A very great demake of the 3DS's remake of this theme, but now all I can think of is... "If Jun can extend and expand a Classic Sonic song to a near 3 minute song before it loops, and it's for a Classic Sonic boss fight... what the hell happened with Superstars's boss themes???"
Changing the lead instruments for the second chorus actually makes sense, cause that's what happened in the Generations version. The first chorus was done by Jun Senoue on lead guitar, and the second one was Alex Makhlouf doing a keyboard solo. Alex actually did the Generations version by himself originally, and you can hear his version in older demos of the 3DS version. Jun heard Alex's version and wanted to contribute to it, and the final version was what we got from that.
I was going to say that the version of the Generations soundtrack I have said this was by Cash Cash and not Jun, so seeing Jun is on guitar on that makes sense.
I like to think this was the original version that Senoue had in mind, but because of the limited resources of Sonic 3K, the original version was incomplete.
@@MastaGambitactually the original song wasn't composed by him, it's unknown who did what in S3 since there were a shitton of composers working on it, but of what we know, Senoue only said that he had done the completed act theme, the "NO WAY" theme and some of the bonus stages (debatably he also did Balloon Park), Big Arms wasn't done by him though
As far as I know the Generations 3DS remix of Big Arm Theme is an exclusive work of Cash Cash, not Jun Senoue. For those who don't know, they made "Reach for the Stars" for the Sonic Colors, as well as several other Remixes in Sonic Generations, and not just 3DS - for instance, Escape from the City remix in Generations is also their work. Jun Senoue is a great musician, but let's give proper credit where it's due. ))
I'm not trying to make a dig at Cash Cash or anything. It's just that Big Arm was released as part of Jun Senoue's album The Works II, so I attributed it to him.
@@Sengin31 If I had to guess why that's the case, then that's probably because Jun is hired full-time in the official capacity as the Sound Producer within Sonic Team, and since the joint collab with CC was treated as outsourcing while the Sonic Team retains all the rights to all of the materials and content produced for the franchise, then it's no wonder that CC cannot OFFICIALLY attribute the track to themselves - strictly speaking, is was never their Intellectual Property to begin with. Problem is, they could have been at least credited in the album in any form, but to my knowledge they weren't. All this while there exists an official interview with both Senoue and CC where they speak about who did what in specific games.

I hope one day someone can find the lost Doomsday Zone remix that was originally planned for 3DS Generations. As far as I’m aware the only thing we have was a short clip of Big Arm from Generations and a bit of the music is heard.
If this version were in the original release of Sonic the Hedgehog 03, this track is one that I feel would definitely deserve the Dancing Mad/F~Zero 099 Main Menu treatment: Music that seamlessly transitions into the next segment is something that we have witnessed both on the Megadrive and Super Famicom that I feel that this will possibly be the easiest way to listen to the later portions of Big Arm's theme without having to let the fight go on for the full 0207 Seconds of the track; what I mean by this is that when Doomsday Act II ("Death Egg III") recognizes that Kyodai Eggman Robo is in its Second Phase (Master Emerald Laser) and Escape Phase (Robotnik Carrying the Master Emerald), the music transitions into playing only the later and final verses to further increase the impact that the fight is delivering, we have witnessed this in a few ROM hacks with other bosses in a way that is not a Pinch Mode and it'll be nice to witness that treatment delivered here because of how it would improve the overall quality of the battle and still deliver the intended mood, wishfully this'll influence other modders to deliver similar for future projects and it'll be interesting to witness how the SMPS and GEMS Driver handle this for longer tracks that can exceed north of Ten Minutes in their complete form. Don't know for sure, but a guess is that sonic's hitbox overlapped both fingers on the same frame. The game only lets you hit one object per frame, and there's a delay before you can hit another object. By the time he's able to hit something else, his momentum plus that given by bouncing off the first finger, has him inside the hitbox of the second finger too close to the ground to bounce off of so he just stands up.
