Who said "stop making long videos"?
Bring back the long videos!
+Ivan Zavarzin They are probably basing it from video statistics.
I love the long vids :-)
+Ivan Zavarzin In my opinion the videos aren't long enough.
+Ivan Zavarzin In my opinion the videos aren't long enough.
+Kevin Maryles In my opinion the videos aren't long enough.
I audibly gasped when Rob flipped the guitar for the first time to show the tuner, and I saw the heel joint :O
+elitemathlete Are you being serious? The feel yeah, for sure.
More wood doesn't necessarily mean more resonance. If anything the opposite.
And neck joints like that (in the style of a neck-through) are a joy to play no matter what instrument they are used in.
So both of you are wrong. The gasp at the heel joint was in delight :P
+Tom SDM + I jacked of on that heel joint.
I meant it changes the feel for sure, in my opinion for the better. Personally I think people who think that wood has an impact on tone are cork sniffers hahaha the pickups are like 95 per cent of the tone
+Stephen Coburn It definitely changed it for the better, although I must disagree on your second point.
I said that taking out wood on the heel joint it doesn't mean less resonance. That doesn't mean that wood itself has no effect on the tone. Sure pickups contribute way more but to say that wood has no effect is akin to saying that all guitars are the same if given the same set of pickups, which simply isn't true.
I could go into the physics behind it if you wish.
Love the new room, and that's a pretty sweet Tesseract shirt. Also please don't stop the long videos, they're one of my favorite parts of my day.
Absolutely brilliant in Glasgow on Saturday Rob thank you so much for the signature and photo!!!
Great color grading on this video! The itself review is superb as usual - thank you, guys! :)
Just got one of these guitars today, and I'm running it through an '82 JCM800 and it is pure heaven🤘
Hey guys, I just gotta tell you that I watch your videos all the time and I really enjoy them. Of course, some are better than others but you guys give so much information about guitars and accessories. And that helps guitar players like me decide if I want or need a certain product. This video on Les Pauls is great because I'm getting ready to buy a LP and there are so many models I'm having a hard time making up my mind. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you I enjoy what you guys are doing.
longer videos are the best, you get the best stuff out of them. like another guy said, another 3 hour Christmas special would be awesome.
Always appreciate you guys taking the time to break down all the newest models that come out. Purchasing the ML-1 from your store was amazingly pain free for me as I expected all kinds of trouble considering I was ordering from the United States. Anyways, keep up the good work.
Really looking forward to the SGs, since I might actually be interested in getting one next years.
These are stunning guitars! I love this set design here too, it especially works when you're wearing black!
I think all of your guys' videos, demo's, and review's are awesome for the fact that they are just jam packed with information, while having a humorous twist😜 the only thing I think I could ask more of is more videos on lower budget guitars. I just think it would just be a nice transition from all of these high performance guitars. keep up the amazing video's!😁👌
NEVER STOP MAKING LONG VIDEOS THEYRE THE BESTEST
Kudos to the guy that edits these videos, so entertaining.
I love long videos. I love the depth of the reviews. I warm up while watching, doing scales when you talk and learning something new all the time following both of you play...and sometimes, like the accoustic one a couple weeks ago, or Catalyst, you play the best music around today. I don't have to agree with everything...I do have a little ''x' up in the corner!
And it costs me zero. How could I possibly thank you enough?
I love the heel joint, looks very smooth, absolutely want one
great work guys. They truely have hit this out of the park!!! I have an "AAAHHHH" Natural'67 deluxe and thought I'd never play anything better, but wow I like the new "standard" way better. Its the neck and the heel joint WOW. thanks.
thanks for the video lee and rob!
About time! I've been waiting for this for ages.i love all the tones. Keep them coming. It's all personal taste. My personal choice would be traditional spec with g force.
Finally. Been waiting for this for so long
ughhhh!!!! those Les Pauls are just orgasmic!! Gibson have really upped their game for the 2016 range :)
+Darryl Williams i commented before watching the video and i must say that i think this is another golden year for Gibson in my opinion, i must now sell my car and possessions to invest in one of these 2016 Les Pauls
+Darryl Williams And finally they listen to the people and dont put the electronic tuner no matter what, 1 point gibson!
+Darryl Williams Their 2015's were soo horrendous they could of just released a regular studio line and it would have been an improved. Heck, anything's an improvement over last years junk.
Dan D last year was so bad for Gibson i think they must have spent most of their budget on the Custom shops and Historic Reissues. I played a 2015 standard last year and i was really not impressed, i was more impressed with this gorgeous 57 reissue epiphone les paul gold top which i later ended up buying and i saved some money which is always a bonus :)
Darryl Williams I got a 2016 Les Paul Standard T in Iced Tea Burst and it is awesome.
