Dr. Feelgood was released on this day 8/28/89. It's the fifth studio album by American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. Dr. Feelgood topped the Billboard 200 chart, making it the band's only album to claim this position as of 2020. It was the first album Mötley Crüe recorded after their quest for sobriety & rehabilitation in 1989. In addition to being Mötley Crüe's best selling album, it is highly regarded by music critics & fans as the band's best studio album. This was also the band's last album to be recorded with lead singer Vince Neil until the 1997 album Generation Swine.

The first night they were introduced by my friend Sam Kinison. Loved that show, I caught it in Austin, plus 2 chicks were fighting over a guy, no pantys on either, fucking great show
@BVE if a problem rises up, you gotta beat it down!
that must've been incredible!
@@bonniek2929 it definitely was. I was 14 years old and it was complete culture shock! I'll never forget that night. After Tommy's drum solo, he pulled down those leather thong-speedos he was wearing, mooned the audience, and said: "Fuck you Chapel Hill"! Lol!
As a child of the 80s I have a vivid recollection of hearing this song
I feel sick 🤒
bro said “guitar” n dude SNAPPED 😂💪🏾
One of the best song openings ever!
yay yay
They bring it back for the closing too
Everytime i hear gotta blast it

I was a teenager in the 80's !!! YES!!! THE 80's ROCK!!!
Luckyyy
The awesomeness of the guitar , the powerful of the drums , the strength of that bass and just the uniqueness voice just amazing.
It really is
I discovered Motley Cruel through the dirt, what a lifestyle and what music! I was born in 1989 listened to Guns n roses, Kiss, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne, and many different other style of rock, punk rock, pop rock, etc.. But how did I never hear about this band until last night?? I'm hooked on it! Haven't listened to rock music in the past few years, so I'm so glad I can listen to Motley Crue, feel like a new band to me! Hopefully they will tour again in a few years, although I do wish I could have seen them back in the 80s/90s 😁
Cinderella is another one to check out if you like Motley Crue
I was also born in 1989 and listened to Guns N' Roses etc but had rarely heard Motley - Happy that I have now!
I've heard this song a thousand times, didn't realize it was motley crue. The Dirt brought me here too!
Hate to be the barer or bad news, but their last tour was in 2015... wish I could’ve been to one.
WHAT!?.. born in 83 and grew up on Mötley and GnR.. I also have no clue how you could know about one and not the other.. perhaps you just listen to music opposed to learn the members, their story etc.. if you really dug into GnR when growing up you more than likely would've read GnR and Motley went on tour together. Some simply listen to music and others live through it. I consider myself the latter
The first 30 seconds: THAT *HYDRAULIC* BASS LINE!
I was a kid in the 80's and would give anything to go back! Best decade ever!
80's MUSIC NEVER DIES !
Damn right
3:02 This solo is just heavenly
Mick Mars playing a black Kramer guitar is the most 80's thing you can ever see in UA-cam.
Or hearing Vince saying "guitar" B4 the solo.

Loved loved lovedddd growing up in the 80's and going to your concerts! No one these days will ever be better than 80's Rock!!
@Laura hello, how are you doing it is nice meeting you here.
I lined up for hours when this album first came out. I am a massive Motley Crue fan. I love ya Tommy, Nikki, Mick and Vince. I can't wait to they tour Adelaide again.
Loved this old hard rock. Greatest time in music history in my opinion. We had mental, glam, metal, hard rock, grunge, alternative, great country music and I could go on. Truly magical time!
I'm 23 year-old Japanese, and my father in his late 40s once taught me his passion for them and how they were brilliant.
They create amazing fascinating driving crazy music. I've been literally obsessed with them since I was a high schooler.
By what abou the band Loudness?!?!
Love this track. 🎸😎 The 80s, brilliant time to be a teenager.

