You can also try 1 lemon 2 tbps olive oil 1 or 2 tbsp honey, blend with 750 ml water - its soooo good
Why do you need the Olive oil in there?
@@drjoetvMD laxative.
Instead of plain water use Coconut water...and you will get another set of vitamin's..instead of sugar use Honey...just a thought..
Well you could try that too, yes
I made it just now, exactly as you said, and WOW is that stuff delicious! Talk about waking up the palate, holy cow. I spent hours yesterday and today searching for a good way to get the right vitamin C into my system, and I ended up with this, not supplements, not other people’s freeze dried tablets, not liposomal, this. In just 3 minutes, fresh, amazing, delightful, and everything you need for your health. Thank you!
Well done, Susan. I'm actually looking to modify the recipe some more to vary it a little bit. I have it in my head but I am yet to try it out. If it clicks into place, then I shall do a video on it
Well I’m sure it will be just as great. I really loved how you could taste the different levels of lemon flavors, - the lemon oils, the juice, the sweet pith, they all occur at different moments. And the health properties, I read today that the skin and pith have twice the vitamin C (129 mg) than the actual juice (53 mg) so 1 whole lemon gives you 182 mg of C which is twice what you need in a day. And then you are also getting the citrus flavonoids, so this is great. I’ll keep watch for your new blends. Thank you ☀️
Wrong. Liposomal is optimum at the cell wall. Stop lying.
I just tried the entire lemon in a smoothie with 4 carrots and flax and chía Seeds and a few scoops of vainilla protein powder and It was awesome! Before I just used the lemon juice in that smoothie but this is so much more tastier and filling. Thanks Dr. Joe!

Without the sweetener, it already tastes good. I use a whole lemon for a big mason jar of water, and I drain it with a metal mesh, then I get this clean lemon water. I use salt to pretreat the lemon by scrubbing off any wax that may on the skin.I'll try the ice cube methard so that I can have my lemon drink anytime, BTW, this is a very good video, hope more people watch it.
Oh, Thank you very much

*WOW!* 🫢
*just tried this. i live keto, and have been drinking the juice of 2 lemons in 32oz water once a day for its kidney/liver/vitamin c benefits. **_this_** takes it a **_big_** step further! & with one small addition (salt), i have an excellent electrolyte drink as well!*
*i just did 2 lemons in a mason jar, 2 tiny scoops of powdered stevia, a few grinds of pink himalayan salt, some water and 5 frozen organic strawberries. whoa! didnt know what to expect... not bad! 1st, **_my stick blender handled the task like a champ!_** phew. i know now i need to add a good bit more water & stevia as i didnt use enough so it was quite tart, but its thick like a shake & getting the skins & pith brings my lemon juicing to a whole new level. now i just have to figure in the extra carbs!*
*& im automatically assuming my 5# bag of costco lemons are waxed since the bag doesnt mention it. so a scrub with vinegar & a little baking soda under hot water got em stripped clean of any wax/pesticides.*
*thank you. everyone seems to agree the whole lemon is where its at.. **_you_** just got me to finally try it!*

Hi Dr Joe.
After mainly makeing 🍓 🫐 blackberry Smoothies,i wanted to try with a different fruit.I suddenly thought of 🍋So i typed in lemon smoothie and i clicked on your Video.
I very rarely have anything with 🍋in it,so i tried out your Smoothie.I especially bought an unwaxed one,it`s great that one can use the whole of the fruit, bar the head n tail.
I have to say, that i only used a whole 🍋added some water and a little milk. After i blended it,i then took a sip and was surpised that it was`nt as bitter as i thought it would be,in fact i did`nt even add any sugar, sweetener.I put the Smoothie in the fridge, had it later, cold it,s very refereshing.
A few days later i tried out a 🍋and 🍌Smoothie, that was also very tasty. 😋

