John Paul Jones is so underrated in his importance in this band! He's killing it on the keyboads and playing the bassline with his footpedals. Outstanding!
An older girl back in the 80's told me after we agreed that Led Zeppelin was so great - "He's a gorgeous man". I got my long blonde hair a perm. Some girls in high school saw what I was going for and nicknamed me "Robert". Great memories.😊❤
This could never be replicated in a studio - Page and Plant speaking to each other and Bonham and Jones complimenting as they always do. Amazing feel!!
How secure Jimmy and Robert must have felt knowing that they had two virtuosos in John Henry Bonham and John Paul Jones keeping rhythm while they improvised Love your channel! Thank you 🙏
I've now seen enough "vocal coaches" react to Robert Plant now. I know for a fact you're all very very good at what you do today (2024). But none of you recognize that this is 1973 and Robert never had a vocal coach. Everything you're talking about came to him naturally/soulfully. He likely had no "science" behind his ability, just pure heartfelt lyrics. :) One element of what made him & LZ the GOAT!!! Love your racts and look forward to more LZ reacts hopefully. :)
My opinion Robert Plant is the greatest singer, his amazing range tone & texture. He always uses his vocals to perfection, to suit so many genres of their music. I’ve loved this band for about 50 years, though I love all, Plants vocals always bring everything together.
I have seen many bands live including Led Zeppelin. On top of his unparalleled vocals, no one has the presence and performance command that Robert Plant has while on stage. It’s had to describe but just draws your eyes to where he is.
@@Tom33070 back in the day I saw quite a few concerts, sadly not Led Zeppelin, but watching these lives of concerts yes he does draw your attention. I was to young in their early days, the closest one later was Tampa in 77, still to young to drive & no rides with friends. That would have been a very short concert, I believe only 2 songs were played, then rained out. I’d have traded all my other concerts, just to see Led Zeppelin.
Great reaction as usual. Tickles me to see you squeal in delight at the ear candy. One of your next Led Zeppelin reactions should be their song Kashmir (Live at Knebworth 1979). Legendary, epic, phenominal, showcases some of their diversity and originality. A finely tuned integrated musical instrument with no loss of spontaneity, creativity, or progressiveness and with wide musical influences from other cultures.
HOLY FREAKING SMOKES ‼️ Be scarce (if not impossible) to find a woman in the States under 70 who can name Jay Hawkins. Mega Thumbs up to FINLAND 🇫🇮 This performance is of of a movie called The Song Remains The Same from 1973 @ Madison Square Gardens. My favorite versions of many Zepp songs; NO QUARTER, STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN, THE RAIN SONG, etc, etc??! It's the best BEST OF and LIVE combo! Great Channel! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
So glad to see you react to a Zeppelin song. Thank you ! I'm old enough to have seen them twice, once in 1975 and again in 1977. They were always my favorite. It wasn't even close. Hope you can find time to react to more of them. There is a video of them doing Stairway to Heaven from this same concert in 1973. Even though I'm sure you are familiar with this song, the live performance ad libs an extra several minutes to the song.
Whoa! Your language switch-up freaked me out! And I loved it, lol! Your accent is so enchanting, but also your incisive comments on Robert's vocals and Zeppelin itself made this a very pleasant watch, thanks!
This was such a gift for a bluesy Sunday. When does a song cross genres from blues to rock? Loved the radiant smile you had all song. So bright it could melt all Nordic Perma-Frost. Kiitos. ❤
hi anna. i love that you speak your native language and mix it up with English. i think it makes your reactions so interesting. love your content. cheers from OZ
Please do more Led Zeppelin / Robert Plant! You need to hear his voice in the first albums "Babe I'm gonna leave you" or "I can't quit you babe" greatest examples, is beautiful, also the songs, and the album inself, is very very bluesy
It makes me happy that someone of your generation can have such an appreciation for music of my generation. Bravo! You never cease to amaze me how you can flip back and forth between two languages. I hope you are doing well and being happy. Thank you for the video. More please.