How could we leave out Motley Crue in November 2024?😊😊❤xxxxxxx
That’s my favorite MC song. It’s on many playlists. I swim to it. I clean house with it. It’s my song ☺️
9/1/89 it was in september you should know that 😉
It's actually Ausust 28th 1989.
I was in high school when this song dropped....one of the best
the Crue is one of the best concerts and shows that I've ever seen in my life I will always love them forever !!
Even when I saw them in 1999, this was still true. I wonder if they ever started aging?
Imagine the lifestyle of a rock star what an amazing journey these guys have been on love watching there live stage shows the atmosphere must have been electric!!
and they have admitted they don't remember most of what they experienced because a lot of the time they were so hyped up on coke and whatever other drug they were off in la la land
Takes me back to the best time of my life. I was sixteen when this album came out. I saw the Crue two nights in a row on the Dr. Feelgood tour at The Forum in Los Angeles. The first night they were introduced by my friend Sam Kinison. The next night I went with some friends who picked me up in a white stretch limo and we hung out with Ratt and Mick Mars' family while we watched the show from great balcony seats. It was totally awesome. They were the best of times, they were...hell, they were the best times ever!
damn you were lit as fuck! Awesome memories
You're so lucky woah
Sick with envy! Man I wish Sam was still around I loved that guy! Best thing to ever creep out if Needles, Ca. Rest In Peace, my man ♥️🙏

Life's fully of ironies, Motley Crue getting (relatively) clean leads to one of their best albums.
I just got home from a Motley Crue concert at Summerfest! BEST!!!! CONCERT!!!!!!! EVER!!!!
Agreed! 🙂 I was there too. My favorite concert yet!
no mick no motley i refuse to go see them they lied i went to the farewell tour never again
Without Mick, there is no such thing as Motley Crue anymore.
The same people who say they are born in the wrong time were the same who said that in the 90's 80's 70's 60's....
Just live your life rock style!
Accurate down to a T^^^^
Notice how it only goes back to the 50s. And not before, this shows us that the 50s were what should've continued but didn't.
soundeagle That’s not why. It’s because there was no rock and roll before the 50s
The 80's & 90's was great to grow up in for the music.
Can’t say that about 2020 🖕🏾
Best songs Mötley Crüe ever 1. Dr Feelgood 2. Kickstart My Heart 3. Too young to fall in love MÖTLEY FREAKING CRÜE FOREVER
This must be my favourite Motley Crue song that fabulous Nikki Sixx bass Vince’s vocals are fantastic and Mick’s solo is too short Tommy Lee beats those drums and video is out of this world I love 💝 it all
All I have to say is, I'm happy to have grown up with them. I was front row for the Dr Feelgood tour.
Lucky!!
Oh F you , lucky bastard!!! Green with envy!!!
Hey what's sad is if you watch their current concert tour of the song he doesn't even remember his own words he's just like making up s*** as he's singing his lip singing of his own song sad but that was a hell of a concert and a hell of a song still badass
You're very lucky. I was born late in the 80's
I saw them in 05 in Brisbane Australia the Crue and Motorhead open for them sum massive steel and bone there and local acts Casanovas
Killer song! A production Masterpiece. Hats off to Bob Rock and Motley Crue.
My mom raised me on hair bands. So happy about the biopic. They did an awesome job! 🤘
Travelling back from the Gold coast Australia to home when my 5 year old son tells me dad turn this song up every time it comes on the radio ❤
I’m 13, this is the music I enjoy. Rock from the 70s and 80s. It’s one of the things that me and my dad really like. Me and him jam out to this on the way to sport events on the way to school etc. I’ve been listening to this type of music since the day I was born and I’m gonna keep listening to it till I die. I’m going to show this to my kids and grand kids. I hope that this type of rock lives on for ever. 🤟 Rock On
Is that Lil Tay...
3 decades later, the drums still sound amazing.
Bob Rock ftw
I used to love this song for drums and in the past ten years or so have liked the guitars more - cuz that riff is INSANE. but the drums....!
I was on my way to an event a few weeks ago and my Uber driver played this. I hadn’t heard it years! And I’be been playing everyday since. Between the guitar and drums this song is utter perfection!
Mick’s the really cute one of Motley Crue 😊 those big dark eyes and the genuine hair metal hairdo he was the best😊❤xxx
Man I truly had the best times being a teen back then! These concerts like so many other bands were epic highlights made great memories! The best ever! People were real and people just had fun!! I enjoyed camping out for these concert tickets along with many other bands! Front row tickets in the center best spots in the house. Surrounded by all my friends good times!!!
@Denise Y'all are the damn best. I'm honored to have the kind of support that you show me, thank you. How are you doing it is nice meeting you here btw
Hell yeah I am still listening in 2021. This era of music is the best hands down.
One of the few bands of the hair metal era that at least tried to still sound heavy, even if they weren't always metal. They tried to stay somewhat heavy and somewhat metal, which is more than 90% of those bands did, and so they get my respect, if not my adoration.
they make me wish I was alive during the 80s 😭😭
They really do man, I'm 19 and every time i listen to them it makes me want to live in that time.
There was a lot of shit
Same
@@danielsonfire55 yeah no UA-cam so u had to just hope the song came on the radio yeah it's sure good living in that time
Damn Rock music kicked ass on the 80s. Great time to be on high school.
Mick Mars is an absolute riff master so many recognisable and awesome fun riffs.
Love the intro. It was made in the late eighties, but it still has a groove as hard and heavy as it gets.
Bought a Hardrive from Goodwill, checked the music, and this song was there
Well, good thing it was
I was hiking and this song came on shuffle (having not previously heard it) and those drums gave me a second wind like you wouldn’t even know!
The drums in the beginning get me going in the morning
I believe Bobby Rock produced this album. The Crue was all clean. Brilliant album.
My favorite song when I was 6 years old...remember my older brother playing this CD and loved the video on MTV
Their is not a better intro to a song than this one. I been rocking this song for over 30 and this intro kicks ass everytime.
Same!!! (Born 1976)
May of 2021 and this song is still dope AF. Man I love the Crue. Kids today just dont know what they missed out on.
I’m 11 and I do know what I missed out on, but at least I am going to see them live with Def Lepperd and Poison live in a year
They didn't miss out on anything, the music is here forever....

