    I believe this story because I worked for two brothers who were like this. Not physically imposing by any means but just extremely aggressive when they weren’t getting their way. They owned a construction company and would always be damn near fist fighting the other trades over stuff. Yelling at the builder and supervisor. Threatening people. It blew my mind to be around Guys like that because you realize that it actually works. Having some teeth will help you get things you want and nobody really hated them they just knew not to mess with them

    • @bobon123
      @bobon123 2 роки тому +28

      It does not actually work. It sometimes work, and it depends on the environment. In few environments, and surely construction work is one of those, it can surely work. You can get the best sandwich, or you can get the easiest job assigned, or you can get a better shift. If these are the kind of objectives you have in life, it actually works.
      But the story also teaches us that the father made time in prison in the past, and there was a 50-50 probability that he would go back again in this case. This does not lead to actual long term achievement.
      To teach your kid to threaten someone instead of accepting your mistake and take responsibility for it leads to low achievements. You might be the alpha dog, but you will still be a dog.
      Real long term achievement is obtained with self control.

But ya already painted a picture of dumb belligerence, that’s the problem, if the guy tackles or shoots you too it doesn’t mean that it’s okay. I know what you probably meant, back it up as in they’re real about it, i.e. something like Chris’s dad. But your semantics, like a math equation, = problem is someone can’t back up threats.
