@@gsp6517 don’t try to argue with the ignorant Sonic music community about Senoue’s legacy with Genesis sound programming. You need to accept that they will always believe the “Sonic 4 drums and soundfont” are completely unacceptable and Senoue is incapable of doing anything outside of shredding his guitars. 🥴
I can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said. Incredibly done and very faithful to the style of Blast. Always wanted this since I heard the tape!
Nice! The FM sounds like something Jun Senoue would’ve used back then, but the PSG sounds more like Tatsuyuki Maeda’s style with the slight vibrato and delay effects. Now that I think about it, Jun seldom used a second FM channel for delay in 3D Blast, and that was also more of Tatsuyuki’s thing in that soundtrack(and in others like J-League). I guess we can treat this like the 2nd boss theme where Jun composed it, while someone else arranged it for the game. Either way, good work!
You're right! I think for the next one, I'll go with Senoue's more typical style (using extra channels for side harmony rather than echo, playing harmonies on square waves instead of detune, etc.)

Yeah... about that... what do you think about them now that the game is out? Personally, I think JS was busy or something, because the songs sound like they ripped the OG PC version and ran those through a converter instead of a mixer...
It's clear to me that Jun should not be allowed touch anything classic Sonic related when it comes to anything beyond composing. He's a great composer but man, he just does the lazy thing and uses a Genesis sound font. Sonic 3D Blast had music composed by Jun, but it was programed by Seirou Okamoto if I remember correctly. Pair those two up again, not only because Seirou is a great music programer, but a great composer in their own right. Jun could have somebody to bounce off of instead of being left to his own devices.
@@noobguy57 It would be hard to do it even in a ROM Hack of the original genesis game.
