Why dont you look at the alternative, If Iran did not back the government and had the rebels won, can these guys assure us that the Christians, The Alawaites and the Druze would not be massacred and taken into slavery just like the Yazidies were in Iraq? I am sorry Al Jazeera the alternative would have been the nightmare for the Syrians, there is no comparison.
kamran kam I actually ask myself the same question. realistically, what would happen if the rebels win? who would lead Syria? how much influence would Saudi have?
Genocide? That is as yet to be determined, Also what % of the killings do you hold the so called rebels responsible for? Have you thought why so much effort ( external) has gone into this project? The logistics, The training, the financing, the diplomatic effort, the weapons and jihadis poring in? Do you not hold the west and it's friends responsible for this Genocide? The CIA, British and French intel, Turkey, S Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, have you even thought why this huge effort for Syria? Really??
We as spectators need to think more justly keeping our biases aside. Why do we always have to make it a zero sum game by always invoking the incidents of injustice and brutality by others when our own wrongdoings are being questioned. Do we ever excuse children when they argue in this manner? Saudi, Iran and all the powers involved in the region are not concerned about the people; they are only concerned about their proxy wars and 1 uping against their rival. Ultimate losers are common people and when people like us also get involved in this ugly game of "us vs them", I think that makes us also responsible, because ultimately these politicians play these ugly tricks to appease us, their vote-bank/supporters. Don't criticise Al-Jazeera or Mehdi because he questioned someone who you support this time. Instead appreciate his consistency and honesty because he questions all leaders in this exactly same manner confronting them with the most difficult questions.
I say potato, you say potato... "Freedom fighter" is a bullshit term and euphemism for terrorists; that's what Al Qaeda and Taliban terrorists were called in Afghanistan by Americans, "Mujahedin!" However, regardless of names whether"freedom fighter" or terrorist, the point is; what makes it Qatari government's business to support armed fighters in Syria?
See all Qaeda and Taliban is so much different than Syrian fighter, we are not taking about them. The fighter like Free Syrian army or many are the freedom fighter. Because took their arms because they suffered a lot, and you should know why they are fighting against Asad , do you know ? If you, you will get answer why Qatar funding Syrian opposition. In other hand I would ask you too what makes , Iran, Hezbollah and Russia to enter in Syrian ground ?
I am looking forward for the day when Al Jazeera does a program on women's rights in Saudi Arabia and funding of wahabism ,instead of pointing fingers about other countries culture and spreading their propaganda
Respect to this woman. A powerful woman, perfect for western propaganda. Sticks to her statement and doesn't fall for Mahdi putting words in her mouth LOL.
Ty Dalco Exactly thats my point. If you see John Kirby or Elizabeth Trudeau, they are master at avoiding straight questions. This woman just playing American strategy.
And the most important thing is that , the topic was about iran not about saudi. There are many videos about Saudi. You can go and wach that. I realise that problem is not with iran or saudi. More problem is with your type of people. When question is raised to saudi , your type of saudi supporter ask why don't you ask iran. Awful logic. First answer or take responsibility of what is asked to you and what you have done.. and then ask another... I mean there are two drug dealer. What iran has done in syria is completely independent from what saudi private people have done there .. Both are independent and both are punishable... and both of them have to take responsibility. . Both iran and saudi and their supporters play volleyball with questions . And truth is that bothnare ignorant arrogant and extremist. Because of saudi , people of yemen are suffering and because of iran people of syria are suffering and both the notions must be punished

Third of all assad announces to all civilians in the area to migrate/move, over a certain time to safety before the army Is sent in to capture the zone, sure thats not an excuse for the ones that remained in their homes to be killed and bombed. I never said it was okay. But I also never mentioned or know if the civilians that remain or miss the evacuation call are actually harmed (killed). Especially purposefully. So just like how this woman alludes to the analysis, as far as they are concerned from outside sources, it is complete bogus.
Jack Ryder sorry, im just making a statement that the territorial take over has had civilian casualties. I just watched the news today in aljazeer, and saw the deaths of civilians as a result of bombings in allepo. i dont think it was intentional however, my memory is vague on this part. furtheremore, the news stated that the civilians were given evacuation warnings, but they chose to stay because it's their home. also to which scum do you refer? this is just for the sake of clarity for me is all.

