicate that it's hot, not neutral, especially being a 240 volt setup 2) If wiring to code, the feed from the wall should be in an electrical box. You can buy a 1 gang old work box (sometimes called a cut-in box) that can go in after drywall, then they can be sealed at the entry point with duct seal to stop drafts.

    I don't know which made me subscribe: the Polaroid joke or the charitable donations.

    I have a new question in addition to below.. What size baseboard did you end up going with for the living room? It looks like your living room is about the same size as mine with high ceilings.

    You have to eliminate the outlet on top the heater for safety

    will the liquid in the baseboard freeze when the heaters are turned off. My cottage can get to -17C in the winter when we leave after turning off the heat.

    The links provided for Cadet Wall Heater and Thermostat are the same links to the wall heater. Please provide a correct link to the thermostat you used. I like that one. Thank you :)

    What do you put between the heater and the wall?? Caulk? Is it necessary?

    Do you have to use the thermostat on the wall with these? I got just the thermostat control for on the radiator with the hot and cold knob.

    Quick question . I want to put a smaller baseboard heater in the dinning room to have more wall space . I have a 103inch long 2500watt baseboard heater there now . Can I put a 83inch 2000watt baseboard heater instead? This should be fine because I'm going with less wattage RIGHT??

    I heard you have to remove flooring in old houses to install them. You didn't show that. what are they trying to say ?

    Only other thing I can think is one breaker controls two heaters but that doesn't make any sense

    Okay gods honest question but I'm confused. You have what looks like 12-2 with ground. How the hell is that wired for 220!?!?! I'm so confused. Where the heck is your neutral?!?! I'm not saying it's not what you said it is but at the same time I genuinely just don't understand how....

    • @suspicionofdeceit
      @suspicionofdeceit Рік тому +2

      You don’t need a neutral with 240v on these baseboard heaters. The black and the white are your hot legs.

    why is everyone calling Electrical baseboards 'Hydronic' HYDRO means water...... to have a hydronic heating system means you are moving water to heat system.... this is an electrical baseboard heating system NOT a hydronic.........

    • @KellyConcepts
      @KellyConcepts  Рік тому +2

      There is a liquid within these Hydronic baseboards that helps to retain the heat longer than a traditional baseboard heater. It doesn't have all of the plumbing as the really old ones but has a similar effect.