Amazing tips Dr Joe thank you, what about sweeting it up with dates?
You could try that...
Good evening Dr Joe, you didn't mention how many lemons we need, say, per week. Presumably one ice cube every few days wouldn't have much effect, the whole 3 lemons per day might be a bit over the top, what's your recommended dosage, Dr Joe. As always, many thanks
No, it's not set in stone. You should look to have one to one and half lemon per session. That's what I aim to use each time
@@drjoetvMD so, would 2 or 3 sessions per week be enough?
@@peterslegr9270 3 sessions a week is about right, yes
Too much but c will give you the runs..listen to your body as everyone is different.
Heard the d-limone in citrus may help dissolve gallstones?
True or False?
The bitterness taste helps stimulate digestion.
Not true for gall stones. The Citrate in lemons helps prevent Kidney stones
Wondering if this would cause sensitivity in the teeth due to the acidity
Use a straw to drink it if that's a concern for you
Hi Dr Joe, I have been using Monk Fruit Sugar, I find it is sweeter than raw sugar, but it looks quite similar. When I use it, it does not change my Bood Glucose level at all. Can you check it out & tell us what you think?
That's not surprising. That is why it is on my list of selected healthy sweeteners. Watch this ua-cam.com/video/jqjKviVlps0/v-deo.html

@@drjoetvMDWhat do your u welcome think about Yaca syrup. It's kind of expensive.
Yacon syrup is great. I like it@@face1647
Thanks for this wonderful video.
I noticed that you were chewing the iced lemon. Does it not affect your tooth enamel? I mean with the citric acid of the lemon, would it not destroy one's enamel?
Was I really chewing it? I don't think I was, John. It's just the natural mouth movement you make when you are getting a block of cube to dissolve in the mouth that I made. Anyway back to your question, yes, in theory it could affect the tooth enamel. but that will take years to happen though unless the enamel integrity was already weakened from other insults and assaults on it. One thing I will advise is; do not brush your teeth straight after having the cubes and quickly rinse your mouth to stop any lingering effect. If you are still concerned about that possible effect, then let it thaw out and drink it quickly. Hope that helps
@@drjoetvMD That is very good )if it would take years to happen)! You made me just do that now. Blended lemon with raspberry and it was super delicious (with a spoon of xylitol). .... Your videos are quite inspiring. Thanks.
@@drjoetvMDWhat are your thoughts on a toddler sucking on lemons. I told a friend of mine that it will probably take the enamel off his teeth. He started doing this when he was 11 months.
I don't advise on kids. Sorry@@face1647
Great idea and video!!! Thanks and also thanks for link for healthy sweetner, is that from a plant? Is It better than stevia?
I wouldn't say it is better than stevia but one thing is clear, erythritol does not leave any after-taste in the mouth which is a drawback of stevia. They are both healthy sugar substitutes
@@drjoetvMD thank you!!
Doctor Joe, please can I replace the romaine Lettuce with Kale or spinach?
Yes, you can
Thanks for sharing Dr Joe, what’s the name of the sweetener used.
Erythritol

No specific time. Anytime but I like to have it either in the morning or afternoon
@@drjoetvMD Thanks Doc Joe
Hello Dr Joe could you use lemon and lime with the eurithritol and add carbonated water to have a mock sprite ? Also i know oranges have a higher sugar content. But can you also do this with oranges?
I suppose you can for your first question. I really cannot see why not. As for your second question, No
Healthy food....with added sweeteners etc. Back to square 1.
Not exactly true. All sweeteners aren't created equal. You folks should stop lumping all sweeteners together. There are healthy sweeteners and unhealthy sweeteners.
@@drjoetvMD I don't exactly agree.
Your call, buddy@@metricdeep8856
And you can use this other food here as in this video ua-cam.com/video/I0zHFJC3WrY/v-deo.html
Instead of sweetener, try a very small pinch of salt for each lemon. It works and you will not taste the salt. Works for coffee as well.
Okay. Thank you. Bear in mind this is the whole lemon though not just the juice
@@drjoetvMD yes I know. I do this a few times per week. I personally hate the sweeteners including Stevia. So since i use it with coffee which helps me not put in any sweetener, I tried with the whole lemon. It really does help. Of course adjust to personal preference.
Thank you for the video Doc. In order not to trigger ulcer, how regularly should one have the whole lemon drink sire? I don't have ulcer but i learnt prolonged lemon intake can trigger it...
If you tolerate it once I see no reason why you won't tolerate it again. Have it with meals if it is a concern for you. Normally you should have it between meals but we will have to make exception for you
Please will you give me advice on any formula that helps weight gain,it could be with the blend of various fruits or powderd formula sold at health shops
All you need to do to gain weight is eat high calorie foods (preferably healthy ones) - starchy foods like rice, pasta. potatoes etc, adding vegetable oils in your cooking because oil is really high calorie, nuts as well
@@drjoetvMD thanks Doc🙏🙏🙏🙏
It is so freakin good!

