@@markhovscrch4050 that may be but I'm sure they are going to want to flaunt SMT5 being released on switch. And not a year after everyone else releases the game 😂
@@raccooncity1981 or Embryon gang
The sole reason I wanna get this game is the Battle UI being VERY similar to Tokyo Mirage Sessions. That UI was nice. This would be my first actual SMT game.
But TMS is shity
@@cringekid3993 I enjoyed TMS. But I'm just commenting that I like the Battle UI this SMT5.
@@DarcSagewhisker yeah I said that wrong TMS wasn't s***** it was shity for was trying to be
I can not wait to worship this game. Apocalypse isn't enough, bring it!
I've started playing Shin Megami Tensei IV and so far I've been enjoying it! Maybe I'll pick up this game and Nocturne when I'm done
I know I will
I just played smt IV and now playing nocturne. If you like IV I think nocturne is even better and smt v looks even better still!
@@JaredConnell I also plan on playing SMT IV Apocalypse
@Quinn McDonnell doesn't Nocturne has at least something of its own going on? (Didn't play it but going to, and also smt5)
Well you have almost 5 months, if you're able to squeeze in Nocturne I'd definitely play it. It might not be quite as good after this one, depending how this one is. But I imagine it'd be like playing Persona 3 after P4. It's still an amazing game worth playing through, but P4 is just a lot more refined, and more fun to play.
The Switch's lifespan has just been extended
Wrath Tempest looks badass!
SMT is that cooler big brother that crashes the party after coming home from college
Thank you Atlus/Nintendo this something exciting for me this year
I keep coming back and watching all these. My body is ready!
This looks so good. November can’t come soon enough.
This actually looks really fun. Might buy it when the game comes out.
Meh
Awesome
If you liked the persona franchise you will like this series.
@@Haha-id5qv I loved playing persona 5 (royal and strikers)
@@lacia1658 If you enjoyed the gameplay and some of the darker themes of P5 then this game will satisfy that. Don't expect high focus on character development or any kind of social sim at all though. This is more traditional JRPG.
Peaceful days are over, let's survive.
Now I wanna pick up Devil Survivor again
And knowing me I'll be going for the equivalent of the Neutral Ending, or Freedom Ending basically "Damn to the forces of order, and damn to the forces of chaos I'll condemn both if it means protecting the innocent."
This definitely looks alot cooler than the rest of the trailers released before hand. In fact this trailer pretty much sold me on this game!
Yeah they should have showed this during E3 to the western audience.
I would not be surprised if this androgynous protagonist is the last fighter to SSBU.
Having both joker and an smt rep sounds pretty neat now that I think about it.
It has a sword so probably yes
The official website uses male pronouns
I would not be opposed to this being the case, even though I normally would be against the swordfighter hype train (at least it would not be another FE character).
Still rooting for demi-fiend
Very happy about how this game’s looking so far
Oh my I have heard the name of this game for many years never played it if they would have played this kind of trailer sooner I don't know if I would play any other game this looks awesome wow
I Can't wait this will be a masterpiece
Protag's design is pretty dope.
This looks so good! This completely blew my expectations so far out of water that it’s in orbit now.
I like the new hero, he has a cool design and I like that beam saber he has.
@@DanielQuinte yep thats a male
@@DanielQuinte Aogami literally calls him "Young man" in the trailer lmao
I'm already in love with this ost, i need it.
Looks like a natural sequel to Nocturne. Looks like it actually incorporates Kazama Kaneko's art style that they've not been utilizing since Persona got popular. Love it already
This isn’t Kaneko’s art, but rather Doi’s
@@mrperson4542 it’s unfortunate tbh. I mean Doi’s designs are great, but Kaneko can’t be beaten
Feels so great to be alive right now.
i told myself that i would stop buying games until i played through a few
but omg SMT V is looking fantastic. after SMT III Remaster and the all-new SMT V, i hope even more MegaTen games are in the works or will be ported to the Switch.
Those special attack animations go so hard wow
I wonder if higher level magic spells get cool animations too
I'm curious how Megidoladyne will look. Ehhh, if only they could add Holy Dance, I would then go magic build instead of phys as always.
Most likely they would have special animation for each special attack like zio and mazio would be different. But things like sukunda and tarukaja, i'm not so sure
Jackfrost has a special ice spell which drops Multiple ice jack frost lmao. This game looking great
@@EtherealMystic That's awesome lol
@Quinn McDonnell That's really cool to hear, thanks!
Gonna watch this trailer everyday until SMT V finally releases.
Same.
@Quinn McDonnell Way ahead of you bro. Thanks for the suggestion though.
@@EseShad0w316 What do you think of them so far?
2:10. This track slaps! I hope it’s Ryota Kozuka at the helm as the lead composer; his work is amazing!
It's Megiro's
Just don't say it slaps next time say its good
Finally! The series is returning back to Nintendo.
@Logan Didn’t you make the same comment on a different video? I think I’ve seen you before lol
It never left? Minus Nocturne
1 and 2 were fami-super fami and 4 was 3ds.
Heck we got Nocturne now, too.
its not like it was ever gone in the first place, SMT4 and 4 Apocalypse are 3DS exclusive titles.
It never left in the first place
For anyone who plays Persona. This is the games that started it all. Basically SMT lets you see the world of the "Personas". Just enjoy the game's they are all fun SMT and Persona games are all fun.
Also at 0:32 you could literally think he was a woman with the voice actor they used lol. Until the part calling him a young man.
Yup I thought it was a girl lmao
that voice its from the protagonist friend tho not from him...2:25 might be his voice if he even has one
Its not the world of the Personas lol, its just a world where demons live on, and Persona is just a spinoff that was made reutilizing the same demons but giving them other lore explanation behind them
The voice was speaking to him...
@@impmadness he knows that, thats just the dumbed-down explanation hes giving

glad this series is finally getting the large amounts of attention it deserves.

