Funnily enough, this is the PRX I'd consider buying 🤷🏻♂️
They should have done it in LED like the pulsar. For at least a time, they couldn’t make them fast enough.
💯
That could have been a better move no doubt. My thoughts were to have it on a rubber strap as well. Maybe someones pool watch for vacation?
@@66racerI'm sure the current rubber strap that they offer for the PRX will fit.
Give me a G shock any day its fudge pants may as well buy a nice silver chain for your wrist its only the strap try a zelos swordfish even better strap without the watch add the watch and no comparison
Yeah an LED would have been a much better way to go, they could have been playful with the colour of the display, even have multi-colour option
I thought I was dreaming, would have never thought to see this - a PRX version I was wishing for - happen for real. I always liked the PRX for the bracelet, but I don't like watches that resemble hype watches like the royal oak. Also, I like Casios, but have dealt with too many scratched glasses and rubber bands that turned brittle and tore eventually, this is the perfect alternative, great job Tissot!
Somehow this comes off as even more late '70s than the regular PRX models. I don't think this is for me, but nobody can accuse Tissot of being predictable here. What I would have loved to see was a 37.5 or 38mm PRX launch.
This is more late 70s than the actual PRX from the 70s
I don’t think that is likely while also keeping the 35 mm. It’s just a lot to ask for.
This looks like an off season april fools joke
Sales will tell ...
@@azimczor lack thereof
I 2nd that emotion🤣
Looks 😂like a naked Gshock on a Tissot Prx strap
I actually thought it was. I was impressed by the photoshop. I have no idea what someone would be thinking in buying this. To all their own.
It’s fantastic to see a $300 digital PRX with all the functions of a $10 digital F-91W
costs 538usd in europe
Casio A1000RCG-8BER Sapphire crystal glass, stainless steel case, stainless steel band, 250$
yes, if you ignore that the Casio F-91W is just cheap plastic watch with a strap that wont last longer than a couple of years. With a plastic crystal that will scratch in no time. And a backlight that is pretty much useless.By the way, the F-91 does not have a 24 hour countdown timer and a second timezone.
@@TheMortonclayton I like it. (I have the A1000MGA-5EF myself). I just wished the A1000 series had a higher waterproof rating than 30 meters.
@@hait3k435usd actually.
It is a beautiful watch in the classic style of this model series with an easy-to-read and especially large display with other useful functions. I'm not a Tissot fan, but they nailed this watch. Many people will welcome the retro style with a digital display, because it is large and you have useful functions after hands.
I agree and getting one myself.
I actually like it. I'd take it if given to me, but the Casio A171 (at under $30) is plenty good for me as far as this style goes.
The PRX cases and bracelets are pretty nice though. Ten times as nice? Probably not.
@@charlesforbin8526 yeah the prx is modern as it is much more simplistic therefore cleaner
3 bar vs 10 bar .... lol
I'm all for premium digitals, Gshock is the only one doing it and most of their offerings are big and loud. This is ALMOST what I'm looking for, but what I really want is an all metal A168.
No such thing as premium digital. It's all cheap Chinese tech.
Try the Casio A1000 series.
@@bdegrds
As far as Casio goes, Tough Solar, Multiband 6, Bluetooth, that’s pretty premium for a digital watch.
As usual, the Swiss made no effort to elevate this digital watch.
Premium A158 with superior backlight for me, but i agree with you.
Only one doing it?? 😂
I don’t understand why I love this thing. Doesn’t make sense but I’m getting one
Love it! Another cool watch in the quiver!
I get that Tissot wants to cash in on all the prx hype but come on, this isn’t it. Big L I don’t see people spending more for this than a regular Casio fw91
If you consider full metal casio options it’s not too far off
And i'ts difficult to deny that you get a substantial upgrade on quality and finishing regarding the bracelet and the case.
@@marvinberwartPeople don't seem to realize this is a Swiss watch with premium materials. It is no digital Casio and doesn't compete with one.
I proudly rock my F91W, but just try rocking an A158W for a while, with color taking off, dents and scratches and your hair getting in between the bracelet. It's not the same league.
It's finished more people will buy Solar Gshock, not that swiss rubbish
I think this Tissot is cool. And it's nice to offer much more quality and fit and finish than a Casio BUT ar this price point, they absolutely should have made it solar powered. And they should have make it slimmer with the display closer to the glass to make it appear flatter .
thanks for the vid! if tissot really wanted to do a digi-watch, i would have liked something interesting with the screen instead of a liquid crystal display. maybe eink? i guess it works as an homage though.