LYRICS
Rat tailed Jimmy is a second hand hood
He deals out in Hollywood
Got a '65 Chevy primered flames
Traded for some powdered goods
Jigsaw Jimmy he's runnin' a gang
But I hear he's doin' okay
Got a cozy little job sells the Mexican mob
Packages of candy cane
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
He's the one that makes ya feel alright
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
Cops on the corner always ignore
Somebody's getting paid
Jimmy's got it wired, law's for hire
Got it make in the shade
Got a little hideaway, does business all day
But at night he'll always be found
Selling sugar to the sweet
People on the street
Call this Jimmy's town
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
He's the one that makes ya feel alright
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
He's gonna be your Frankenstein
I've got one thing you'll understand (Dr. Feelgood)
He's not what you'd call a glamorous man (Dr. Feelgood)
Got one thing that's easily understood (Dr. Feelgood)
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood oh yeah
He'll tell you he's the king of these Barrio streets
Moving up to Shangri La
Came by his wealth as a matter of luck
Says he never broke no law
Two time loser running out of juice
Time to move out quick
Heard a rumor going round
Jimmy's going down
This time it's gonna stick
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
He's the one that makes ya feel alright
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
He's gonna be your Frankenstein
Let him soothe your soul, just take his hand (Dr. Feelgood)
Some people call him an evil man (Dr. Feelgood)
Let him introduce himself real good (Dr. Feelgood)
He's the only one they call feelgood (Dr. Feelgood)
I've got one thing you'll understand (Dr. Feelgood)
He's not what you'd call a glamorous man (Dr. Feelgood)
Got one thing that's easily understood (Dr. Feelgood)
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
Dr. Feelgood (Dr. Feelgood)
Dr. Feelgood (Dr. Feelgood)
Dr. Feelgood (Dr. Feelgood)
Dr. Feelgood (Dr. Feelgood)
Feelgood, Feelgood, Feelgood, Feelgood
