I love the idea of modular helmets but having survived an accident last year where I went face first into the asphalt, I’m a little sketched out now if the latching system were to fail. Regardless, I’d be dead right now I weren’t wearing a full face, so anyone considering anything else, I urge you to always wear full face only.
After running the Outlaw Bandit for the Milwaukee summer trip I had zero complaints. The only extra I was running was some ear plugs from Amazon to help combat the thunderheader and wind.
Just want to point out @7:25 when talking about ECE vs SNELL that you got them confused. SNELL is a more rigorous test than ECE. ECE is a European standard that must be met for road use in Europe much like DOT is here. SNELL tests to higher impact and specifically searches for weak points as it is essentially a requirement to ride on track in the US. This is why you will not find any SNELL helmets with internal visors and the like they cannot pass the test with the reduced forehead protection.
I have a ghost rn. I want a mod bandit but idk how it'd be as a motovlog setup. Maybe 1 for motovlogging and 1 for longer rides with an insta 360 ors something?
@@FXDLSBrooklyn yea everyone i know with mod had go down in size i went down in size and got the plus 5mm pads when the original started to loose its form and it feels way better.
Definitely the mod bandit, ventilation is huge!! never wore a mod but see some definite advantages , I'm running a Rurok liquid carbon, comfortable but quality is lacking in some areas and also expensive, Simson is an option for the next helmet
Im 59cm and got a large like i normally do. The shell for a large is freaking huge on the mod bandit it’s for a 2xl and for $500+ i can’t believe they can’t make a middle size shell. I’m debating exchanging it for a medium but it says up to 58 cm so idk
I just cant wear these Darth Vader Full Face Helmets...I used to wear the Old School style Full Face Bell and Shoei....I know that Biltwell makes that style for a cheap price....But ive grown to love the 3/4 style either with or without a clear shield....I always wear my Raybans under it....

I do wonder what testing has been done in that regard, I have had people write in though and say it did its job when put to to the test
DOT and Snell testing is solid
@@berealz9701DOT no, snell and ECE yes
got home early from work ( was sent home XD) time to enjoy a couple pizza slices while watching then head out to Friday Night Magic

Where could I try it on BEFORE buying it?
Around these parts I would have said RevZilla BK, but this no longer exists
Does the mod bandit loosen up on your jaw? I’ve always struggled with modular helmets being tight on my jaw.
Nah nothing like that
I love my carbon fiber mod bandit. Lighter than my shoei neotec 2 but the tinted chrome visor is too dark even in full summer sunlight.
Really? I run the gold mirror visor haven't had any issues like that

It’s actually really good for motovlogging, if it’s helpful I can do a video on set up
@@FXDLSBrooklyn That'd be sweet. Thanks man!
What about the speed bandit?
Simpson mod for me. I switch from the mod and shoei rf1400. Mod bandit i had go down to small but fits me great.
Dude literally same thing with me

Definitely worth checking out - I have zero experience with Rurok, but the Mod bandit has been pretty solid for me!
@@FXDLSBrooklyn They look great
I rock Simpson and AGVs... Simpsons old air flow sucked ass back in the day but I love how they kept the "Predator" look of the visor
Truth - I don't have much experience with AGV but have a few friends that rock them
Any fxdx content coming?
You read my mind
Bell SRT MOD 🔥🤟🏻
Any good?

Problem with that is you got no protection for your face
@@FXDLSBrooklyn Yes from impact yes but with a Shield it protects just as good as a Full Face like Weather...Dirt and Dust and Bugs...
I own the modular simpson. It looks great, but feels cheap and very noisy.
it's a helmet man take it off when you need to it takes less than a second you don't need a weak point on something meant to save your life
Someone else said something like this, I'm not sure this actually true, do you have a source for test data?
Simpson Ghost. Better than both. The mod will separate upon impact.
Is that actually true though?
@@FXDLSBrooklyn yes. I’ve seen it first hand
@@OnePercenterBBNCBC care to elaborate?
@@5h09-3 rider went down. Whole front of the helmet came apart
They are loud and of low quality, for sure. There is tons of better helmets out there