Iran-Saudi/GCC rivalry is bad for the Muslim world. Brothers should never fight brothers...EVER. Praying for sanity and peace in Syria and Middle East!!!! Stop the fighting, nobody wins.
Another Mesmerizing performance of Mahdi. What a responsible Man He is. Have never found him biased. Always searching for the truth. Lots Respect Mahdi.
She didn't have the least bit of courtesy of even acknowledging the responsibility of their intervention efforts. Even leaving aside the mass children casualties resulting from Syrian Air strikes, Iran has openly bullied afghan migrants to become cannon fodders on the front lines in Syria.
This is what I heard when the Iranian minister was talking: blah..blah..blah. She wasn't there to answer questions but instead to push the Iranian agenda. lol
Ty Dalco na I doubt that. Why would they make themselves look stupid like that especially on an interview from aljazeer. Its like saying I don't believe the sun comes up once a day... Its suicide.
Ty Dalco what sounds more realistic is that they are blind to it, because they *think* that the evacuation warnings given out for the Syrian people to move out thus allowing defending militants to be the only ones remaining is a good enough reason and justifies the legitimacy for the army to push in and retake the zone. Edit: if anything seeing what reports call "civilian casualties" a complete polar opposite of what Iran and Russia would call pure terrorists. Although they might have unintentionally, clearly bombed on top of a building with civilians present inside.
Jack Ryder Is it possible that they don't believe it? I'm not sure. I've encountered hundreds of Assadists when I was in Syria. The majority of them are very aware of the crimes of Assad. They are aware that the Russian and Pro-Assad media is just bullshit and lies. Yet, they convince themselves that it is true. "The UN is wrong. The West is always wrong. Dear Bashar and Russia are always right." On the other hand, I did meet a lot of people who *genuinely believe* that UN and independent media is merely spreading propaganda. However, those are mostly commoners and ill-educated Syrians. Those who are educated and hold positions in govt (for example, the muppet VP interviewed here) are aware of the truth. So, in conclusion, I personally believe that she knows what really is happening.
Slavoj Zizek says "the solution to this (refugee situation) is to emphasize on the clash within its civilization." that is true. but Zizek is also a biased fool.
The only reason Iran supports Syria is because Iranians never forget the Syria's support during Iran-Iraq war back in 80s. Syria also asked Iran for military help to fight US & Israel & Saudis backed terrorist forces like ISIL or Syrian freedom army. You scratch my back, I scratch yours kind of relationship!
That Iranian's fifth amendment defense is impressive. Iran is becoming America. Is funny how they all complain about the other side yet they do the same thing.
Last time im watching al jazeer... absurd! Iran supports the legitimate state of Syria wich are supported by its people of Syria. Best regards from Sweden.