Hats off to Gibson, all these little changes are the reason I wasn't 100% sold on the 2015 range, but this range seems near perfect. Once I see the traditional video, I don't think there will be much stopping me from coming down to Andertons and purchasing one!
Great looking and sounding guitars! The new 2016 Lespauls are looking really sick! Can't wait to play one 😀👍👍
Very nice stuff. I'm glad they still are including the auto tuning on the headstock.
The aluminum caravan you mentioned in comparison to the case is called an Airstream...
Thank you!!! That was pissing me off so much I couldn't remember the name haha.
No worries. Glad to help!
+1dabirdman
Aluminium*
Because someone has to ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
+Tom Meakin "aluminum" isn't wrong, aluminium is more commonly used but both is correct
+HenkBenk88 Yeah, but "both is" in that sentence is way incorrect.
WOW that one Rob has is absolutely gorgeous.
Excellent stuff guys well done and thanks
I look forward to these videos every year now xD
The flame on Rob's guitar is amazing!
Got the LP Standard 2016. Love it. Playing through a fender bassbreaker 15 British Green combo with the greenback speaker. About as good as it gets. Thanks for the video.
Great demo! Thank you
Geeze! These things are beautiful!
Don't ever stop making the long videos! I wake up here in the US and the first thing I check is robs channel, andertons', and rabea's. I consistently invoke the wrath of my spouse by going over our data plan watching your videos on my lunch hour.
Thanks so much for all you do!
Anyone else really enjoy the longer videos? Keep it goin!
I just love, the way Rob cannot sit still and is always fidgeting. We all have this friend who is always coiled and ready to spring and suggest something crazy.
Rob always reminds me of "that guy".
The captains lead picking at 25 is quite nice. Great tone from the guitar and some tasty bends!
I have a 2013 with a 60's profile neck and now the 2016 with the new compound radius.
I LOVE that new 2016 neck! Its amazing such a small difference makes playing so comfy.
I love the switching options as a player of different types of music I can nail many different tones than the typical Les Paul Traditional can. I honestly like my 2016 standard better than a 59 reissue Custom shop.
You guys are f'n hilarious and so full of great info. Love your videos. Keep 'em comin'.
I am a huge fan. But you guys are killing me with this room.
??
I love the long videos!
Doing great guys!
Great vid guys,
Just got my 2016 Standard Trad spec through Andertons, great being able to choose a certain serial number as I didn't want a REALLY flamey top. Must correct Lee though, the Trad spec standard DOES come with a pickguard, just not fitted!
new camera, picture looks sick specially on the guitars!
Am absolutely loving that one that chappers is playing 👍
I'm so happy to hear this. I just send back my sg special I just bought a while back last week because I just couldn't fall in love with it. It was a great guitar but the neck didn't have the Gibson feel my older les Paul has. I loved the tuner because of the convenience but I hated the weight it had and made the guitar feel unbalanced to me. When I play I don't want to have to think about it knocking in to stuff when I'm sitting down or that I have to hold the neck up. Small issues I know but when you pay good money for a guitar you better love it or it's not really your guitar. Now there is a Gibson for everybody, because I bet the things I love about traditional Gibson there is some other person that hates those things about them.
As an owner of an SG, Les Paul and and LP Special DC, I am super hyped about the new 2016 Firebird for another voice. I would LOVE to see a demo of one of those puppies!
love the long videos
I could watch/listen to Rob Chapman play guitar all day long! Another great video gents.
The guitar Rob is playing at certain angles is absolutely stunning
you really nailed that peter green tone! love it :D
I'd kill for an opportunity to jam with these guys! You're my UA-cam heroes!!
Great vid 👌🏻
thanks for this review mates!
Love your shirt Chappers!
The way I look at those auto-tuning thingymajigs, is that they're basically a locking nut, without the faff of alan keys. They're a great tool, to make life easier. Also, that nut is crazy cool, for the first time in my 9 years of playing, I'm now tempted by a Gibson!
this is my fav guitar i just hope that ill play it someday
When will do the 2016 Tred vid. Love to see a review before buying. ThanksYou guys ROCK!
you guys are great the way you explain all these things about different guitars, but I wish you would just touch on what strings are fitted.
Nono Rob. I'd actually like you to keep making long videos. Don't stop the rock!
Crud, now I'm starting to think my 2011 LP studio needs a little brother... These new Gibsons look fantastic!!
I love the long videos
You make me want one of those high spec LP's. If only I could afford one...
