Hi, I was the 2000 rated player in the video. Likely a result of nerves, but I was so pessimistic of my position after 6...Nc6 that I had convinced myself that I had lost the pawn despite there being obvious moves like d5 and Be2 to save it. And then as soon as I played Nxe4 I realised the trap... it's crazy how much your psychological state affects how you play.
Tbf playing Gotham and knowing thousands of people will watch the game would've probably wrecked my nerves too. Besides that you played a good game anyway :) (coming from a 850 so I'm not sure how valid my estimation is lol)
This is legitimately the best and most informative video series that Levy does. I love these a lot, I think it's such an educational way of watching chess.
No Joke Iv been watching this specific series for months now as a sleep aid, like every single episode multiple times now. something about the slower pace, relaxed teaching and constantly changing things to focus on, helps me drift off to sleep so perfectly.
Same here lol, idk what it is but when I wanna go to sleep I just put on one of his vids and am asleep in like under 10 minutes haha. If I have a uninteresting video on, then I just don't even pay attention to it and end up thinking about other things, which keeps me awake ... And other kinds of videos may be really interesting and deep but they require full attention to understand properly, other kins of videos are like funny, crazy, chaotic, and none of them really help to sleep. But somehow these ones are like the perfect thing for it
@@louiserocks1 haha yeah. also the rating disparity sorta adds this extra level of comfort. like I ain't feeling any stress that he'll lose and it puts me even more at ease.
There is so much dedications to these videos. Imagine having to sit talking for an hour and twenty minutes straight, while talking up strategies with no edit skips. Just really surprised, and honestly, you deserve a hand, bro.
I was _just_ beginning to watch the series from the first episode while using it for study, and had few minutes ago finished the first video. Thank you for the blessing
Oh, yes. Thanks so much levi. Once I just had autoplay on and it got me to your channel, bringing me into the world off chess for the first time. It brought me more places to get banned (im fr, but not for cheating), a nice community, and into a great and strategic game. In about 3 months of grinding and watching hundreds of hours of your channel a week for those months, I reached about 1500. I took a break and casually went down to 1200... then deleted account like 50 times but we don't talk about that. Anyways, thanks for the "old times" as one of the first vid I ever watched from you was one from these series
I'm so glad you brought this series back! No one explains their ideas and plans better than you do and your videos are the main reason I've improved a lot at chess since I started a year and a half ago. Thank you
Been watching for years and besides some of the exciting tournaments, these “how to win at chess” videos are my favorite. Hoping for more and grateful for the series 🙏
I know it’s not practical, but I’d love to be able to hear the opponents thought process during the game too. Obviously it’s very informative when Levy explains the positions, but it would be fascinating to see if lower rated players see any of the moves/tactics that he explains and what their ideas are.
Hi Levy. Just want to say that I think these videos are the most instructive that you do. The 10 minute time control gives you plenty of time to talk about your thought process for each move, and I learn a lot from seeing the underlying mechanics going on.
Bring us more of this Levy! I’m a longterm subscriber, this content is what made me fall in love with your channel! But now, it’s even more evolved compared to the original! Good job!
You don't understand how much i loved this series i used to watch the series before I went to sleep. Thank you so much for bringing this series back Levy 🙏
Levy, your work ethic is genuinly impressive. Your voice is clearly tired yet you continue to bring exceptional content every day, even doing a long video. Keep up the great work and I hope you feel better soon.
Love the educational content. I understand that the meme type and drama content gets more clicks but you’re honestly one of the best chess educators on this platform
1:18:23 why is this so bad? You can return knight to d4 and this is not a pin anymore, because Rxc5 Nxf3+ gxf3 dxc5 And you basically traded your queens and lost a knight for a rook
Thanks to you and your book I picked up chess just after Christmas after about 29 years and have gone from wood to #1 in elite going into champion! You’re a legend Levy!
Started playing chess around last Xmas. Decided to buy your book a few days ago and really enjoy learning basic stuff and also being able to practice my new knowledge on Chessly thru all those nice drills you made. Kudos !
This was a great video, entertaining as usual but even more instructive. I initially avoided it because I saw how long it was, but it is well worth it. Already looking forward to the next one next Sunday. Thank you Levy!
I know these videos probably don't get a ton of views, but I love these videos so much. Thank you for still doing high-effort stuff like this occasionally.

you played well
So true, you literally become blind to stuff, that's why you have to train objectivity and method
Did you regret the grinding you did to get to 2000?
I am 1500 and I have to make a decision brother.
You are right, i've played in turnament and i was winning but then i got so nervous i blundered simple back rank mate (im 1200)

Honestly this was the series that got me watching this channel back when. Great stuff
Levy: I'm gonna play a dutch lenningrad
Also Levy: I don't know what I'm doing I'm 800
Also Levy: I’m going to play like a 1000.