Thank you Anna for your wonderful reaction to my favourite Zeppelin song, which still has the power to make me cry some 47 years after it first took my breath away 🤩
Wow, it does not matter what race, country you live in, sex, ethnicity, age or music background, anyone who listens to their music or sees them perform is an instant fan. Nice to see another lovely lady getting entertained by Robert and Jimmy, they always slay the ladies and blow away the guys. Simply the best, try No Quarters live at MSG 1973 for more magic. Enjoy! 🎵🎤🎹🎶
Dear, On your Queen video reaction of the live version of, " Somebody to Love " which I just saw, you said at the very end of the video that if we had any singers whose vibrato we would like you to hear, to let you know. OK, well, I do not know if you have reacted to any Bryan Ferry solo songs or any Roxy Music songs ( the band he was the founder and lead singer of before his solo career took off big in the early 1980's through the 90's and onward. ) His voice from 2,000 and onward became wispy snd scratchy from years of him smoking cigarettes like crazy...sad. I therefore recommend you react to anything from Roxy Music or him solo, from say 1973 to 1999. Very curious to hear your review of his voice and unique vibrato. He is one of my favorite singers ever and has a swaggy, vampiresque, full bodied voice with so much color and emotion in his delivery...it's just a wonderful instrument. ACTUALLY, he took a poem of Shakespeare, the famous, " Sonnet 18 " and put it to music in such a sublime, gorgeous, poignant manner...so please start with that. Thanks Dear. You rock. 🙏👑🙏 Here is the link to that Bryan Ferry song: From around year 2000. ua-cam.com/video/te_awMvsSkU/v-deo.htmlsi=YNgwYA4iNKGHVyzA Here is another song when he ( And his voice, were far younger ) " These Foolish Things " An old 1930s jazz classic he revamped in his own uniquely creative way...just Genius. These four Music gods met three weeks prior to record their first album. They did in 36 hours and it’s an incredible album from song 1 to the last song. Wow never happen again in our lifetime.❤😮
I actually like that your speak both English and Finnish in these videos. Every time you speak Finnish I'm just drifting off in my mind thinking "she's speaking Elf language again". But I never lose interest. :D
All time favorite band. I think if you listen close to the studio albums you can hear a change in Robert's voice between LZ3 and HOTH, and after that point he never regains that sound he had on 1-3. However he still does amazing and wonderful things with his vocals on every album. And nobody, I mean nobody has ever recreated his vocal sound. I'm sure you can name a few who got close - but I have never heard anyone who could reproduce his original sound. It is the greatest rock vocal sound ever bar none.
By late 73 or early 74, Plant did have to get nodule surgery which can really impact someone’s voice. Along with singing sick, not warming up, smoking, constant overuse, it can really damage someone’s voice. Obviously still the golden god though. 🤘
Well, I LOVE You. I'm a musician since 5 years old and play the same three instruments as my father did...he was a jazz/big band professional and played jazz clubs for 45 years. He was also a singer and so am I. I played in a couple rock bands long ago playing LOTS of Zeppelin and Queen, amongst other bands covers. I never saw your channel but have seen a few, " vocal coaches " review this song and by FAR you have nailed it and covered the actual valid, crucial points that make this song and Zep's live playing so good/great. You know music and music history and you understand things musically....Wow, impressive. I'm a subscriber now and nice to meet you. Keep going with Queen, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Jeff Beck, Eric Johnson, Deep Purple, Santana...Hiromi, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Classical music and on and on with whatever you like. You are awesome if I may say so. 🙏👑🙏
Great reaction, Anna! Just as Zeppelin was influenced by rock and blues before their time, they in turn influenced music that came later. One of the best! Robert Plant continues to delve into different genres of music today.
🤩 Прекрасная композиция! Плант безусловно ОГОНЬ 🔥Замечательный разбор, всё достаточно глубоко и точно! Получаю истинное удовольствие от ваших видео с реакцией!
Nice to listen to a professional reaction that makes sense and in laymen’s terms you know what you’re talking about and we can understand it , thank you👍😁
Brilliant reaction and analysis of a brilliant song and live iteration. One of my personal faves from my fave band. Really enjoyed your analysis, not just of Plant's voice (and Page's guitar singing), but of your music theory comments. Thank you
Great reaction. For a newer band that is modern but shows a lot of classic rock influences please check out the Warning. Hard to go wrong with them but a good starting point is their performance of Evolve at the 2023 MTV VMAs. For something with more familiarity their version (more than a cover) of Enter Sandman live at Teatro Metropolitan is pretty awesome.