Hi Dr Joe, doesn't the lemon peel have oxalates, so this may not be good for bad kidneys? also, do the seeds have anti-nutrients like many other seeds do?
You are overthinking this. To be honest, oxalates and anti-nutrients are not things that give me sleepless nights. If these bother you, then you are better off eating meats and organ meats because most plants have them. Sorry
@@drjoetvMD Actually, I'm a vegan. I'm not "overthinking". Yes, some green plants do have an abundance of oxalates and anti-nutrients and these are advised against eating especially for people who have certain issues, or should only eat sparingly. Certain raw seeds are toxic and can interfere with nutrient absorption. I think people should be made aware of this before eating.
Can u use honey?😊
Won't be my first choice but if you want to, then yes
Dr you can drink lomon natural same way
Fresh lemon
1. You need to build yourself a much higher counter top. 2. You sure cut things slowly (lemons). Maybe you could use a better/sharper knife. 3. Even pouring the the lemon juice into the ice cube tray went too slowly. I guess I'm just a hyper type personality and am always doing things fast. Thanks for the video
Thank you for your contribution
Good morning Dr. Joe, Can we add honey instead of sweetner? Why or why not. Thank you.
Honey won't be my first choice especially if you have high BP but you could use that, yes.

Hi Doc Joe. How to know if lemons are waxed? Thanks
In my local supermarket, they are usually labelled waxed or unwaxed. But if they are not where you are, one way to tell is that waxed lemons tend to have a slippery skin

Hi Doc. Can I - also use the “Calamari Juice “ Instead Of the lemon, Will Calamari Juice damage the kidney & - liver?
I'd rather you stick to the lemon I demonstrated
Does consuming the whole lemon break a fast? I know that the juice doesn’t break a fast but not sure whether or not the whole lemon does.
Whoever told you lemon juice doesn't break your fast is either lying to you or is ignorant. Lemon juice will break your fast if you drink it during your fast as will whole lemon. Both contain calories. The juice may have a small amount of calories but they are calories all the same. Anything that triggers a digestive process and therefore metabolic process even if it is minimal breaks your fast
I love the drink, but don’t know why you need to add a sweetener as I find whole lemon juice not bitter at all, the piff and the peel take the bitterness away.
That's good to know

@@drjoetvMD - Ok. I was taking moringa but stopped about a month ago because it didn't seem to help much. However, I was only taking 2 capsules/day. I'll UP the dosage and see what happens.

@@karenbcz22 How about you use the powder instead? I have never used capsules. People always ask me about the capsules and I say, I don't have any experience with capsules. I can only speak for the powder. Try the powder and see how you get on. Something else you can do is add some turmeric (1 tsp) to it. Now I should warn you, the powder is quite earthy in taste so it's not glamorous on the tongue. You may use a sweetener like honey or dates syrup to let the "medicine" go down, if you get my drift (LOL)

How do you know which lemons at the market have wax?????? would it be best to use organic just to make sure??????
Organic lemons can equally be waxed. Waxing is done to prolong the shelf life of the produce. In my local supermarket, waxed lemons are usually labelled as such, so you know which ones are waxed and which aren't. You can also get your lemons from a farmer's market. Those one won't be waxed