Awesome!!! Another entertaining vid boys. But now I want ANOTHER guitar!!!!
Hey guys, I love your videos. Could you do a guide to amplifiers where you explain the differences between different types of amplifiers and what they're good for? Thanks!
Just bought a Standard from you yesterday as a Christmas present to myself. It was a traditional, I had no idea there was a high performance model. I know what my next purchase will be.
Been waiting for this so long, I've just been watching last year's instead... hahaha
I haven't played a Les in years. Makes me want to go play one.
I would so get the one rob was jamming on it looked and sounded so baller
Yay I got a les Paul for Xmas 🙌🏻🙌🏻
What's not to like...love this review and love these new Les Pauls. Gibson sooo got it right for 2016....as the great man said...ALRIGHT!!!!!!! Thanks you guys :))
love the tesseract shirt!
Another great video :D On a slightly unrelated note, I really wish i could get an ML3 modern or better still the Rabea sig, but sadly i'm a leftie, and we can never get the models we want.... Huge fan of chapman guitars though! Look and sound amazing, at least on youtube!
Keep making long videoooss brooos!
look really nice, im gonna buy one
You look godly in your tesseract T good SAH!!
great guitrs!!!
nice vedio i loved it
Amazing Tesseract T shirt! They rock
It is nice to see that Gibson at least in my opinion seems to be hearing their costumers. Some people don't like the "new fancy" stuff on the guitars, so they made a tradicional line in order to respect the classic specs. Other people don't like some things about the tradicional specs, like the weight of the Les Paul and the neck heel, so they made also a modern improved line named high performance. I think it is a good way to respect tradicion and at the same time to keep making developments and put it in our hands.
Some people complain about the robo tuners, but I have a 2015 SG with them, and just to be able to get lots of different tunings with just one guitar is simply great, specially if you're playing gigs, etc... And it works pretty well.
Les Paul's never used to be my cup of tea because of the weight and feel of them but I've got to say these 2016 model's look and sound absolutely brilliant.
I loved the wider fretboards on the 2015s...
much nicer demo room you got there!
finally more access to the higher notes!!!
I absolutely loved the wider fingerboard of my 2013 model. After buying a narrower 2020 Standard, i realized how much more I prefer the wider board.
Fuck yes lee, you go man!!!! Loving those licks
I loved the 2015 range. got a Junior and a classic and think they are great. think the wider neck just sits well with me.
Epiphone had the access neck joint like this on the Matt Heafy Signature Les Paul since 2013, if you'd like to check them out. An essential innovation to a LP, and the most reasonable too, I think. Glad to see Gibson took the Idea and put it on a "standard" production model.
I'm not a big fan of les pauls but there's something very interesting about the one Rob is holding. Could be the video editing but i'm really into that guitar.
Something for everyone...That's a good thing.
+Jeriah Senpai I'm making a statement not a question at the end of my comment hence no question mark. I'm all positive for the 2016 range so far 👍🎸

Got the airstream reference right away.
AWESOME ! you guys are truly the best, i love gibson but i decided to buy the oiled ash american strat from the 10'15 limited program from fender! gibson are too expensive sadly :( if it wasnt so damn expensive i would have consider having a gibson lp instead of my strat.
Damn you!
I just got a new guitar and cannot afford buying one of these beauties too.
But I want one so much!
whoever edits these needs a raise.
My 2012 Standard is flawless in finish, binding, fret work.
Its finally here! YEEEEEEEES! \m/
I've looked over Gibson's 2016, and based on what I've seen online I'm actually super impressed with them. I love how they brought the Explorer back (and the HP has me wanting to sell my 2005 Exp for one) and V and I'm amazed that they finally got sensible with their pricing! The explorer standard was 1400 new a couple years ago, they dropped it by 100 bucks, which is a lot when you think about it.
Next step? Remember when the LP Jr was a cheaper guitar instead of a 1400 dollar piece? I want a cheaper LP jr in traditional and HP specs with the T version being in the Melody Maker-Faded price range. It isn't that hard.
i love your videos :)
The handle on that titanium case looks like a hot dog. Oh and please please please do a video on the T vs. HP 2016 Firebird as well!
YES FINALLY!!
Hey guys, another great video. Keep up the good work !! I have a request: could you review some of the less common PRS models like 408, P24/22, 513, etc. vs a standard Custom 24.I'm in the market for a PRS but I can't make up my mind on which one to get and there really aren't many good comparison vids out there :p
Keep doing the long videos!
I'll bet the 2015 models will become serious collector's items in 5 or 10 years based on their unique, short lived run. Plus, they were actually really nice, just different.
