Once I got down I had just about time to turn around and see both of them starting to go down it, standing up. Mind you only one of them had (very little) experience with foot breaking while the other started riding like two-three days ago. The one who had a little experience in foot to breaking over did it and fucked up his foot for a while while the other went head first into long grass at the side of the road. Neither one broke anything or got any permanent damages by sheer luck. No helmets or protective gear on any of us. Nowadays I keep to eboarding instead, breaks are invaluable hah~

I thought I "had it down" when I did a hanging flip off a horizontal bar. I made sure my head cleared the ground, and did some slow spins around the bar and thought it was fine. This video was fun and enjoyable. I found myself smiling while watching. I really miss Mythbusters and often rewatch the episodes. Really hoping for a few crew reunion shows someday.
One of the reasons I love the Mythbusters. Is they found a crazy video clearly made with VFX and found a way to make the crazy thing, in the crazy video IRL.
That is an awesome story. Cool insight. Heartwarming inspiration. The "and they did it anyway" all awesome. When Adam gets "sidetracked" it is almost always because he went and answered a question we didn't know to ask or told a story we didn't even know we wanted to hear.
Was I the only one who had flashbacks to Tim Conway’s old man sketches on the Carol Burnett Show when he was describing how slow the rescue boat was with the trolling motor? No? Just me then? (quietly sits back down in the corner and tries to blend in to the background).
As a current man child if I had a 100 foot water slide, was told I couldn't go down it because of safety concerns, I would take that as a challenge to prove it unsafe.
Ha! I literally just answered my front door because of this video. Thought my Ring was malfunctioning when I found no one there and nothing on the camera feed. 😆
Adam, it sounds like by hitting the water hard the second day you might have gotten a concussion, hence the headache. Don’t beat yourself up for having a bad day after that… a big symptom of early concussion is anger and frustration. Love you
Reminds me of the time I was president of our baseball club. During the yearly member's meeting, someone asked if they could just do some practice stuff on a random field in a park on days where there was no training (we didn't have an actual baseball field in our city, we played our matches in a neighbouring city). I've had to repeatedly state quite clearly that "As a club we are liable for any and all damages that result from training. On the grounds that we rent for training, we have insurance for those damages. As the board, we cannot sanction any training outside the grounds that we're renting for training and/or outside the set training hours, but that we had no say in what individuals chose to do in their spare time". It actually took them a while for some of them to realise that what I was saying "Knock yourself out, but I cannot give you permission as president of the club, cause then if you hit someone with a baseball, the club could go bankrupt."
My nephew once found an Easter egg in the back yard that was at least 2 years old. I told him to put the egg in one of the outside garbage cans and I told him to make sure he did not break the egg. I knew what would happen, so when he came back and said, "I wish I had listened to you." I just said, "Well, now you know."

@@Plasticjesus504 those wobbles is what made me slow down but my foot caught in the pavement and that pressure was immense, I could not lift my leg off my board and did the splits till something gave out and that was my femur.
It's amazing how much a perfect pep talk can change things!
You may have gone on a tangent but don't worry. We'll let it... slide.
Well done!
How did I not know Adam had a channel? Instantly subbed. I grew up with this man, saw every episode of mythbusters. Learned a crazy amount from you guys over the years.
4:38 My 59 years worth of experiences definitely confirms that, "No, you DON'T have this down!"
Same here.
I thought I "had it down" when I did a hanging flip off a horizontal bar. I made sure my head cleared the ground, and did some slow spins around the bar and thought it was fine. Doing it for real, I released my legs and they drove right into the ground and I snapped my femur just below my hip. I taught my niece and nephew a good lesson that day.
That was a great story, would have totally written on that slide as well! I love how some of these questions that get awnsered get sidetrack and usually the story is well worth it.
Adam: I've got this down.
Reality: Hold my beer.
Adam tempting the crew like a little devil on the shoulder: don't go down that water slide!
The water slide episode was always my favorite. It looked so fun.
2:36 "No one would do this for real just to hope it works. At least that's my impression."
Oh Adam, simply adorable.
Adam - you're a great story teller! Totally enjoyed that! 😊
And... no, if I was in the crew, there's no way I'd have missed the chance to go on that slide either. 😁
MB: Do NOT go down the slide!
Crew: Gotcha... _(wink)_
MB: You're gonna go down the slide aren't you.
Crew: Nooooooo... _(nodding yes)_
Jamie and Adam were the modern Abbot and Costello. A complimentary pair that we may not see the likes of again for decades….
Wow. First time caller, LONG time listener. Shout out to 2002, I remember WAITING to watch Mythbusters on Discovery, in Canada, on a 3.5m dish. Adam, you look GREAT! Keep it up, you now preach to my children; inspiring two generations of science nerds is your mantle now, although we take so warmly to Kyle as well, having watched him grow from Nerdist. I remember that particular episode, the decor of my parent's basement. Such great memories.
The mystery of the anonymous nature of the internet is that it breeds such an awkward, unilateral familiarity. You don't know us, but we would recognize you anywhere. Bless you, Bless your work, Bless your life. Thank you for your positive contribution to ours.