Very well done, Anna! Yes those teenage years, wild! You are very well educated on Robert' vocal fold issues. This concert in NY was filmed in 1973, at Robert's peak, IMO. There is so many even better experiences on this concert DVD, "The Song Remains the Same"! Enjoy!! Thanks for the awesome Finnish/English call and response! I really do love hearing Finnish language, beautiful!!!! Thanks for all your work on these videos, you are doing great.
Wow, someone from Finland doing reveiws of my music back in the day. We had an exchange student from Finland my senior year in High School named Risto from Tampare. We became good friends and hung out together. He was a lot of fun. Turned me on to CC skiing and was a good ice skater when we played pond hockey. Good luck with your reviews.
Look for the version Jimmy Page and Robert Plant did for the "No Quarter - Jimmy Page and Robert Plant Unledded" TV special/DVD, filmed/recorded in 1994, where they do this with a full string section behind them. It's magical.
Love your references to, not only the contemporary Blues-influenced '60's/early '70s rock musicians like Janis & Jimi, but the older originators like Muddy & Screaming Jay ........ GO GIRL!!!!! -- & DON'T ignore bassist JPJ's contributions on keyboards
If you want more "singing without lyrics" Pink Floyd "The Great Gig in the Sky" either original audio from the album The Dark Side of the Moon or Pulse Concert 😉 for the deepest dive into the emotions surrounding Death you will ever hear. ❤
You are the 1st to mention hearing Janice Joplin in this performance as far as I have heard. I have long thought he was channeling her in this song. I remember both singers so well. In my 70's so their music was mine.
Back in the early '80s my friends and I drove down to Oakland, CA to see Zeppelin and a couple other rock bands at an event titled: A Day Zon The Green. Rick Derringer. But, thanks. Nicely done.
Anna, I think from now on a performance should be measured by how many "Confused head scratches it gets"! This song and "In My Time of Dying", also live, are two of my very favorite LZ performances. They show off the band's talent in a way the more polished studio versions can't. In addition to your vocal coaching prowess you have a deep understanding of blues masters. I'm a big jazz and blues fan too, which is probably why I enjoy their influences so much in LZ music. I read recently that 70% of music purchased is "old" rock instead of the latest song. It's easy to understand why when you look at these incredible concert videos. These classic rock bands from the 60's, 70's and some 80's are just playing at a level that isn't seen today. There's a commercialized sameness to today's music that gets very tedious if you grew up listening to the greats.
What a great reaction Anna! Many fine parts, but my fav was your illustrated "Chest/Head" voice ex, cuz I never understood the point completely until now... Thanx If you haven't reacted to Heart yet, I suggest their amazing cover of StairwayToHeaven when Zepp was honored at the KennedyCenter. Great performance by AnnWilson with the 3 surviving Zepp members looking on.
This is by far the best rock n roll performance of all time.
You are listening to the greatest rock outfit the world has even seen ... and yet they are a blues band at heart 😊
Well said.
I would say more like masters at fusion, purety, then fusion, then purety.......
John Paul Jones is so underrated in his importance in this band! He's killing it on the keyboads and playing the bassline with his footpedals. Outstanding!

They were like young gods walking the earth!
This could never be replicated in a studio - Page and Plant speaking to each other and Bonham and Jones complimenting as they always do. Amazing feel!!
Bonzo and Page would sing to each other a lot too.
How secure Jimmy and Robert must have felt knowing that they had two virtuosos in John Henry Bonham and John Paul Jones keeping rhythm while they improvised
Love your channel!
Thank you 🙏
Jones kept the rhythm, Bonzo drove the band
Oh, you're in for a treat. This is probably my favorite live performance of any song ever.
It’s mine too.
It's at least a "Rushmore" performance, if not the best ever.
Me too..
Definitely one of Zep's best performances
You should listen to the live 1971 version Robert was much better vocally
This is the performance that all live bands will be judged by. The acid test and benchmark. I seriously doubt it will be bettered
Greatest rock band to ever set foot on stage. Live performances were second to none and studio Albums were stunning
Listen to the Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore East….Band of Gypsies. It’s one of the greats no doubt but there are others.
This is an absolute lesson in Blues Rock ❤❤❤

Problem one of the best performances ever recorded, rock gods
Robert and Jimmy can interact musically at this level thanks to absolutely solid foundations laid by Bonzo and Jones'y- which allows them to this.

best song on the planet, thanx, you're great
