I can't really speak to the 2012 engine as I don't have one or never drove one. My only comparison would be in a technical term. A naturally aspirated engine is going to be more reliable long term than a forced induction one, especially a twin turbo. I've read that BMW sort of over complicated the TT V8 with their engineering of it. I terms of fun, the new one is probably amazing, but in terms of reliability, I'd say the 2008 one is the winner. Again I've never experienced the new one so this is just my high level opinion
Would you recommend this beauty as a first car? I'd take good care of it to the best of my ability, but I am definitely not too educated on BMW engines.
What salvage guy said but as long as you got a Carly and you know where things are in the engine bay (and if you got some tools), the cost maintainence with gradually drop. And also, you don’t have to use oem. Buy reliable parts that come with a warranty so you don’t have to come out of pocket. Preventative steps are the key to keeping any car on the road
A lot of the stuff is really easy to do yourself, but yes if you plan on taking it to a mechanic to fix each time it will be a lot. Overall the car is pretty reliable. The engine and trans are solid which are the biggest components.
Despite The engine valve issues, I love 💕 bmw ! My fast was 03’ 330 and upgraded to 08 650; and sold it and got a s550 in 2016..... to date I still miss my first love
Hey guys! I hope you enjoy this new concept on the channel! Get honest reviews from real owners! ENJOY!
Thank you
One of the sexiest coupe of all times
It really is. Not very saught after sadly tho
Man i love this freaking car
This should have more views, thanks great video bro🙏
Thanks so much! Hoping it starts to hit main stream one day
I do love a 650. Lovely colour too
How is with space on back seats is it komfor for long driving i ask cose i want to bay but i have 2 kids will be komfort for long trips
Seats are very comfortable but there isn't much room. Interior is about the same size as the 3 series. Front seats need to move up
@@DIYSalvageGuy thanks
Hi well I have a question , is the motor in this one better than the new one from 2012 ?? Good review thanks

@@DIYSalvageGuy Thanks pal !!
Thank you! I was looking for this opinion, regarding the new ones vs the old ones. The straight six is the sweetest
Hi bro I really appreciate your work.
You should review some modern model of cars eg: Toyota supra, Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Audi, Bentley... Etc
Thanks for the feedback! This is just the first of many
Great 👌😊👋
Run flats are NOT good for AWD vehicles either
They stink for everything!
Nice video!!!
Thanks! Happy you enjoyed it!
Review starts around 4 minute mark

Car is solid, but super expensive to fix if you don't do it yourself.

great concept to bring more content! love the car
Sounds like a money pit if your not a mechanic

OMG your intro is sooo freaking loooong! Took over 3 minutes before you even started talking about the car!
Thanks for the feedback. I'll cut down on that in the future.
Lmao

They had fixed the valve issues by this year. Bmw makes some nice cars. I'll be getting another one day for sure.
@@DIYSalvageGuy bought my e64 LCI vert new. Love it so much that it has
The valve problem with the n62 was never fixed, at least not in germany
All suffer, 45i and 50i
👍👍👍keep them videos running
New videos every week!
There’s a 2008 650i that I’m going to look at today with 155 thousand miles. What should I look for?
Coolant pipe leaks are the biggest issue with these, other than that, it's a solid car
@@DIYSalvageGuywhat about the n62 motor
Good video
Thank you! I'll have more like it out soon.
man, you spent 5 minutes filming the engine, dont do it.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll try to avoid that in the future.
@@DIYSalvageGuy you're one of the people I've seen accept criticism on UA-cam content, that's good dude!
Way too much talking. UA-camrs never know how to get to the fucking points lol
Enjoy the process my man. UA-cam is an art.
I disagree. I am looking to buy this car and his verbiage was very helpful
