The Kodiak without the pod is in my opinion one of the best looking aircraft available in the sim.
Watched this last night in bed on the tele. Came on the PC to comment today. Wonderful flight. Entertaining commentary. Beautiful scenery. I got the Kodiak on the Chrissy sale, this is going to be my first flight after work today in VR. Have a sub and a wonderful 2023.

Quantas used to have a B747 Combi like this with about half of the rear main deck being for containerised freight. I did deadload weight statements for a few flights, enjoyable to do , back in early 90s or late 1980s…..Laurie. NZ. ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉

Beautiful landscape, cool plane, amazing video :) What a delight when at the last second the runway appeared! December is going to be great, with the Kodiak, SC Design F-16 and RSP H125 helicopter all coming out soon hopefully.

i literally did a lord of the rings journey in this game a while ago . Theres a little airstrip a bit north from Queenstown called NZPL and this is the place where the castle of Rohan was built ! you can see the mountains in the background just like in the movie scene

The lower FPS is due to the Standby Attitude Indicator. Pull the Circuit Breaker for it and you will win back your missing FPS. SWS is aware of this but the solution needs to come from Asobo. I am flying the wonderful Kodiak with pulled Cb for now.
Thanks. I had heard this. I will be flying it in VR, so every frame counts lol. Hope i can figure out which circuit breaker!

Maybe your best video yet (IMHO). NZ is beautiful in MSFS, you chose the perfect airplane in the Kodiak, and the best part of all, the honest and terrific personality you bring to all your videos.
The Kodiak added a lot to this video. Perhaps, at least in my case, the thanks for that goes to the highly regarded missionary pilot in PNG. I am looking forward to the release of this airplane.
As to the scenery, understand I have no association with this company, but the ORBX NZ mesh does a good job of reducing the rounding of mountain ridges and enhancing the definition of the graphics. Recommended.

2145. Nope door wont open due wind force. I used to fly a C172 in real life whose door would pop open in flight but only a crack due airflow…it did it when I was taking my parents on a local scenic flight around Auckland NZ. Laurie NZ. 😊😊😊😊

Running MSFS on Xbox and am loving it soooooo much. However, it seems Microsoft makes it very difficult and long winded for aircraft developers to port their aircraft onto the marketplace. So many amazing planes I can’t get my hands on. Anyhooooooooo, love your channel. Cheers.
About to buy all the gear to run on xbox how is it ? Do you use keyboard mouse and joystick?

Thankyou for the videos I really like them all. I wondered though if you might try out some helicopters? It's taken me ages to get any kind of proficiency flying the H145 from HPG but it's a great feeling when you start to get the hang of it and I don't think there is a better way to enjoy what MSFS offers.

Nice to see you do a test flight in NZ this time! I’m one of the pilots from the SWS beta testing team and just wanted to advise that as per the Kodiak POH, moving the power lever below flight idle into beta range is strictly prohibited in flight! This would lead to an engine over speed followed by a loss of power- best to stick with the Pilatus for that kind of high jinx!

@@AvAngel definitely prohibited haha. But suppose you can do whatever you like in the sim! Also as a local, I have to point out that the filming location of Isengard was very nearly in your video, if you’d carried on to the head of the lake instead of turning left at around the 15 minute mark, you would have overflown it!
@@AvAngel Rachel Please don't feel you need to reply to this request...Last week I suggested to Huddison who has his own You Tube channel That Mark from Sim Hanger, himself and you do a Christmas Charity flight....You guys are the three people I watch without fail.. I suggested a bush type flight round Scotland set on a snowy Christmas morning and we as simmers are delivering parcels to some remote villages to the Children that Santa could not get to due to the storm a few hours before. I think Huddison is trying to pick a International Children's Charity.. I wonder if you would consider being a guest and or promoting it on your channel, even getting the guys from Simworks to donate a Kodiak as they will do very well thanks to your excellent video.? I don't know which day Huddison is doing the flight but we hope to get as many simmers as possible and make a small donation to a charity... Thank you to all three of you as great producers of quality productions. al

I am using the altitude knob and can’t get my altitude knob to increase my altitude in ft like going to 7000 or whatever is there something you need to do to get that set?
OMG !!! You'd gone full flaps and were about to drop out of the sky and I still couldn't figure out where on gods green earth you were trying to land. Then you went round a corner of the hill and were immediately over the threshold. I have to try this, how on earth did you find this place ? Also I'm having trouble finding that approach into NZMF in Navigraph Charts, just sayin ... ;-)

im having a problem with the SWS quest kodiak. whenever i load in to any variant with the cargo pod the game crashes but whenever i load in any variant without the cargo pod it works fine. (i have re-installed it many times)

Late to the party ! Can i ask you how you interact with doors while in drone mode ? I'm on Xbox and i've a very good understanding on how to set my Xbox controller ( i've ton of keybindings on it :p ) but i can't find the right "key" on drone camera page to assign this type of action. Thanks ! ❤

I will, i'm just adjusting to it off camera... and trying to find a better way to get my audio in with my head turning now... problem with it for videos is keeping your mouth pointed at the mic... or... nobody can hear you :D All wonderful for personal flying, but tough for otherwise.
AvA, one solution for audio would be to use a boom mic headset, that way the mic follows your head movements and is a consistent volume.
The world of aviation would be so much better if everyone just referred to aircraft as "bad boys."
What do you have your refresh rate for glass instruments set to?

Fargin SWS should have released this by now. This is ridiculous. Lol
It's still being fixed from SU7, give them time to release a perfect plane, not a half baked one.
The wait is worth it, as one of the test pilots, the latest flight config update made the airplane feel more like the real one. The SWS folks are putting a lot of hard work into this to make the purchaser a happy sim pilot.

I have read that if you’re performance is less than normal, shut off that back up screen on the far left. It’s a pig.