I love it! I might make this my only digital watch!
Love it - the first PRX I’m seriously considering 👍
Same here. I never cared for the regular PRX. But this one I'm going to get.
I don’t know if I like it or hate it…it is unique. Great video as always Teddy👍🏻
My initial thought was shock, but then I started appreciating the approach Tissot has taken, it is very distinctive and I like it 🙂
I would of liked an analog/digital display watch over straight digital, but having a sapphire crystal is great. Certina has a steel and titanium digital watch that similar to this price range
*would have
What model ?
Thanks for the review. I like the look of this one too, very nice!
From almost anyone but Tissot, I would dig it. This is not the kind of thing Tissot can pull of with sincerity
Tissot made digital watches in the 70's. No I'm glad they make some again. There isn't much choice in well made stainless steel digital watches that is are made by Casio. And even Casio doesn't offer sapphire crystals on digital watches unless you buy the titanium G-Shock square that cost 3 times the price of the Tissot.
I absolutely love it, definitely getting one. Perfect retro goodness ❤❤ Great Review 💯❤️
You nuts when you can get a Gshock 😂😂
It surprises me that Tissot did this. But, thinking about it, it shouldn’t. A Seiko A159-4039G that I bought to commemorate my high school graduation has been seeing a lot of wrist time this past summer. It seems nostalgia (or should I say retro?) is in right now.
I have ordered one of these (35mm Silver), got it very cheap here in the U.K(30% off plus a load of gift vouchers I'd been saving over the past 2 years got it to £45!) I'm guessing they are not popular) - I was born in 93 and I find it strange that I can look at watches which designs date before I was born and find them nostalgic(even though I wasn't even alive) - what a crazy hobby we enjoy 😁
I grew up in the 70's. I may have bought one then. I may even buy one now. I just wish it was solar powered and the dial was somewhat embellished around the digital display.
I think this is one of those things that will put people off at first but over time will grow on collectors. Especially if they quickly discontinue the production. Design wise I think it’s a missed opportunity to not utilize the entire dial as a screen. It would keep the overall design of the case while offering even more function for the price range.
While I agree with most of your points, I think not using the entire dial as a screen is a strict design choice. If they used the whole dial, the watch would've looked more like a smartwatch, which means people would've expected different things than what they expect from a retro looking digital watch.
@@halua1969 You are correct, I do agree people would have an expectation of utilization. If they did make the entire dial a display, I think it would be best if it was just larger numbers and the Tissot branding at the top. A simple blend between digital and analog. No smart watch stuff, just one clean interesting look. I think that might be cool, though this is also a unique look already.
They are making a retro watch, and the screen size is almost exactly how company like Omega, Casio, Seiko, Timex made them back in 70s/80s.
I love it! I love my digital G-Shocks, but the full metal are not premium enough for what they cost. Meanwhile imo the PRX’s best feature is the bracelet so if I go with this I get a cool, retro digital with premium components.
The GMB2100 feels plenty premium and can be had now well under MSRP. I bough mine for $300 new and it feels great on the wrist, definitely worth the price
i hope you hit that milli, bro you are my watch guru, in case you didnt know it. Im not surprised that you are coming on near the million, you put out great content with great editing. Keep it up bro! I hope to cross path in life lol
I love it. Ordered the steel and black one.
Considering the amount of unused real estate on the face of the watch you could add a solar panel around the display. Maybe on the next edition?
I wouldn’t count on it.
The Swiss are resting on their laurels as far as Quartz watches go.
No Solar, no radio control.
Holy crap. I’m into these. My appreciation for Casio grows as the years pass and this addresses the cheap bracelet, plastic crystal and body that Casio loves.
F91W is a masterpiece
Casio has already had the metal case/band and mineral crystal model (casio a1000)
@@sonson-ct9cm I have an a1000. The mesh bracelet is a better alternative to their folded link standard, but I wish it had sapphire and water resistance better than 30m.
@@billybenson3834 they are iconic. I have two.
@@bryanthebryan2638 I agree 👍 The 100m wr of the PRX is more reliable
I love it! looks awesome, I own a Casio a158w wear it every day and would love to own the new Tissot PRX digital watch.
Wow! They look cool. Hope Tissot offers them on rubber straps as well. The gold one is my favorite.
Well, these are interchangeable!
Delugs makes aftermarket straps for the 35 and 40mm PRX's
a digital with no date on the main display is a huge miss
Weirdly, having been a teen in the 1970's, this is truely retro, more so than the original PRX IMHO,
I'd need to see it but the gold PVD 35mm may be a hit with many.
