Durant la nuit du 10 au 11 mai, une tempête magnétique d'une force inégalée depuis plus de 20 ans touche la terre et provoque des aurores partout autour du globe. Des observations sont faites dans le sud de la France, au nord et au sud de l'Afrique. Des pays ont même eu leur première observation d'aurores de l'histoire !!
Nous étions positionnés au Lac Jacques-Cartier, situé à une heure au nord de Québec. Un endroit sans pollution lumineuse, parfait pour notre observation. La tempête était tellement puissante que les aurores étaient partout, du nord au sud ! J'espère que la vidéo retransmettra bien ce que nous avons pu vivre et voir, et qui sait, peut être une nouvelle grosse tempête bientôt ?!?

During the night of May 10-11, a magnetic storm of unprecedented strength for more than 20 years hit the Earth, producing auroras around the globe. Observations were made in southern France, and in northern and southern Africa. Some countries have even had their first aurora sighting in history !
We were positioned at Lac Jacques-Cartier, an hour north of Quebec City. A spot free of light pollution, perfect for our observation. The storm was so powerful that the auroras were everywhere, from north to south ! I hope the video captures what we saw and experienced, and who knows, maybe another big storm soon !
