- I know some may take issue with my title of "new". However, is you have been or are the 1911 pistol, and you wear your "Boomer" Badge proudly. Then you will agree the "new" 1911's coming out of Springfield Armory for 2024 are a vibe, as the kids say these days.
This in a Double Stack and Optic Cut. Also a 4.25 threaded DS Version.
Not everything needs an optic cut
Yup 👍 nothing like iron sights . I prefer ghost ring 💍 sights
I think they dropped the ball by not cutting the slide for an optic.
Agreed. As I mentioned I feel the emissary could have been held off,
and been part of next prodigy release
Did you buy their previous optic mounted 1911’s?
@@DukeTolgo I have one in the past
I just dont understand why they dont put ambi safeties. I have the original emissary in 45 commander model. Would definitely buy this one too, but I want a 5 inch with ambi safety.
how about one of these 1911 companies build a double stack 45 acp. They would sell out.
Agree. I don’t mind 9mm but I feel there’s better guns for 9mm.
In 45 acp I love the 1911. Love the history of it. I’d ADORE A steel framed 2011 with pic rail.
I’m not sure they could get the money out of a 13 round 1911 double stack. There is a reason it’s not being done. I get there are guys who like 45’ but I bet if there was a poll. The capacity of the 9mm would win
I not 100% but I’m
Pretty sure there has not been a double stack 1911 in 45 cap in the last 15 maybe even 20 years.
Nighthawk has them. They ain’t selling out.
My guest for no 45 double stack is maybe the grip would be too fat. Might not have a solid grip on the handle
It’s cool, but 9mm 1911’s don’t make a lot of sense to me. It’s .45 or 10mm for me. My CZ Shadow 2 SA costs and weights about the same, has a nicer trigger and twice the capacity. It’s a looker, though.
All valid points. But it’s an apples and oranges comparison.
@@rdrgear I think the comparison is closer than you think. Both are full sized, steel-framed, 5” Browning tilt-barrel with single-action triggers and iron sights. Other than capacity, not that much different.
@@wisco_guySingle. Action. Only.
@@bloodbased My Shadow 2 SA has a single action trigger. So?
Has any reviewer had a bad experience with a manufacturer provided gun? Of course they're sending out tuned guns. Every Springfield 9mm 1911 review were the reviewer acquired on their own had operating issues.
@@rogerwarren7908 I used to think we got tuned guns. Or marketing samples that had been “inspected”. So when the 1911 DS prodigy’s came out. I bought the 4” locally and got the 5” from Springfield. Both guns are 2k rounds To date,
9mm single stack guns can have issues. The operator model that I purchased. Which we did a review on. Worked great zero issues. Other than the rear size dove tail being too large for the actual sight. But the pistol performance was spot on.
Drop me a link on the other reviewers who had issues. I’m always watching and looking to see if it was pistol or shooter. There are a lot of content creators on the 1911 platform who have basic 1911 grip issues.
Jeff 🤙
Nice gun
Still no ambi thumb safety and they still aren’t fitting the extractor. That is why it sticks out from the rear of the slide. That is just lazy. Also this thing needs a magwell and an optic cut. It’s 2024.
Looks good. I see they are crying about it being 9, single stack and not cut for optics. An all steel 1911 in 9 shoots like single barrel Jack, it’s good.
Probably one of the sexiest looking 1911s out there, but I don’t like the tri-top serrations. Not my jam, that’s why I don’t like CZ guns other than the p10 series
I wish they offered optic ready versions of their 1911s. I think their DS optic cuts are brilliant.
Agreed
So what i just heard was that Springfield would maybe let me convince them to give me a chance to review one of their new 9mm. my shtick is going to be "normie shooter reviews"
according to the guys at my range im like "really good at shooting" Just got a shadow 2 compact for my first one. (check shorts for proof lol)
Nice 4runner!
Love my commander size in 45
Not adding an optic cut is pure idiocy.
Girscan mc1911sc should be on every one’s watch list . I love mine
Absolutely not.
Tell the great “guys” at Springfield Marketing to stop spreading the love (BS) and let their engineering team redesign this pistol with an optics ready slide. No Optics = “No” purchase. Springfield needs to grow up and stop marketing to old geezers. I’m old too, but I expect and demand more for my money, and we should just say no to these manufacturers that are coming out with a less than product. This is a money grab without delivering value to the consumer! Didn’t bother wasting my time watching this review for a pistol made for the last century.
Lol this is such a tactitard response
I guess you’re only interested in yourself. Great going on supporting the rest of of the 2A-community, Not. I just wanna point out the name-calling only goes to show your lack of education and. …You be you!
Did you ever stop to think not everyone share your opinion.
Comments are where I get to share my opinion, correct? My opinion may not be popular to you, but are based on facts. Overwhelmingly, consumers prefer to have optics ready pistols. If my assumption is incorrect please share the data and try to avoid any antidotes or feelings . Just the facts, please.
A National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers and National Shooting Sports Foundation report released this month found most enthusiasts purchasing a new pistol either want a red-dot optic on the gun or the ability to mount an aftermarket version easily.
I have the original Emissary, and I love it. I'm a Springfield Armory 1911 fan. However, I bought a Prodigy last month. It was a failure. It's at Springfield Armory now. Since its introduction, you'd think Springfield Armory would have these issues straight now. Before Springfield Armory considers making an Emissary double stack, etc, they better do some serious QC testing.
You probably picked up an old stock prodigy that hasn’t received the updates SA put out. But I agree it’s been a bust and I’ve been waiting myself for a 2nd gen model.
@@HeyHayden917 Sounds like it. My friend has one it he has 1500 rounds with no issues.
Better than any Turkish POS 1911.
I have had 6 of them
Over the last 2 years. Not one issue with any of them.
Unfortunately for me my experience is been that Turkish 1911 have been my most consistent reliable 1911z
I just got the girscan mc1911sc in 9mm. Took it to range twice now and zero issues with ball or jhp . The Turks make good 1911s
@@DARTHDANSAN not had the best luck with Girsan products. I would definitely recommend Tisas or Girsan. In pretty much all areas.
This post gave me cancer. The SDS 1911s are exceptional.
A single stack 1911 in 9mm or .45 ACP? How original.
They already have a double stack. It’s called the Prodigy. Though I do wish someone would make a Para-ordnance style double stack 1911.
No optic cut. HARD PASS
I am surprised it isn't the new standard for pistols as an option.
Agreed. I’m sure something
Is coming
