I belevie the capo actually goes on Fret 3 (Standard tuning) So if you wanna play along with the original recording you'd have to put it there. But if you're just playing for yourself it's not too important, as I said, I like it on 4, but you don't need it at all if you dont have any or for some reason dont want to use it :)

Same order for the entire song, change the grip at the same time as you would while playing the melody.

Wrong, the chorus has the pretty melody too, and its different