It will date though and Casio could probably do it for less.
Not something I was expecting from Tissot. Still,no one expects The Spanish Inquisition either unless they are Pythoners.
I perceive this as ‘It’s so bad that it’s good’. I want one and will definitely try on to see if the 35mm looks like it should on my wrist.
Awesome ! Why the hell not. I’m in. Would have been nice to have a few smart watch features. ie, messaging text etc. Nice companion to my 35 mm prx quartz.
The rectangle inside the circle is an odd design choice that I’m not sure works that well.
it's awful, looks like an afterthought
Omega thought otherwise decades ago.
Most digital watches looked like this in the 70s
They should have made the display round.
I think they can't because of the movement
@@markenlightenment7101 Yeah perhaps. But why not use a different movement then? One that would have a round display to suit the case of the watch. 🤷🏻
@@catalinpogor3014 I believe they want something in a specific price range, the prices can change a lot with a different movement, especially considering that this is swiss quartz in the end
With this, they have a very good competitor on the market for a "small digital chronograph with steel case and bracelet"
Also sourcing Chinese and Japanese movements on a Swiss watch? No thanks
It’s not the movement that’s the issue…it’s the case , they are just using the same blanks
@@xgford94I don't know the real reason they did this, but it looks so off to me.
This watch has my dad's name all over it!! Xmas present for sure
brilliant idea 💯
I actually like these surprise releases. Affordable too, I might get one 🤔 as I’m actually not all that keen on the original analogue versions. As I by far prefer Christopher Ward’s 12 over the PRX. But this digital variation of the latter is right up my street.
Affordable? This is a Casio for $350...
@@jisezer350 is pretty affordable bub

Can Tissot take a moment to concentrate on something other than PRX? I’ve been hoping they would make a smaller version of the Gentleman (36 to 38mm), Hamilton listened to the public & made a smaller version of the Murph
Business is business, any successful company will put their focus on what's selling the most, and the PRX is making them a lot of money right now
Yes, sadly.
Like it, getting one. Nice complement to my Blue and Ice Blue 40s.
I like it , very good move from tissot, I will get one definitely!
I’m really interested in this. A proper steel+sapphire digital with bracelet appeals to me. I think maybe the 40mm is a bit too blank looking and maybe the 35 is too small. I hope not. No microadjust is a pity but maybe not a deal breaker
Still coming back to this. I think with a rectangular display an octagonal case just looks better. This has sapphire glass and better water resistance than a casio so I’m still considering it
Not sure why so many people are hating on this when they had no problem paying $260 for a Moonswatch that had marginally better quality than a Happy Meal toy. At least this is an actual watch made of steel and sapphire.
But this one looks like an Happy Meal toy.
Your first sentence said it all, good point and all too true.
Agreed, Materials and performance matter in some people’s purchasing journey. Also The design is maybe initially off putting, but I think it will do well enough and be at least somewhat collectible over time. I see the gold, as well as the smaller case version catching a bit more attention from buyers/collectors.
I rather pay for the swatch because it is about design. This is shet of a watch.
FWIW I also have a problem paying $ 260 for a Moonswatch. Not hating on either though.
I love my f91w, the black prx in 35 looks good.
Im starting to like it and would go for the gold version.
I think this is the coolest looking Tissot...I don't mind the PRX, but I think this is more original in todays watch design. I think they missed a trick however, especially on the steel and black, where the black could have been a solar panel to make the watch solar power rather than battery. But apart from that, the price is great and looks amazing
Again with the PRX! Alright, it's kinda brilliant. When will Tissot start paying some attention to the Gentleman? A 36-38mm version would be delightful.
I love the PRX and I have a 35mm quartz version, but I agree the Gentleman isn't getting enough love. I am still waiting for a smaller version.
Exactly. I’d buy one of those in a second.
A Casio A168 with this build quality please.
Any idea about the serviceability of the movement? (and how it stacks up with other quartz movements in the price bracket?)
It's a swiss (ETA) movement. And as digital quartz movement are solid state, they will not need service any time soon.
@@MrPleers Thank you!
I like it's quirky retro-ness. PRX + chronograph, GMT. :) I can see this blending into streetwear scene. Which the AP ALYX is trying to go into.
What a great idea from Tissot and as usual, an excellently done video.
They're milking the PRX now and it's too much.
It's like that dude who makes a girl laugh once then gets the flush and goes into a chain of more jokes that get worse and worse
I like it, just ordered one.
