Meanwhile the 800s i play: nonstop assault on my 2nd rank, impeccable counterplay, pins all my pieces and picks me up piece by piece. These 800s: hangs all of their pieces
@@cooldude2251 I would suggest that you don't play the kind of openings that they play all the time. If they play e4 against you then don't play e5, learn the Scandinavian, Caro-Kan, French, or some other opening. When you play as white, avoid playing the e4-Nf3-Nc3-Bc4 setup, that's what they play all the time and if you play anything else you will get them out of their comfort zone (you can try the Scotch, the King's gambit, the Vienna, the Italian with c3 and d4, the Evan's gambit, the Queen's gambit, the London etc.). Other than that, always make sure that you are not giving away any pieces for free, the best way to avoid such blunders is to have almost all of your pieces defended by pawns or at least by other pieces most of the time. If you have a lot of undefended pieces, chances are you will give some of them for free and also tactics will appear for your opponent (undefended pieces are a magnet for tactics). If pins are bothering you, you can avoid them by moving the h pawn in order to prevent the pin. If they pin you but you still haven't castled yet, then you have the option of pushing the h pawn and then the g pawn completely unpining and then castling queenside. Pay attention to forcing moves such as checks and captures (both for yourself and for your opponent). Trust me, if you follow this advice and you keep playing you will quickly be over 1000 and you will think 800s are horrible players. When I started playing chess 800 rated blitz players looked incredibly strong to me, they looked like chess gods and back then I would describe them in similar ways that you did but I kept playing and I surpassed them.
@@cooldude2251 Also 800s blunder against you more than you think, you just don't see it. One thing that helped me spot opponents blunders was asking myself after every opponents move "OK, my opponent made a move, why is his move a bad move?" I would also ask myself why is my opponent's move a good move, what is he attacking, what are his threats. Apart from that looking for checks and captures and looking for undefended pieces helps a lot.
