I have respected and celebrated Whitesnake's music from the first album to the last. D.C. is and has always been a masterful performer and songwriter with a colourful and evolving vision of what it means to entertain and "Snake it up" through the speakers as well as on-stage. "Slip of the Tongue" - although not the album D.C. envisaged - remains my personal favourite. David and Adrian wrote (and re-worked) some of the best rock songs, and ballads, of all time on that album. Making the choice (the "only choice" at the time) to include the energy and sonic theatrics of guitar god Steve Vai resulted, in my opinion, in a spectacular work of art that can never be overstated, reproduced or easily followed. "Restless Heart" was the perfect descendant - the same power; the same story... not as much "sparkle"... but still kick-ass rock without the distractions. Best of luck for this re-release. I'll be refreshing my copy for sure :)

I like Vandenbergs playing more on the original recording than Hoekstras leads on the reissue. Emagine what powerhouse WS would have been with Vandenberg and Sykes. Actually Vandenberg is just as important to the whitesnake sound as Sykes. They would have been the most awsome guitar duo.

After 2 amazing albums in the self titled and slip of the tongue, I’m not sure who thought it was a good idea to go back to the 70’s on a restless heart. Not saying there wasn’t some good songs but they play that damn organ on every single song🤦🏻♂️!