I've never had any interesting quartz watches. I love mechanical!
Then I met the Hamilton "Ventura Elvis 80" quartz on its wonderfully
Integrated bracelet. Thank you very much.
( It had to be quartz because the original Ventura was the very first electric watch... ever! Wouldn't be right to acquire a Ventura with a mechanical movement... though the quartz movement is an ETA!)
... And so my "quartz " glass ceiling had been broken, and my eyes opened up to a whole new world of watchmaking.
My adventure in watch collecting started 15 years ago when my 20 year old SKX-173 DIED and needed replacing.
Time to go 'Swiss' I said to myself and off I went to my local Tissot AD with the intent of buying a $700 Tissot, and I walked out with an$ 1700 ORIS TT1 day/date.
BTW, I'm currently wearing my Longines Spirit 42 chronometer. It's my grail watch.
So now I love mechanical but I love quartz too.
The whole integrated watch head and bracelet thing going on now has really caught my imagination.
I have the ChristopherWard 12 to thank for my interest in integrated bracelet watches, but I'm done with spending a thousand dollars plus on time pieces. (My Longines is my Pinnacle, and I love it).
And i've looked at Tissots PRX line. Nice watches, but they didn't turn me.
And I love the Hamilton PSR (Pulsar reissue) but for price.
So I guess what i'm saying is Tissot has just hit every button with this one.
Beautiful and well executed integrated watch head and bracelet, quality materials, sapphire crystal, 100 meters, water resistant, and all the Stopwatch features, and less than $400 bucks....,
And come Christmas time, I will own this watch.
Two thumbs up.
I like it. Reminds me of the Speedmaster LCD from the 70s
Solar would have been nice. Otherwise, not bad at all.
Not happening.
The Swiss won’t bother.
Solar and radio control should be standard on this watch.
@@e28forever30 Yes, it needs solar, radio control, and date. The display looks too small in proportion to the dial. Information is poorly organized. Overall, it's a half-baked design.
This makes more sense to me than the analog PRX. I like it!
I never saw this coming but.... it's actually pretty cool and I agree with you on the market placement. Would I trade my Auto PRX for one, No. Would I add it to my collection, probably not. Would I wear it of someone gave it to me, sure. Thanks for sharing, have a great week.

Hallo Teddy, very first reaction was, no. But I kept on watching and got more friendly with the idea. What I do like is that for a digital watch it can be worn as a elegant watch, because it is done very softly. I mean a quiet watch. So good job from tissot. Thanks from Switzerland 🇨🇭, rachel
Next: tissot prx sun clock
I totally love it. I'll probably get one soon. I've been looking for swiss digital watches, and the ones I like turn out to be mostly vintage. Nothing wrong with vintage, but here is a brand new one.
its, i don't know what to say, i just bought the Tissot Seastar 1000 in 43 mm with the powermatic 80 with bracelet i'm loving that for sure, i'm definitely a fan of Tissot and all that they have done to make watch customers happy and steady flow of new watches, i also bought 2 G-shock Casio watches for my sons, i'm planning on getting the citizen endeavor when i can afford it, Tissot kind of shocked me with this release i like the sapphire glass and the bracelet. i guess it will grow on me organically
I think this piece is kind of cool. I could imagine the hipsters will love this one :-) but its not made for me right now. But it also ticks a lot of "remember my youth"- vibes.
I'm not usually a fan of digital watches except a couple from Casio or if it has an analog face with it, but this one is really striking.
I like the PRX surprise watch
Beautiful
This ain’t it.
100% Agree
Yeah I hate it, it's burning my eyes
I agree. This is just lazy designing. Lol the functions are great but they could have don't better if this was the direction they are headed.
I feel like they’re just trying to get market share with Casio Digitals, but they just don’t get it.
this hurts
The 100m water resistance and Swiss brand are the selling points comparing to the Casio a1000
Are you nuts the Swiss can't touch G-Shock digital
@@greenerick you shouldn't compare them to each other just because they are digital watches 🤦 G-shock has an unique aesthetics
Going to get one next weekend. The 35mm in black.
Tissot was successful: After I glanced at this watch I thought it was an early Casio! Nice looking watch!
I love this version of the PRX, I own and love my 35mm PRX Blue dial, and this digital version is now definitely on my wish list.
What an idiot, just get a Casio lmao

I love retro digitals. I’m going to add this to my PSR and Computron.
no date on the main display of a digital watch ???