3 of the 5 years of this game's development went into the hair lighting and physics.
I unfortunately still got a ton of RPGs on my backlog, but after those I will definitely take a look at this
What RPGs? I'm just always looking for a new rpg myself
@@anenemystand5582 Right now I got Xenoblade Chronicles and Ni no Kuni

You love to see it. Smt V is looking outstanding.
These next 3 weeks are going to be brutal. So hyped for this
I love that attacks now have animations, that's been a long time coming. But I'm so hype for this game. Still getting Nocturne sequel vibes and wouldn't that be some great timing 🤣
Ran around and managed to get the special edition pre-ordered!!! Cannot wait for this!!!
Nice. I only ordered the normal steelbook edition, good for you though!
Fun fact. the VA for the Aogami from SMT5 also did Dante in 2007 and in the maniax dlc.
This game looks so good can't wait to play this game haven't played any of these games
Please buy this and support mainline SMT everyone
It doesn't have waifus or social links, or a group of quirky teenagers, but it's just a damn good JRPG series
Thanks for pushing this game so hard Nintendo. Even publishing this in Europe so they don't get screwed over having to wait a long time just to play the game like with SMT IV only launching digitally a long time after US and JP
Also for those who don't know, Persona is a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei and it has been around longer. Pokémon didn't start the monster collecting gerne, it was SMT.
Smt as a whole deserves so much love all over the world and I'm glad that nintendo is pushing this hard to many people. I'm happy this is a worldwide release so many fans of smt around the world can come together to cherish the release of a new number title in the smt franchise.
@@MoominTri I think Sega is also helping push for global release.
@@songekkouga SEGA is probably the reason this happened just like with Yakuza Like a Dragon but I have no doubt Nintendo was instrumental in this as well given their recent global expansion of series like Fire Emblem with Three Houses
SMT has waifus though? Its just theres never been a romance system.
I love Persona Series but never touched on SMT. I think SMTV will be my first purchase/dive on the series.
Welcome fren
Same here.
welcome to my favorite series, expect you like it
Strange journey on the original DS was my first one, then afterwards I got into persona with p4 and p5. I have the remake of strange journey on the 3ds now and nocturne on ps4.
a must have title. Strong last months, SMT 5, Pokemon Remake and Advance Wars Remake... awesome
I’m definitely getting this, and also I only have to wait about 3 months!
1:43 this is Mermaid's first 3D appearance (not counting the mobile game)
This is gonna be awesome
As a Persona fan just wanna say I cant wait for the game it looks so good
Welcome to mainline my friend. If you don't already have nocturne, P5 on merciless can help you learn important things about how to play mainline. How important buffs and null/drain/repel skills are in fusion skill inheritance as well as basic understanding of negotiation tactics. Also, I hope you fall in love just as I did with Sacrificial Fusion. Literally one of my favorite things about mainline compared to Persona's fusion.
The only thing that Persona won't teach you is effective use of the Press Turn since Persona 3, 4 and 5 use a modified version of the press turn system that rewards you heavily but doesn't punish you as much.
@@BoostedMonkey05 Thanks for the info it will be helpful :)
@@BoostedMonkey05 Yea these games all make you exploit the system but Persona let's you basically go forever as long as you hit separate shadows. SMT halves them which makes it finite. Basically double turns. Also Persona doesn't always apply the same rules to the enemies like smt does. Anyone who keeps these things in mind should find the transition fairly easy.
@@HoudiniFontmeister the last part is why I tell people SMT has much better combat vs persona
Pokemon disappointed fans: you need to give this one a try! Is also good to show game freak that they do have to keep up with their competition
This is much better than Pokemon, TBH.
The only thing both games have in common is that they're RPGs and you collect "monsters". Other than that they have little in common and while some people likely like Pokemon and SMT, they can't be interchanged.
@@NuiYabuko Yeah, I got you. I like both and I can't find other similarities. Well both have lore and world building based in mythological creatures and some kind of symbolism, Pokémon mixing concepts and SMT directly in its plot and characters. But yeah... No that much. SMT is totally better as a videogame tho. In every aspect.
Multiplayer mode not withstanding, SMT overtook Pokemon years ago. It's basically Pokemon for adults and hardcore gamers.
Pokemon have been going down since bw2
It’d be fun if we got a commercial where characters from Persona or any other Atlus franchise were in a rush to get copies of this game
That'd be really cute ngl
The phantom theives rob a GameStop
Now that's epic