Kurdistan … A version of past events where many nations have decided to agree on, has created some artificial borders to split apart our lands to the benefits of other nations in the region to grab our land, our culture, our history and enforce their way of life on us and terrorize our past history and origin to cut our roots. While there is no nation which is greater than any other, and geography could make us neighbors, history could make us friends, economics could make us partners and necessity could make us allies; but because of the feudalism, tribalism and totalitarianism what has been delivered to our generation are failures, frustrations and white genocides, that even made people of our own nation alien to each other. This host literally annoyed me. Some of those liberal journalists all look like they are the speaker of the justice and the most loyal supporter of the human rights.
Why didn't he ask anything regarding women protest in Iran and human rights violations of Iran. She is a disgrace woman who is oppressing women of Iran in the name of Islamic fundamentalism
I didn't read the book but that man has a point in the fact that if there are countries that are richer than Europe and closer, why do they come to Europe? another good point is the fact that this refugees don't know anything of the law in the country they are migrating to. me living among a town that is predominantly illegal aliens, I can attest to the fact that it is a problem, not only in the way they behave but also in the citizens abuse this ignorance for personal profit. Signing contracts in a language they don't understand is just the tip of the iceberg.
Mehdi please, you need to stop saying UN, cause we all know that UN means USA, UK and Western Allies.UN has condemn the israleli settlements and their genocide in palestine, yet nothing ever happens cause US and Western Allies never condemn Israel.
The people of Syria don't have the choice of getting together and making decisions on their own future so what is she talking about we know that's false
No parity in the UN, means a warped world moral compass. Put the UN right first, then talk about law and order. A UN without teeth and incumbent with a security council which refuses to eschew itself of the 5 permanent members with rights to veto its resolutions means that our world is run by five countries, that can rough shod all other 190-91 countries which of course includes Syria. It is a disgrace that all journalists and presenters, including this weasel Mehdi Hassan can pretend to ask serious questions regarding world affairs, when they know vey well that the world we live in has no law other than those laid down by those who pull the strings of the 5 countries in question. A great testament to humanity (NOT) that our civilisation is currently a jungle ruled by what is effectively a form of Mafia. Unchecked we ARE heading towards yet another World War. Tyranny of the beast has taken over, and the worse of it is we cannot blame the beast, its nature makes it what it is, no, it is your fault and my fault because to allow the wicked to have come this far and take over our planet, all we have had to do is nothing and to go on doing nothing. Today its the Middle East, could tomorrow be your homestead in the West? Stare at Syria, what is happening to it will one day very easily happen in Europe (Again). It is we and our children who are going to die in more and more numbers, compelled by non sensible rhetoric as it is spewed out by our politicians and our journalists to take up arms and kill when the pot has come to a boil. STOP THIS NOW, fix the compass, insist on international law and reform the UN and give it teeth so that it can get rid of the bully boys who profess to have all the answers but have none.
I dont really know why Aljazeera puts this guy to talk about this issues. His journalism style is pretty much like the guy who stands in a college boy's fight shouting "get him" to both contenders. No reasonable dialogues or inquisitive questions are asked, just mainstream bsing.
The question to ask for those that wish transparent capitalism and the rule of law under democracy is would any groups fighting there be able to bring economic and political conditions more just, than that which was there before the uprising? Many think that most of these groups would be even more repressive than the Assad government. ISIS would start to eliminate Christians and other Muslim groups. Most would be hostile to Western powers. I think that is why some think the best course of action is to allow Russia, Turkey, and Iran to fight it out and live with the continued Assad government which has lost much support with good reason.
That was a difficult video to watch, Madi talking to a robot (the vice-president of Iran) and an autor that disagree with his own book, he couldn't agree or explain properly his own quotes, this insane 😵😵😵!!!

She talks about Syrian people to decide but arms and funds Hezbollah and Afghan militias to crush the revolution.
Come on lady, Be honest, no moral, or ideological consciousness, made you help Asad, other than self intrest.... Just like many other nations....
because they are legal government

Mehdi please, you need to stop saying UN, cause we all know that UN means USA, UK and Western Allies.UN has condemn the israleli settlements and their genocide in palestine, yet nothing ever happens cause US and Western Allies never condemn Israel.

The people of Syria don't have the choice of getting together and making decisions on their own future so what is she talking about we know that's false
Iran supports Syria and gains access to the Mediterranean sea and Europe.
what is wrong with her , Syrians wants democracy , Asaad is dictatorship , she is talking about Yemen?
...how can u tell she's lying? Yup, her lips move.

Slavoj Zizek's got a weird way of pronouncing 's'.
The word "terrorist" are abused by every dog
No reasonable dialogues or inquisitive questions are asked, just mainstream bsing.
why she is not giving a direct answer
The question to ask for those that wish transparent capitalism and the rule of law under democracy is would any groups fighting there be able to bring economic and political conditions more just, than that which was there before the uprising? Many think that most of these groups would be even more repressive than the Assad government. ISIS would start to eliminate Christians and other Muslim groups. Most would be hostile to Western powers. I think that is why some think the best course of action is to allow Russia, Turkey, and Iran to fight it out and live with the continued Assad government which has lost much support with good reason.
This lady is screwed
That was a difficult video to watch, Madi talking to a robot (the vice-president of Iran) and an autor that disagree with his own book, he couldn't agree or explain properly his own quotes, this insane 😵😵😵!!!
what is wrong with those lights on that highrise in the background
Iran supports Azad just because he is a Shia Muslim
Good afternoon Mr Medhi ♥️🇮🇷🇸🇾🇵🇸🦾😇
What a worthless interview at the end. The reporter is not letting the guy he's interviewing finish even one sentence.

No More Shia Government in Syria and Iraq or elsewhere but Iran.
Oh yes and who determines that, you or the people of those countries?
If I don't determine - of-course which I don't because it was my opinion but why did you popup to represent them, dear!
The Shia majority countries are:
Iran
Azerbaijan
Iraq
Bahrain
over 40% of the population in Yemen
in Lebanon. Shias constitute 36.3% of the population
30%-35% of the citizen population in Kuwait