Video idea: best day date watches (please, I can't make up my mind)
All it needs is a moonswatch logo. Teddy's just powering on😂😂😂. What a trooper.
This is a great marketing trick. Since you need to get more young people to get interested in watches and wearing watches. Even though the price is not quite pocket money. Tissot allways has been a brand apealling to the younger audience. I am not that young anymore but I bought the gentleman when it came out and just love it. I really like the idea of the digital prx. Great move and great design. As I said for the younger audience. Well done Tissot.
Young people won’t be wearing this lol 😂
Why is the crystal circular?
Not to throw shade on this watch, but it is insane how casio can package a watch with all the same functions (albeit with cheaper materials, but still), and you can buy this casio watch using the change money if you were to buy this tissot with $400 all $100 dollar bills. Crazy!
It’s just exhausting at this point. Thanks to prx for ending this whole integrated bracelet craze for now.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!❤❤❤
This is exactly where i had my issues even with the orginal prx quartz, i felt like i was paying a shit ton of money just for a bracelet and nothing else so i sold it and got a seiko speedtimer totally happy and in love now
I like the prx but find this version awful + it has become so common and overdone now that I'm bored with it in general.
Love it, theres room for improvement, but the more high end digitals the better.
Really love it
love it! I bought one!
I actually rate this, if someone really wants the functionality of a digital but wants a good quality steel and sapphire watch, this is a great option
Not for that price lol
@@Unlucky1776 do you think the standard PRX quartz analog is overpriced?
@@Joss1245 yes there’s no way I’d be caught dead paying for that lol
Not for me but glad to see a company trying "new" things.
Is it April 1st?
I just bought one of them and I got it under 300usd because of father’s day discount and it quality is notable especially in this price point. 🎉
I think the PRX digital is pretty cool, but I think G-Shocks are more worthy of the price tag because they’re more rugged and usually can have multiple alarms and time zones. Today they’re usually analog-digital too, which visually is something we’re more accustomed to.
Maybe this will grow more on me over time, but that’s my initial reaction. I’ll probably end up buying one as is though.
You're completely right
Shark Jumped.....
For 70's retro digital watches, the Hamilton PSR and Bulova Computron provide a much better retro feel.
Both of those releases mirror watches that actually existed in the 70's and early 80's. This release does not.
By the time LCD was released, almost no one was placing them in "round" faces.
Almost all early LCD watches mimicked the design adopted by Seiko when they finally released their first digital alarm chronograph which had the familiar "days of the week" listed at the top of the display with a little PIP that would highlight which day it was.
No one can argue the "quality" of the materials in this release, but it just doesn't look like anything that was actually being worn during that period, and it loses a lot the retro charm as a result.
A PSR can be had for under $800 retail, and depending on discounts all the way down to the mid $500's.
A Computron can be had for $100 less than the PRX.
And both of these outperform the PRX on the retro front.
I cant bring myself to pay over $500 for the PSR, but my Computron scratches that vintage digital watch itch quite nicely.
I hate to tell you but what you said is a bit off here. There were tons of digital watches in round cases throughout the 70s, it was quite popular. There was a vintage digital tissot that looked pretty much just like this one. A digital prx from 1975 more or less. They also sold rebranded Casiotrons, round ones too.
The psr and computron are great retro rereleases, but LED digitals were the style of the early 70s, LCD was the late 70s. It's unexpected but I applaud taking the risk.
When's the gmt coming out?
I got an early LCD timex in the late 70s. I believe it cost about $10, which in today's dollars would be about $45. A few years later, I replaced it with a Casio, which was a better watch in every way.
That is what the new digital PRX reminds me of. And not in a good way. My prediction is, Tissot has reached the end of the line with the PRX if this is the best they can do.
As a value proposition, I guess a lot depends on the longevity of the lcd display and quartz movement. Since apparently, the case and crystal should last for decades. In general, the idea of the lcd watch is, modestly priced but by the time the lcd display fails, you probably lost or threw it away since it started looking beat to hell after 3 or 4 years. Is the lcd display going to last 25 or 30 years?
Oh no. I love Casio A700WM for being extremely affordable (aka cheap), light (due to the materials used) and small. Tissot, why? The look of Digital PRX and MSRP are both quite... challenging and questionable, at least for my taste and subjective value assessment. These were my initial thoughts when I saw these new watches and their prices.
Is that actually betted than a Casio Fw91w? It looks home made.
Lots of Casio watches are better than the F91W, some even for the same price. This one’s just weird though
No date on main display???
Will you be reviewing the new Ball Outlier III?
