You’re right I could never get enough 1911 content. I’d like to know more about your Pachmayre CS. Also if SA stopped making the Professional to the contract spec, what’s different between those guns? Thanks for all the content 👌🏻
@@user-yj7ph9vk2k You’re correct. But you can’t deny that the TRP looks insanely good. It may not be the best option, but it’s still a beautiful looking gun.
Still have my non-railed TRP, bought from a teammate that retired from a California LE agency, roughly 10 years ago. Not bad as it was, but I 10-8d all the parts I could. (Including the limited edition barrel, bushing, mag release, slide stop, rear sight, small pins, etc.) Now, it drives nails versus tacks.
It's interesting that SA is still using the full-length guide rod on the TRP Operator that requires the paper clip method for takedown, when the regular (non-railed) TRP comes with the full-length 2-piece guide rod disassembled with a hex key. I much prefer the latter.
Appreciate the content of this video, answered a number of my questions. Another I’m wondering about is are there any mim parts I would need to be concerned about?
I'm a Springfield 1911 guy, have them all. Just bought the Emissary today in 9mm. Out of the box without lube or cleaning ran 100 CCI Blazer Brass without a single malfunction. Seven yards one inch groups ( with me shooting, haha). Cleaned and lubed, shot fifty rounds Freedom Munitions reloads, had seven failure to feeds. I can't blame it for that, my plastic guns run their reloads but with the 1911's they are so, so. But let me say this, only "flat" bottom mag's will work. Mag's for my Range Officer that have sort of a rounded bottom will not work, they bind up in the mag well. Regular 1911 9mm mags with a "flat" bottom" work fine. Also it will not eject a mag that is full of bullets, you have to pull it out from the bottom, empty ones ejects, go figure. The fore-grip will have to be sanded and smoothed out, way too rough, not a big deal. Slide fit and finish is amazing. I love my Springfield EMP''s but this might be my new "go to gun" even if it is on the heavy side. By the way just found your channel, love it.
@@jackmarks2176 I can’t wait to do mine it cuts my pinky and ring finger after only like 20rnds. I’m gonna file mine down and Cerekote over it…. How did the finish look after you filed it down?
@@WhitewaterOutdoors You can't tell the difference because the stainless isn't coated. I used a jewelers file. Shot it yesterday, 100 rounds and not a single malfunction.
I like the stock recoil spring rod on my TRP. It works great and I dont mind to sacrifice a paper clip once in a while. I never understood the complaint about it.
Ordering the 10-8 paperclip mods for my soon to be even more woved Emmy. Thanks for another great video, Hilton ~ ! Any RONIN Commander 9mm content in the stars? Thanks, Randy
Hello. Can you do a video on your recommendations for dry fire (Mantix X Elite, etc)? Where can we obtain dry fire mags that work in 1911s, specifically for Springfield Emissary 9mm, that do not require to rack the slide each time you pull the trigger during dry fire training? Thank you.
Hi Hilton great videos thank you. I own a Dan Wesson TCP and as you probably know it has a cone barrel and you have to use a paper clip to field strip the gun. Does your reverse plug kit work on this particular gun.
My lgs in Cali has a couple of them full rail , and a couple other lgs have one each but I wanted to buy a Dan Wesson Pointman 7 45 in Stainless no mim and awesome gun , I'll probably pick one up later but no rush it's a very well put together gun, DW as 1709 and SA is 1849 when I get it I'll order the plug from 10-8 to turn it in to a standard GI
Being a lefty and having phased out 45 ACP in favor of all 9mm I have very limited 1911 choices. I have for the time being found what I need in the EMP 4 Lightweight Operator. What concerns me is why it has been discontinued.
@@108Performance I was thinking that. The Lightweight Champion and Carry Contour didn't sell well, but the Ronin does. So they run with the Ronin. Of course the Ronin does not come with an ambi safety.
Hi, love your emissary contents. Just got one has feeding issues, jamming all type of problems does your products fix these issues and does it fit the 4.25" 9mm
Hilton, what is your opinion on Springfield Armory as a company? And an opinion on their 1911s ? I am a big 1911 fan since childhood carry one as my EDC
I want a 1911. I can't decide what tho. I was interested in a kimber but I'm hearing their quality has went down the last couple of years. I like my Springfield xdm 9 so I wouldn't mind staying with them. A 1911 wouldn't be a EDC for me. I want one just to have one. I'd most likely want a 9mm as I have plenty of rounds already.
I own the full length top operator for the 1st year, the emissary, the professional and a emissary 4.25 9mm I hate u-notch sights... swapped them out on my 9mm emissary.
These high-end tactical 1911s like the TRP Operator, Colt CCU, or Dan Wesson Specialist are undoubtedly very well built and great performing firearms BUT each one is nearly four times the cost of a new Glock or M&P 2.0. It’s easy to see why every military and police force has ‘gone polymer’ 🔫
I really don't like the look of the pineapple grenade texturing on the front and back strap on the Emissary. Also not a fan of the new font type and smaller text of the slide markings on the newer Springfield's. Bring back the older larger text and font type.
Square trigger guard is distinct looking. When done right it looks way better than the traditional round. The design choice has been around for a while. I think the Infinity frame looks better and the JEM frames look the best.
You’re right I could never get enough 1911 content. I’d like to know more about your Pachmayre CS. Also if SA stopped making the Professional to the contract spec, what’s different between those guns? Thanks for all the content 👌🏻

Springfield needs to be pressured to produce more TRPs. I’ve been waiting to buy one for years.
Don’t. buy a Dan Wesson. TRPs are just another production gun, not what they were

@@user-yj7ph9vk2k I want both
I carry the trp for 10 years on patrol. Tooless guiderod makes life simple no need for a paper clip
Fantastic products all my 1911s have 10.8 rear sights and slide stops.
I really appreciate these videos. Almost as much as I appreciate the 10-8 parts on my range-toy 1911.
Thank you for sharing your expertise

Dawson Precision makes a tool - less full-length guide rod.

What part are you talking about smoothing out? The front of the grip? Just wondering
@@WhitewaterOutdoors Ya, the fore-grip, you need lumber jack hands to hold on to it. I filed the sharp edges off it, feels great now.

You should do a shooting comparison of these two remarkable firearms
Any chance of doing a video about the colt ccu full size? Care to touch on colts quality as of late? Good guns for the money or nah?

Hey sir, what grips are those on your TRP full rail?
Hi, love your emissary contents. Just got one has feeding issues, jamming all type of problems does your products fix these issues and does it fit the 4.25" 9mm
Just dropping in parts won't fix a function issue. Either send it back for warranty or take it to a 1911 specialist gunsmith.
A Techwell magwell and grips might work well on the Emmisary.
I locally came across a loaded MC operator. Is it a safe bet to pick up over a TRP full rail? I like both but trying to choose
