Question: is it possible to be a straight hair natural when doing welding classes? I'd be in a high heat environment 4 days per week. My mom wanted me to start getting silk presses and what I can see everywhere is that if you ever sweat it ruins your hair.
Hmm it’s tough because it’s possible to maintain a silk press even when you sweat etc but welding is very high heat, is there anything you could wear to protect your hair to prevent excess sweating ?
@@kierrajohnson9244 Thank you 🥰🥰 it's actually really fun and relaxing. You have to move super slow sometimes so it kinda turns into standing meditation lol. My goal is to master the skills enough to do art with my welding instead of just industrial work ⚒ ✨✨
Natural Nadine , what is your opinion on grsase, its having a come back in the straight natural community, as a way to oil the scalp and coat hair strands to prevent breakage.
Is it a water based heat protectant you’re using? Usually sizzling will be due to hair not being fully dry after applying? Steam/smoke is fine sizzling isn’t xx
I’m telling you now. I’m a curly girl and my hair grows 12 inches a year. I only need to 2 cuts a year and I do a silk for this, so I can have all my bad ends cut off. The last trim I needed half an inch . What I will say about the silk press is, it was a nice change. However, because it was so long, I didn’t feel it suited my face the way my curly hair/length does. Being a straight natural, does mean slowing down your hair growth and potentially thinning the hair over time.

@@HiNinqi You go girl! Props to you.🫶🏾
But if I use a heat protectant after blow drying, my hair sizzles when I straighten it. Is it okay to hear sizzling.

I think as a straight hair natural grease is abit too heavy. When I wore my hair curly I loved hair grease though!xxx

Do you ever Co-wash your hair? Is that even still a thing?
Never, straight shampoo. I see some people still do it still though xx
