  • The plaintiff, a former amateur boxer, now owns one of the hottest lounges in Nashville. She claims she paid the defendant to use his outdoor venue for an event but had to cancel due to weather, so she’s suing the defendant for a refund. The defendant, a barber and venue owner, denies owing the plaintiff anything and is countersuing for lost wages.

It's wild that has she was talking Judge Mathis didn't acknowlege (or even clap for) ALL of her accomplishments. She''s amazing! But really spent alot of time praising the defendant (they clapped for him) He also kicked up a little energy trying to discredit her, as well. I peeped that. It's wild to me. And shameful.

@@zoradaughter he doesn’t like black women or upper class and non ghetto Blacks. He’s very hateful especially when they are not poor and well off. He was really happy and proud of a barber and event planner. SMH he’s so hateful. The judge always tries very hard to push certain types of Black people in hopes that they will get ignorant and ghetto like he is, and it really bothers him when he can’t get everyone to get down to his level.

I read the comments first and got scared, but I think I agree with the judge. The problem is they are "doing business" without contracts. Without no contract you can't sue and cancel and what not. He was teaching them a lesson. Don't matter if you're doing business with friends or family or whatever, you do it professionally with contracts and cancellation policies. Then you document all communications. If you have business partners all of them need to be there with you during the hearing or provide some sort of witness statement or at least give you a clear rundown for what happen so you can communicate that in court

Both of these people seem like genuinely good people but the communication was lacking. Both professionals lacked communication and professionalism during their transaction. Hope they can figure something out

My condolences to the gentleman. It doesn't excuse him from the business. The right thing is to offer another date. But if it's the day before, refund the money. Unless it's stated otherwise in the contract.

She named 25 businesses and in the end didn't execute the basics of business, a CONTRACT. They both have an inflated sense of importance.
