- Each year we partner with a local farmer whom grows Hairy Vetch for seed. This year we tried a new field in a new location. Right smack in the middle of cattle country with over manicured pastures for grazing (absent of any honey bee forage). We have to feed these the bees pollen sub while on location, but the yield is worth it for us. We operate in a part of the country with little rain and high heat. Any honey we make has to be fast. Most yards make very little, so this is always an exciting event for us.
We are still growing and honey production has not been our focus. With that said we are not ready to invest in an extracting facility of our own yet. Maybe when I know what our eventual needs are i will build one. For now we outsource our extraction. We lean on our friends John and Skip Talbert over at Sabine Creek Honey in Josephine, Texas. They are good friends that have taught me so much on this whirlwind journey we find ourselves on here at HBU.
If you guys need any extraction in north Texas please go see Sabine Creek Honey Farm. They are in Josephine, TX. www.sabinecreekhoney.com/ - 214-532-9241
I challenged y'all to guess the poundage in the comments. I'll give you a hint. Its more than 2 tons and less than 3. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
Good for you. Nice.
Many Thanks. Gary
Wow thats a shit ton of honey, or should i say nearly 2½ tons of honey to be precise. Well-done on such a good honey yield from your girls this year. 🐝 🍯
Thank you and thanks for watching
Nice job!!!
Thanks! Past President! Congrats on your new well deserved title. Always President to us though.
BeeGo: sitting at Christmas dinner and smell Bee Go on my fingers, thinking to myself, am I the only one who smells this … lol
It’s been a long time since I used that shit!
I can't find anything else that comes close. Spilt some in my truck last spring. Had to pick up our keynote speaker for a Texas BA event and drive hime for an hour and a half. I was so scared, luckily he was actually a hands on PhD and not just academic. We laughed and had a great drive both with watery eyes.
Thanks for watching, I've always admired your approach, honesty. Wish we had a flow like yours, but we have other ways to make a dime off them down here.
LOL
Awesome video brother. Keep up the great work.
Thanks! Will do!
Use less B-Go - all the bees shouldn't be vacating the hive.
Why not? Do you want to take them with you, they all rerun when you swap the lid back. What is your reasoning? I hate bees in the honey house. What am I missing? Thanks for watching. Gary