My favorite part of these stories is even the story it's how much joy adam seems to get when recalling them.
You're a national treasure, Adam. Right up there with Mr. Wizard and MacGyver, and that is the highest praise I can give anyone.
This video was fun and enjoyable. I found myself smiling while watching. I really miss Mythbusters and often rewatch the episodes. Really hoping for a few crew reunion shows someday.
Adam:" dont go down the slide." Crew: " how bout we do anyway"
Adam has so many great Mythbusters stories! Looks like a bunch of TiVo's behind him lol
One of the reasons I love the Mythbusters. Is they found a crazy video clearly made with VFX and found a way to make the crazy thing, in the crazy video IRL.
That is one of the funniest, most inspiring stories I've heard Adam tell...
That is an awesome story. Cool insight. Heartwarming inspiration. The "and they did it anyway" all awesome. When Adam gets "sidetracked" it is almost always because he went and answered a question we didn't know to ask or told a story we didn't even know we wanted to hear.
still would be better than a normal office job...
I enjoyed the sidetrack conversation while you explained to us the important thing you remembered about that day.
Thanks, Adam.
"I'm not going to -kill- allow you, but I'm not going to -save- stop you either" - Batman also -not- supports huge waterslides
I don't get lost in stories often, but I got lost in your story about the california surfer 3rd gen stuntman guy. What a heartwarming share with us ♥
Was I the only one who had flashbacks to Tim Conway’s old man sketches on the Carol Burnett Show when he was describing how slow the rescue boat was with the trolling motor? No? Just me then? (quietly sits back down in the corner and tries to blend in to the background).
I loved that show, Carol, Tim, Harvey and the rest were hilarious, physical slap-stick style comedy.
I had not made the connection, but now that you mention it, yes I do see it.
'Oldest man in the world' moving across the screen. YES!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA
“No one would do this for real to hope it works….” Lmao
As a current man child if I had a 100 foot water slide, was told I couldn't go down it because of safety concerns, I would take that as a challenge to prove it unsafe.
Ha! I literally just answered my front door because of this video. Thought my Ring was malfunctioning when I found no one there and nothing on the camera feed. 😆
“Off the rail” stories are my favorite stories
Adam, it sounds like by hitting the water hard the second day you might have gotten a concussion, hence the headache. Don’t beat yourself up for having a bad day after that… a big symptom of early concussion is anger and frustration. Love you
Totally want to see the footage of the superman-style run
Love Jamie's ghost in the background!
That water slide would definitely have been fun especially if the water was actually warm.
That was my favorite episode “WOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH….(SPLASH)”
Adam, we love it when you go "off the rails". You can drive that train anywhere you like, we're coming along no matter what.
“Of course, they all did it” Well duh!
Video's like this just keep adding to the fantastic legacy you guys have with Myth Busters.
Is this the one where the roll of duct tape ends up rolling down the slide and ends up in the water?
Yup.
@@matthewhall6288 thought so lol
With perfect form
My nephew once found an Easter egg in the back yard that was at least 2 years old. I told him to put the egg in one of the outside garbage cans and I told him to make sure he did not break the egg.
I knew what would happen, so when he came back and said, "I wish I had listened to you." I just said, "Well, now you know."
"Ok waterslide, I'm just gonna do THIS (does superman pose) and if you get slid on, it's your own fault!"
HAHAHA, Bart simpson?
@@cloudsteele1989 Lol, yea, Bart and Homer. I can just imagine Adam going up to the crew and being all like "Now crew, don't you go down this waterslide!"
That crew DVD needs to see the light of day.
