- This is a reaction video to Linda Ronstadt and The Eagles performing "Desperado" live on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert in 1974. Don Henley and Glenn Frey wrote the song in 1973 and The Eagles recorded it for their 1973 album "Desperado". Linda recorded a cover of the song that same year and released it on her album "Don't Cry Now". Both versions of the song are incredible!
Linda Rondstat sung pop, rock, country, blues, jazz, mariachi and opera. She had the best mezzo-soprano voice ever to lend itself to popular music.
Actually, Linda made a number of suggestions to the boys as to who they should include in their band. They took her up on her suggestions and thus the Eagles were born.
Linda, the "Queen of Hearts" ❤❤❤
Linda is the only one who can sing like she does. She has an awesome voice. I love all of her songs. 💕
Don Henly said in a news conference that the record company didn't want a group singing "cowboy songs." Linda recorded the song, it became a hit, and the Eagles were on their way
She was about to leave the Eagles in the dust.
Love Linda doing this song!! She's my favorite female singer....no one close.
She is the best mezzo-soprano to grace popular music with her presence in all time. If you don't believe she is a real mezzo-soprano, track down her in her part of the Pirates of Penzance.
I'm in love with Linda Ronstadt's version
Hi Renata ... I love everything Linda touches with her voice. She is amazing. Keep rockin' ... 😎🎸✌
The voice of our generation. Love you Linda
Live long and prosper ❤️🕊️✌️😢
There are 2 other Linda snippets from this concert. Silver Threads and Golden Needles and It Doesn't Matter Anymore. Furthermore, the whole concert is available or it was anyway.
Hi Angie Day ... I love Linda, and like always, she nailed this song to perfection! Rock on ... 😎🎸✌

I like the live performance better. Just her and a piano.
Love this but I'll be honest, her live performance of this in Atlanta has the vocals of a woman not holding back. She always pulls back when being recorded? I know studios 🎙 often make vocalists with VOLUME power pull back, unfortunately. Listen to her live version from Atlanta (?) December 1 1977. Whew.
Hi Euodia ... I love Linda. Her voice is simply remarkable. She is one of my favorite female vocalist. I will check out her version of "Desperado" live in Atlanta. Thanks for the heads up on this one. Rock on ...
Just her and a piano.
The original Eagles recording wasn’t as good as Linda’s version. The Eagles later performed her version.
I see you've cut out the intro. Congratulations.
The introduction is a bit sexist, but hearing her sing this song is pretty good compensation.
It sounds like Linda had a cold when she was singing this song.
Disagree she did a better job then they did
Linda actually discovered the esgles.
